People are too hard on this place. It's a small, family-run business. I don't mind seeing their kids there - the little one is pretty cute, and he rang me up once like a gentleman. He's too old now (8 or 9) to be running around, so don't worry about that. The food is probably the best Chinese you're likely to get for miles, which is more about the location than the restaurant. Beggars can't be choosers. But seriously, I've never been disappointed with anything I ordered there. I agree that ordering the sushi is probably going to be disappointing at best, just based on the fact that they don't have enough demand to have really good quality fish. read more

Been coming here for years with my family. Food is really good dine in, not so good as take out. Staff isn't overly friendly. They just take your order, give you drinks, and leave until your food is ready. When your food is ready they deliver it then don't check on you until they give you your bill. We had to ask for refills. I'm not overly social so it works out fine for me. Good place. read more

Times are tough right now, I get it. But come on, I'm being nice giving 2 stars. After spending $62 on food you forget to put the soups in. I sent my children to pick it up, which is NOT close to my home. Unfortunately, my kids didn't notice until they got back that the order wasn't completed. This restaurant was spectacular. Everything we ordered was fresh and tasted delicious. Even the duck sauce and noodles (which we often avoid) was the best we ever had. Couldn't stop eating the two. The chicken and pork lo mein is delicious! I cannot eat it anymore (dietary restrictions) but it was my go to dish! I also suggest the broccoli and garlic sauce! If you like seafood, look no further! I LOVE the steamed shrimp and broccoli: it comes with the best sticky rice, lots of perfectly steamed broccoli, a few carrots and a generous portion of shrimp! They send out a sauce on the side, but I haven't tried it! My boyfriend loves their sesame chicken and says it's cooked perfectly EVERYTIME. The restaurant is usually empty, so we get top of the line service! Yes...the prices are higher than anywhere else in the area. I think the other reviewers are a little hard on this place. Surprisingly Asian for Millbrook. Even down to family members and kids in the restaurant. They could use a little less family as it took away from the otherwise nice decor - they could also benefit from putting supplies under the counter. We got turned away from the Millbrook cafe and came next door. Dumplings are awesome. The seafood soup was delicious and the vege Lo mein was good. The basic sushi rolls were all good too. The service was great. Our waitress was very nice and attentive with water, tea, etc... Overall a very pleasant surprise for a tired family heading home from a day of skiing up north. read more

Tofu bean curd is still great but they really need to work on their sushi. The spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and spicy crab maki all taste the same and it's not a good taste. If you're going to offer sushi, you need to make it fresh and crisp tasting or stick to the Chinese food. read more

I would give zero stars if at all possible. This is the worst Chinese food that I have ever eaten. I've heard rumors that noodles are left sitting out over night and that they have been reused. I very rarely feel motivated to write a review of a restaurant but I was sufficiently irritated after eating here that I feel compelled. First when we walked In, the lady behind the counter couldn't be bothered to look up from what she was doing to greet us - when she finally did she just kind of looked at us as if to say what do you want - then sort of dismissively gestured for us to take a seat. We sat at the table for a while - no menus- a waitress came and asked if we were ready to order - we said no we hadn't even gotten menus yet. Then when we asked a few questions about the menu the first woman made faces as if what we were asking for was disgusting to her. My boyfriend ordered off the sushi menu I ordered off the Chinese menu. His sushi came within a normal time, then we proceeded to sit at the table for over 30 mins waiting for my food to come! I ordered lo Mein and a crispy tofu dish - the lo mein came about 30 mins after my boyfriends sushi entree then the tofu didn't come for an additional 15 mins!!! I was just about to go tell them to forget about it when it finally came out. Then we had to wait another like 10 mins after finishing for someone to come see if we wanted a check. They never did - we had to walk up to counter to pay. I should clarify we were one of only two tables full at the restaurant so it's not as if they were super busy. The food was mediocre at best - but the service was absolutely terrible! Oh and bathrooms are disgusting - looks like someone just dumped the contents of their garage in the hall by the bathroom - literally a treadmill sitting back there! One of the least professional restaurants I've ever been to. The greasy spoon Chinese take outs in Brooklyn have more class than this place! read more

Please don't be mistaken. This is a good restaurant but I feel at times there is inconsistencies in the food. I recently was a patron and they didn't have the heat on, we were freezing. The tea that was brought to the table was weak and cold. By the time our food arrived, it was cold because the restaurant was cold. We had a dish that had shrimp and lobster and there was a bad piece of shrimp. Sad to say that although this is the best for miles in the area but can't see myself visiting this establishment again. read more

Absolute favorite restaurant. I've been dining there for about 12 years. The sushi is always fresh and I adore the chicken broccoli. The MSG levels are severely low so I never feel sick afterward. The first time my boyfriend and I ate here, it was in the evening and was spectacular. Food was great and impressive presentation, service was attentive... so I began going there for lunch. I continue to go there for lunch because it's the cheapest food in town, but there's a reason for that. As soon as you walk in, there's this little kid that's always there and has the run of the place. He even rides his bike around the floor. Also, he'll come to your table and just watch you eating. The first table you see is covered in crap and is like a little play area for him. That kid needs to go! Also, the sushi on display is very old looking, even though it tasted great when we had it. DO NOT GO HERE! 2 people in the party. Almost 1 hr for one meal to come out & then almost 25 mins til the other one arrived. One very young and over worked waitress for 5 tables of guests and countless persons waiting for take-out. It even took 45 mins for our beverage (a coke) to be brought out- to which we said nothing but thank you. The lemon chicken sauce tasted exactly to a dish of water with one slice of lemon in it!! The quality of the other person's chicken was on the rubbery side- although the General Taos sauce was good he said. AND...the big picture here is that for the E N T I R E one & a half hours we were seated, there was the biggest screaming match, yelling back & forth all taking place in the kitchen which was highly obvious to everyone and it never stopped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Soo unprofessional. Guests were laughing, most likely after the shock of it wore off. I explained to the "manager"?? that the sauce tasted just like my glass of water and I would not be eating it at all and that we were done! We paid for the one semi-eaten meal & left a correct tip & will NEVER return here. Uggggggh!! Too many other decent places to spend time & money. Oh, and did I mention a 'helper' they finally called in who came to work with the heavy black sports marks under her eyes, then tried to wipe it off and smudged BOTH of her cheeks with it and comes out with her face now smeared black to help wait tables. this place is great! the owners have been here for over 15 years! the food is amazing! my friends and i always go there for our chinese food! besides chinese food the people who work there are great. it's a family business so we see the whole family here almost everyday. they're even open on holidays other restaurants would close on, such as christmas, new years, easter, and other holidays. as far as i know they're only closed on thanksgiving. i know that the family's eldest son and daughter have worked there since they were both around 8 or 9! the entire family works super hard and tries to make your experience enjoyable. the sushi is pretty new to the restaurant, but the amazing thing is that the family's daughter is the sushi chef. i swear she's just as good as the professionals who go to culinary school for this talent. sure the children are found on their computers and games a lot, especially when they're not busy,but what else can you expect from students in a restaurant. i remember the owner's son believes the restaurant is like his 2nd home and i understand why. they're there everyday and don't go home till the restaurant closes, yes even on a school night. this place has survived a terrible fire, but a year after the fire it was rebuilt and doubled in size!!! i definitely recommend this place if you're in the mood for chinese food or sushi! =d read more
