I Do agree with other reviews for here. The food was very good. Got the triple delight in garlic sauce and first all chicken and roast pork were cut very thick and plenty of shrimp and a lot of sauce, which other places can get cheap on. All veggies were pretty fresh and not cooked to mush. White rice was fine, not mush or dried out. For fried crab sticks, first place I been too, that wrap them in spring rolls then fry them as opposed to a tempura batter. It's better since it's more crab than fried batter. Overall worth the drive to try them. Also the staff was pretty friendly, it did not feel like I was bothering them to order, which other take out places give out that vibe. read more

Best Chinese in the area circa 2024! Honestly, everything is good, but we love the crab Rangoon, vegetable lo mein, sesame chicken, spicy pineapple chicken, hot and sour soup, and boneless spare ribs for example. Very friendly woman at the counter and some great chefs behind it, including that woman! You should eat here if you've been looking for good Chinese food. Pretty much takeout only, very little area for sitting. Not a complaint, just for your information. read more

Reliably the best Chinese takeout in the area. The fried dumplings are so good that when my friend and I share takeout, we get an order to share, and we each get our own order for "leftovers". If you really wanna go crazy though, the fried wantons are even better. The ribs are done just right, too. All the standard American Chinese dishes are there, and everything is always very good. My go-to is chicken and cashews and I'm a big fan of how they chop all the veggies into cubes and then the chicken pieces are larger. To me this is exactly what you want from a Chinese takeout. They aren't trying to do anything unique or fancy, they're making the dishes you expect, perfectly. There can be a wait on the weekends, so make sure to call ahead. read more

This is middle-of-the-road Chinese food. Hot and sour soup was good. Sesame chicken and General tso combination plates were barely ok. Pork fried rice should be an easy thing to get right even in a place like this, but it was far from good. Barely any discernable pork, and completely lacking any flavor. This is the best Chinese restaurant in the area. The food has been consistently good. I always order it no MSG not too much oil. The portions are big and the quality of the food is good to very good. The beef and pork I've had has been flavorful and of a good quality. The dumplings are done just right. The shrimp toast is very good. Definitely go here to take out your Chinese food and bring it home. Don't even bother with the takeout place in new Paltz or the awful China House. I really enjoy Chinese Gourmet Kitchen. I make it a habit to stop in once or twice a month and have been for the past 3.5 years. Not to discredit anyone's reviews but there General Tso's is the best in the area!! The staff is very friendly. They make it an effort to give good service even though they are a takeout only place. If I could give them 10 stars I would! Food is great! To be honest when we first moved to Rosendale in 2017 we did not even give them a second glance as the plaza that they are located in is not the best "looking" so we were kind of scared to try them. But boy am I glad we finally did! The food is amazing! I have never had a bad dish! While I am vegetarian, my spouse does eat chicken and never once did she get a "funky bit". Also, while prices of other take out places have pretty much gone up by (at least) $2 each dish - Chinese Gourmet Kit (pretty much) stayed the same. I can not recommend this place enough! read more

A good local Chinese restaurant. The place is small so don't plan on eating in. They only have one table. The full kitchen is visible from behind the counter so you can watch your food get prepared. It's a little entertainment while you're waiting Prices are good. They have combination plates all for under $10 each which include meat, rice, soup, and an egg roll. We usually go with these because you get a lot of food for a great price. I've had both the sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken plates and was satisfied with the both of them. No complaints here. This place is worth a stop if you're in town and in the mood for some good Chinese, but it's not anything special to go out of your way for. I don't review often but I have lived in the area for 4 years now and get takeout from here probably once a month and my wife and I have never been disappointed. We usually get a couple of their combo plates (entree, fried rice, soup, and egg roll)for dinner and when we don't want soup the will give you an extra egg roll instead for no extra charge. Ingredients are fresh and delicious. I have joked with the woman at the counter that they should charge a bit more but by now they haven't lol. If you want good inexpensive Chinese take out you can't go wrong here. Ask for the home made mustard ( no charge). I saw someone mentioned that they dont have brown rice but I always get brown rice for my wife. read more

As a resident of Rosendale I hate to say it, but don't bother. The food is decent, but if you ever place an order and they say it's going to take more than 10 minutes, I have experienced numerous times when it's been 50 minutes to over an hour. My wife and I are happy to have a Chinese restaurant in Rosendale. We just had our second take-out meal from the Chinese Gourmet Kitchen. The Shrimp Lo Mein was good. The fried scallops were very good! The vegetable spring rolls are mediocre - and we passed on them the second time around. The establishment is very clean and the staff, courteous. Our order was ready for pickup fifteen minutes after we placed the order. This has now become our Chinese takeout go-to place in the area. Our local Asian restaurant was closed unexpectedly one weekend and my brother suggested this place in Rosendale .. OMG! My boyfriend and I loved our dinner. Great price-a lot for our money and it was delicious. We got the sesame chicken- it comes with pork fried rice and won ton soup (that was amazing), you can switch that up as my boyfriend got egg drop soup and loved it-egg roll and broccoli (personally I would like a tad more broccoli), it was more than we could eat- yeah leftovers! This is basically a take-out place. My girl friend and I both had the chicken with broccoli with white rice and egg roll combination. Unfortunately, they do not offer Brown Rice, which would be my preference, if they offered it! The dishes were very good and the rice was properly cooked! The egg rolls were also good. It should be noted that they give very large portions of food. They sell Snapple juices, which are excellent! They do not accept credit or debit cards....strictly cash, only! It is a shame that the Chinese Gourmet Kitchen isn't located in New Paltz, New York, where I live, as two of the Chinese restaurants in New Paltz are not very good, namely, Great Wall Kitchen and the China House. read more
