8 + they gave us some an extra fried wontons!! Was great price and good flavors!
Jeff Y.

I will be honest this has always been just an OK place for Chinese food in central florida however they were so nice and helped me pick the best variety of dishes. They were on time and even gave me some utensils, napkins, and sauces! Their Party Trays were great value over other places or even cooking dishes ourselves and their service put them over the top! I would highly recommend them from a price perspective, their friendliness, and then just being so helpful picking their best dishes. We had 50+ people and ordered 8 party trays. And they were even nice enough to provide us and extra tray of fried wontons. So nice very happy with them they saved us a lot of time and money compared to other options out there and our guests enjoyed it.

Steamed Chicken dumplings

I am never disappointed when I order from China Taste. I have tried their sesame chicken, boneless spare ribs, pepper steak and a few other meats plus their steamed chicken dumplings and fried rice. I am picky with my Chinese but the food here is flavorful. I like to order at least 10 minutes before I arrive. The establishment is small so there's no way you will be eating there. They do not have seating. Cons: They are closed on Mondays.

Schezuan chicken with PFR (no peas n carrots) added green onions, beansprouts and eggs.

They are always willing to make my rice anyway I want. I always ask for no peas and no carrots, and to add green onions, bean sprouts and egg to the rice. They are always willing to accommodate and it comes out so delicious! They are, in my opinion better than some New York Chinese restaurants.

Hot And Sour Soup! Delicious!

Excellent!! Reminded me of NY. Everything was so good. EVERYTHING!! Called and picked up. The restaurant is closed to walk in. Just pay and pick up at the window.

Egg scrambled in a blender soup

please save your money and go anywhere else. My husband and I ordered to-go for a late dinner because we moved to the area recently and haven't been able to try a lot of the Chinese/asian restaurants here. Ordering two dishes, a soup and two egg rolls, and $30 later, we came home to open what could only be explained as a rushed, unseasoned, uncooked, and bland disaster. Literally everything looked like a it was thrown into a blender and then into a pot of water to boil, with some raw peanuts thrown on top. The egg drop soup wasn't even edible. Disgusting. I never post yelp reviews, unless I am pretty upset about how bad my food was. I will post the pictures to give you my point of view at this moment. I am calling the establishment first thing in the morning for a refund, because this isn't edible.

The large pepper steak with only 4 pieces of meat.

This place used to be really good. Now, not so much. I ordered pepper steak and pork fried rice. The pepper steak was only 4 pieces of steak, for the large order and the rest was onions and peppers. Basically I could have done this at home. The rice was uncooked and tasted like old oil, like when you go to a fair and get the smell of old oil...just like that! I'm not even going to post the pictures of the veggie noodles and honey chicken. It was disgusting. If you can, avoid this place.

Great, choose the closest option to New York in Saint Cloud. Their portions are generous and the food tastes great.

The food isn't good. Look elsewhere. Customer service is good but doesn't outweigh the subpar food.

If my girls love the boneless spare ribs, they are the place to go. They are quick to serve and friendly.

My favorite part is you can do flights. I ordered three soup and two slider flight. Soups: tomato basil and lobster bisque. Both were good alone but they mixed well too. The bisque was one of the better ones I've had. I could actually taste the basil in the tomato basil. Sliders: chicken salad and pimento cheese. Both were good, but alone without soup they're just ok. The best part of the sliders is they come on Hawaiian rolls. I would definitely go again since I love soup.

**INITIAL REVIEW** I…read morelike to consider myself, at times, a connoisieur of soups. I love them all, and I don't even mean just the ones most people know of, but ones that are often passed over simply because they are not known. Good example: the savory cold soups that are meant to be cold, not just a hot soup you serve cold because you're lazy to wait a minute for it to warm up in a microwave. I will even go as far as to say that I love chili with beans... and without. Doesn't matter. It is a chucky soup. I like creamy soup. I like chunky soup. I like chunky and creamy soup. I like soup... and kudos to anyone who got the classic Eddie Murphy stand-up comedy joke right there. Anyways, The Soup Shop in, what I will call the part of Melbourne between Suntree and Melbourne Major (where Historic Downtown Melbourne) is located, right near the Eastern Florida State College Melbourne campus, is the original location (that I know of). I have been a couple of times, and every single time, it has been great. As a matter of fact, the Soup Shop answers that question I've asked which is, "What if there was a restauant that served an array of soups I can choose from?" Questioned answered and with flying colors, too. Pertaining to its ambiance, the Soup Shop doesn't exactly stand out compared to some of the decor these new restaurants seem to push as part of their experience. Instead, their decor is simplistic, but they so happen to really promote and push one particular artist as her paintings are all over the walls of the restaurant. As for the soup, I decided to get the flight, which is a sample (flight) size of three soups of your choice. Certain soups do have a specialty upcharge, specifically the bisques, and some can't be made in such because of how they are prepared, specifically the ramen. Despite that, there are a wide array of soup choices to choose from. You now, chunky soup, creamy soup, chunky and creamy soup. And to be serious for a moment, they also have soups that cater to special dietary needs. I saw a whole cooler full of ready-to-warm-up soups for bariatrics. As for the prices, they are not bad all. I think the soup flight was about $12, which is not bad at all for three soups a little bigger than a cup but smaller than a bowl. They also serve other food items such as sandwiches and desserts. My suggestion: the grilled cheese. Definitely pair it with the tomato soup. Ultimately, I am going to give the OG Soup Shop four out of five stars. They were outstanding the two times I went, but I need to try more of their food to see if they are consistent... because most people know that my fifth star is awarded after reviews (unless I've been to a business more than let's say five times) and they are consistent. I truly think The OG Soup Shop will be consistent, but you never know.

Soup Shop - West Melbourne - Chicken buffalo sandwich

Soup Shop - West Melbourne

(24 reviews)

**INITIAL REVIEW **…read more The Soup Shop located in central Melbourne, which I will say is the area between Eau Gallie and Suntree, is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in the mid-Melbourne area, the area between Eau Gallie and Suntree. I mean, it is a restaurant that sells soup, and I mean more than one soup or even more than the common numbers of two to five soups. Think twenty soups or more. Ergo, when I found out that another Soup Shop location would open in West Melbourne, FL, I was excited. Not only would one of my favorite restaurants have another location available, but this one so happens to be closer to me. The question is if this new location would be as good as the OG. Despite not being a 1-to-1 of excellence to the OG, this new location is still excellent. Though an address is provided, the new Soup Shop location is located in the Palm Crossing Shopping Center a.k.a. Publix Shopping Plaza West Melbourne on Palm Bay Rd. (because to be fair, all the best shopping plazas in Florida happen to be Publix shopping plazas). If it helps, the new Apocalypse Coffee Roasters location is also in the same plaza. Upon entering the locale, it is like walking into a cozy nook you'd like to sit in and enjoy a book. Multiple two-person seating is available up front with one on the eastside. I usually sit on the eastside table as it is closest to the fountain dispenser, as all fountan drinks have free refills. As for service, the ladies working there are great, especially the team lead/manager who works on weekdays. I definitely like how she initiates conversation by asking about the t-shirt you are wearing. I was wearing my "EXPLORE" shirt and she asked me what it is I am exploring. Usually, it would be geocaches and/or letterboxes, but at the time, soup flavors! Which brings me to the six flavors of soup I had via the flight. Yes. The Soup Shop serves flights (and that is all the locations from what I know, too). I had the Dragon Stew, chili, chicken gumbo, tomato soup, creamy garlic tomato soup, and she crab bisque. Details of the soups are in the pics, but definitely loved the tomato soups especially with their fantastic grilled cheese sandwich they have on their menu. And on a sidenote: the restroom was unisex and clean. Definitely no drips on the floor or anything like that. Ultimately, I am going to give this Soup Shop - West Melbourne, four out of five stars. All and all, they are excellent, but we'll have to see if they are consistent. If they are consistently excellent, not perfect, just excellent, they'll get their fifth star for consistency.

Everything about this…read moreplace was phenomenal (aside from their tiny parking lot). The parking is a little tricky but well worth trying to get a spot because the food is delicious here. Tiny hole in the wall but once you're inside there is a very nice amount of seating, both tables and a barstool area to sit at. I placed an order and proceeded to sit at the bar area and wait for my food. Once it came out (super fast despite how many people were there), I understood why the sandwiches here are a little on the pricier side. The Ya-Mon which is jerk chicken, sweet plantains, pork rinds, jalapeno pesto, mango jam, gouda, jerk lime mayo, was heavenly. All the flavors blended in perfectly and the bread was so soft. The lime mayo was outstanding! It was about $16 and we'll worth every penny. The staff was super friendly and got everything cooked and sent out to each table very quickly. I will say if you come here during peak times, be ready to take the order to eat in your car or somewhere else because the tables filled up insanely fast while I was here!
