I have been going to China Sun for many years. With 3 boys, volume is important. Last month I went and did not notice that the hostess was not there Were seated by gentleman at register. It soon became apparent there were no waitresses, none at all. Also no stir fry man . The ribs were burned into briquettes. The salt and pepper prawns also burned. Attempted to request a partial refund but the one person there did not understand English. Never again! read more

What happened to China Sun buffet? I have loved them for many years but all of a sudden their food has changed. Everything sucks now. They must have gotten a new cook because everything is bad. I won't be going back. read more

Ew and save your money. When I tell you all the food was cold and gross, it was. I honestly want my refund back lol that's how horrible it was. A fast food place would be x1000 better than here. Save your money. read more

There's a lot of negative reviews for this place but I didn't buy it, decently priced, they were on TOP of keeping the food filled up and fresh, the food for the most part was pretty damn good literally the only thing I didn't like was the kimchi, besides that all of the staff were super nice, bubbly soda, good meat. Very good bang for your buck. read more

I went to eat this morning and I found a piece of metallic fiber for the dishes ON MY FOOD it was not in the plate my spoon or fork it was specifically on the Japanese style chicken other observation I did was that the plates were not clean at all and the restroom had a bad smell this was one of my favorite places not sure if will come back read more

3.5 stars Typical Chinese American buffet food. It satisfies my hunger and my chinese food craving. I recommend the bbq/grill where you get the raw food and bring t over to the cook. The cook fries it for you in less than five minutes. The house made sushi was decent as well. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of the sushi. There were many food options including chinese and American food. There was also a salad and fruit bar, along with dessert. However, the desserts looked unappealing and old, so I did not try it. Additionally, I was thinking of getting some chocolate pudding but then a cook comes over with a huge can of chocolate pudding and carelessly dumps it in the container. That repelled me from trying the chocolate pudding. Their fruit was alright some were canned some were fresh. The watermelon was very sweet and fresh. Overall, the food was good not great. read more

Absolutely the worst place ever they have terrible food and the most uncomfortable chairs ever do not eat here ever

I don't expect high-end food at this place, but there was no snow-crab. Seems as though that is no longer available. The food is just your average Chinese buffet quality. They had no white rice though! The bench seats are very uncomfortable, if you have back issues. read more

We dine there often, Service is quiet and efficient. A tip is appreciated. Good food lots of choices! I get my monies worth! read more

China Sun Buffet - Smooth Johnny! - Chinese Near Me - Springfield, Oregon

Hadn't been since prior to covid..took my inlaws and wife to dinner here and holy cow talk about a nose dive. Food was absolutely horrible. Service was great but talk about a bad meal. Such a shame as they used to be good. read more

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants in the area! Affordable, friendly staff, and as with most buffets the dishes hit about 9 out of 10 most of the time. The ambiance is cozy and the place is clean. Love the tranquil Asian music they play and the little quoi pond in the entryway! Come hungry! read more

Great food, period. Been doing take out for years and it's always been good. No complaints. Keep up the good work

I give no stars !! I am a business owner, I should have went with my gut feeling! Nasty! Fishy tasting shrimp! Not good service, when I complained I wasn't offered a discount or money back and I had to pay $40 for 3 bites of sushi, and dried out food. I couldn't even get pot stickers because they were shriveled up and completely dried out. I WILL NEVER GO BACK and I will tell everyone I know not to go! NASTY!! read more

Had lunch today ($11.49, with soda). Very good buffet, lots to choose from. Items were replenished in a timely manner. Includes a Mongolian grill which is a nice touch. Service was 'okay'. Place was clean. Bathroom was clean. I'll be back, better than many Chinese buffets. Thank you for your time. read more

I really enjoyed this place! I'm a very picky person and it can be really difficult to find a place to stay. I'm glad i went here for Lunch!! read more

Perhaps I'm being a little too critical giving an all-you-can-eat buffet two stars. After all, they aren't normally known to be world class eateries. And as a general rule of thumb, if you're paying twelve dollars for unlimited grub... Chances are that the quality and/or atmosphere might be somewhat suspect. China Sun Buffet checks all the usual boxes in terms of what you'd expect. Shadey location off of a busy highway? Check. Worn down building exterior with chipped paint? Check. Dilapidated interior seating with funky smells? Double check. From the time I walked into the building until I departed the establishment, I maybe shared two full sentences with the staff. That's not to say that they rude, because they weren't. The just seemed... preoccupied. The food itself was pretty bland, although there was a large variety to choose from. One of my gripes was that there was zero selections on spices to add flavor. So to wrap it up, if you're looking to stuff your face with subpar Asian food, China Sun Buffet checks out. Just don't expect too much out of it. And after everything is said and done, be prepared to feel a little on the disappointed side. read more

Good food! Good service! The buffet has a decent selection and they have a cook that will stir fry it fresh!

FIVE TIMES HERE, and EVERY TIME the Meat and Squid cooked at the Mongolian Grill Station is PERFECT. Squid is one of the most difficult to cook proteins, and they have it nailed. Again, this is otherwise a rather ordinary cheap Chinese AYCE Buffet. I keep coming back and probably will continue. read more

Ordering online was very easy but wasn't the best part of the experience. Employees were friendly and efficient and picking up the order made for a good experience. Their black pepper chicken is absolutely delicious and speaks to their others options as well I'm sure. Highly recommend coming here to experience for yourself. read more

Food was ok, some tastes as if the oil in the fryer was old... Hated the owners little kids running around out of control through out the place.. Out of control and no discipline. Please control kids...this isnt a playground! Family owned or not geez.. I wont go back read more

The waitress was really nice, but I feel the food selection and quality has gone down since the pandemic. At least in my opinion. It should not be so expensive for such a small selection of food. read more

I visited this restaurant in September of 2006, after hearing for years about how wonderful it was from friends and family. I have to say, I was less than impressed. I have never eaten at a Mongolian Grill-style restaurant, so I wasn't even sure what that was all about. I also don't really love buffet restaurants, so while they had a large selection of stuff, most of it wasn't my thing - seafood and stuff. The food wasn't bad, but didn't come close to being as good as Far Man, my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. read more

First off, it's a Chinese Buffet, what town doesn't have one? That being said, it's one of my favorite restaurants when I want a lot of Chinese. They have two full serving bars of various Chinese food, a salad bar, a Mongolian Grill, a Sushi area, and a dessert corner. What's not to like about variety? The worst part is not being able to figure out how to get as much of one item as you want without filling your stomach capacity and feeling like you didn't get enough of those other two preferred items you were eyeballing! (I strongly recommend the Coconut Shrimp as a definite highlight.) The only reason I ding this site a star is due to the fact I know two different individuals who have gotten sick/food poisoning from eating here (most likely due to not turning over the food trays). HOWEVER, they both went at off-hours/late nights (and this has not happened to me in my 20+ times going over the years). Stick to typical lunch and dinner hours and you will have nooo trouble at all. China Sun is my #1 go-to whenever I'm in the mood for a buffet in this town. read more

They have a vast array of food and desserts for a buffet it was kept very clean with a peaceful atmosphere. The staff was kind and very eager to help. I would have given this place 5 stars except some of the hot food was cold other than that everything was delicious! read more

Fabulous Chinese dishes. Quiet and serene atmosphere. Freshness in all food items. Glazes and sauces expertly prepared. You won't be disappointed! Love the chowmein and veggies. Very crisp and meat is carefully watched so nothing gets dry. The servers will help but give tremendous privacy so you can enjoy the entire experience. Beautiful coi pond at entrance as you walk in. Gives an atmosphere of serenity. Very clean place too. You will want to bring family and friends here. Mary M read more

I have to say that was the worst food ever, even the ice cream was gross, meat didn't even seem real, I will never eat there again

Wanna take a night off from cooking, this is the place to go. Offering a variety of food that caters to everyone's taste. So glad they finally opened up for dine in service since the lockdown last year, hopefully they will bring the Mongolian grill and BBQ lamp skewers back soon. read more

China Sun Buffet - Jalapeño and bell pepper clams with spicy black beans. - Chinese Near Me - Springfield, Oregon

Yikes. We went here on a recommendation from a coworker. He said "I know, they have a bad rating on yelp but it's so good!". I should have known better. We came here on a Thursday night... thinking the food would be fresh. My first fried rice was alright. I went back for more and it was dried out and gross. The sesame chicken was off to me. I described it to my husband as "dirty armpit" tasting. They had sushi, which my husband tried. He regretted it immediately. It did not taste good. I didn't try one thing there that I really enjoyed. We both left with stomach aches, not the kind from overeating. We are so disappointed. read more

Total nightmare. Was seated in banquet room with minister preaching and then SINGING. About 20 attendees. Food looked old, not fully cooked. No one checked the buffet AT ALL during my visit. Mongolian barbecue portion; all meat thawed and at room temperature. SHUDDER. Left without eating or paying. Was chased into parking lot and SWORN AT. read more

Driving through Eugene and craving Chinese food. We saw the sign and decided to try it. Very good buffet, lots of choices, hot and fresh. Mongolian BBQ and sushi, though we didn't try it. All the dishes had very distinct flavors, not just everything in one sauce. Recommend! read more

I was super excited to go eat relax and enjoy some food until I got there. As soon as I walked in the server at the front stared me up and down. Did what's she normally does ask how many people so I thought we were going to be seated like normal but instead asked us what we wanted to drink and then proceeded to look at me and tell "you pay now". I was super confused and asked why and she just said again "you pay now". So confused payed and then was seated. I proceeded to watch as other people walked into the restaurant and were seated without paying or any questions. When leaving I asked why I was the only one that had to pay before eating and she said because young people eat fast and leave and that old people eat slow and take long. We were also told it matters on how busy it is but the business did not change throughout the hour we were there. Not a single other young/old/whole family's paid before they got seated. read more

They used to be pretty good, but not anymore. I went for lunch, the hot food was cold, even the soup. The only thing that was hot was the Mongolian BBQ, as they make it to order, but the meat tasted spoiled. The soda was even flat. If you're looking for a Chinese buffet, don't pick this one. The only thing that was somewhat to temperature was the cold food. The only thing good was the fortune cookie...the meal was not worth $18.99 that included the flat soda... very disappointed read more

Service is okay, but overall the food is not AT ALL appealing. Noodles are cold, meats are barely warm and everything looks like it's been there for forever... "California rolls" are not even rolled to perfection, and they use imitation crabs that taste like they just brought from Winco Foods and smashed it and slammed it into a roll... beyond horrible taste in my mouth. No seasoning/anything at all. Not a lot of variety of foods and it just didn't look appealing. But they do have a cute fish pond when you walk in. Lunch price starts at $8.99/adult read more

Worst Chinese buffet ever. Cold and tasteless food. Bad hospitality. Never go back again.

Had lunch there and it was good. Food was fresh and hot. A good choice of dishes and the price was very good. Service was great. My glass of soda never got below half full and never had used dishes on our table. Probably would try another place but would come back. read more

You know what? Sometimes I just want a nice simple Chinese-American buffet on a friday night and China Sun Buffet gave me just that. It had everything I had hoped for based on other Chinese-American buffets I've been to: Chinese dishes in the American style, (a unique regional style compared to other regional styles such as Sichuan, a little bit of Japanese sushi, a section for Mongolian Barbecue, Tsingtao beer and a decent desert section. The staff were nice, the decoration was nice and the food --while a little lukewarm at times-- was nice too. Nothing mind blowing, but nothing bad either. Satisfying enough for me when I crave Chinese-American again. read more
