This is one of my all time favorite places period. At the very least in the realm of Chinese…read morerestaurants they are a cut above all others. The food is fantastic! I recommend the crispy duck or Dragon and Phoenix entrees. As a big bonus they serve around 8 varieties of loose tea! This is the real deal, not just some sad little tea bags that contain tea dust. As a big loose leaf tea guy this is a huge plus. I recommend the Red Robe or Tiguanyin oolong but they also have green and black varieties. Tea is served in a generous 32 oz pot. The trick is that you have to know when to pull the steeper out so it does no get bitter. Taste little bits along the way as it steeps, but for a pot this large the oolong can usually go about 3 min or for the rolled Tiguanyin types up to 4 maybe 5 minutes. The staff is also extremely friendly. I live in Nashville 7+ hours away and they remember me whenever I stop in. I found them while traveling to PA for a gig. My friend and I did a quick search to find non-chain food along the highway and it was getting late past 9pm and in the country you don't find many non-chain options let alone good ones. This place is truly a gem. Don't miss it!

The only thing I can say good about this place is the over priced cream cheese rangoons that was supposed to be crab rangoons that they told me they had 3 times.

La Puerto is closed on Mondays. We discovered this while pulling up to the restaurant. Great Wall…read morewas "Plan B." I am not sure that the wall is great. "Average Wall" is more accurate. But this little hole in the wall is adequate when you want lunch and don't want to drive to Waynesboro or somewhere else. The choices are limited. No salad. But they had lo mein, "fried" rice, egg drop & sweet and sour soup, veggie fried rolls and other dishes. The string beans had faux shrimp in them. The desserts are great. There is a variety of fruit, pudding, jello (a must at all buffets) and serve yourself ice cream. Our server couldn't communicate with us beyond drink flavors. Lunch for two was $22. No complaints. The restaurant is inside the strip mall by Kroger.

I would like to share our experience at Great Wall Chinese Restaurant in Staunton, VA today…read more My sister and I came in for lunch and were waiting to be acknowledged and served. The waitress saw us come in, but instead of taking our order, she went to assist customers who came in after us. We politely said, "Excuse us," to let her know that we had been waiting. She responded by telling us to hold on. We then mentioned the situation to a gentleman at the restaurant. He explained that she was the only waitress and that she was doing her best. We understood that being short-staffed can be difficult, but we ultimately decided to leave because we did not feel comfortable staying. After we left, my sister called the restaurant and asked to speak with a manager so that we could respectfully address what happened. The person on the phone said, "I can't hear you," and then ended the call. We are sharing this because customer service and communication matter. We understand that restaurants can be busy and employees can have difficult days, but customers should still feel acknowledged and treated respectfully. We hope the management takes this feedback into consideration and looks into what happened. This post is simply to share our experience and give the restaurant an opportunity to address the situation.
