Yummy & fast - My home delivery was on time. We ordered General Taos and Spring Rolls, which were very good.

Great Wall Chinese Restaurant in Staunton VA has been a favorite restaurant of ours for over 20 years so I feel as if I can make the following comments. IT IS PAST TIME for some DEEP CLEANING and an overall face lift. AT least replace the torn entrance rug and replace the broken tiles at the front door. We observe staff sweeping the floor but when was the last time it was MOPPED AND WAXED? The chairs need attention and wall paper is peeling throughout the entire restaurant. Please clean the ceiling fan blades and the air return duct. There are years worth of old dust easily visible. Throw away or clean the red pineapple hanging from the ceiling that is covered with years old dust. We always enjoy the lunch and dinner buffet. Two can eat for $25.00. The food is always good, usually hot and fresh and we enjoy the meal until we get to looking at the dining room area and notice all dirt, dust and dinginess. So please please clean your dining areas and like I said it is past time for a face lift. I sort of shudder to think what the kitchen may look like but trust the Staunton Restaurant inspector is on top of that. read more

La Puerto is closed on Mondays. We discovered this while pulling up to the restaurant. Great Wall was "Plan B." I am not sure that the wall is great. "Average Wall" is more accurate. But this little hole in the wall is adequate when you want lunch and don't want to drive to Waynesboro or somewhere else. The choices are limited. No salad. But they had lo mein, "fried" rice, egg drop & sweet and sour soup, veggie fried rolls and other dishes. The string beans had faux shrimp in them. The desserts are great. There is a variety of fruit, pudding, jello (a must at all buffets) and serve yourself ice cream. Our server couldn't communicate with us beyond drink flavors. Lunch for two was $22. No complaints. All three times I was here I got the buffet and it was good but not great Chinese food. Heavy on the chicken options with every common appetizer available. Two types of soups and a good dessert bar area. Service was fast and they did make efforts to replace empty dishes in a timely manner. Decor is strictly fast casual but they have a full menu to choose from if you're not there for the buffet. read more

Ordered from them yesterday and then again today. Mentioned to the guy at counter, tattoos (roses) mid 20s, that yesterday's order was shorted. We were only given one rice for two meals and only 10 donuts. The online says 15 c. per order. When mentioned the guy defensively said "well did you call? We put all issues up on this board" I then noticed a huge board with tons and tons of papers with people names and owed food. Hmmm might have an issue there. He also stated that we couldn't have been shorted on donuts because they are prepackaged in packs of 10. Nice to know your online menu is wrong. No apology no nothing. Restaurant is run down as it is. You better make up for it with service and accuracy. Fail! Not returning. Other options in town. read more

I ordered for home delivery on a Monday night, so I can't say anything about the dine-in or pick-up experience. This was my first time ordering. Egg roll was good, maybe a bit small. Wonton soup was perfection. Lots of meaty wonton & pretty warm when it arrived. Lemon chicken was DIY with chicken in one container & sauce in another, but both were good. However, the lemons were seeded. Meh. Chicken fried rice was excellent. Prices were reasonable, rounded the order out with a couple of cokes and including delivery charge (?) it was less than $30. Delivery was about 30 minutes and food was hot to very warm, I was happy. I walked out to the driver's car because my front porch light is broke. She was very nice. I used to eat there ( i am local ) and I dare say that it is okay. The desserts are excellent, but the selection is too much to bother at. Love the interior and the coustemer service was excellent. Didn't get bothered too much. Just right conditions. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that I have not gone back for a while due to COVID. read more

This is a really nice restaurant. You really get your money's worth here by all the food they have. It's a local treasure.

The place is old and dated to start. The bar is small and the food they put on it is hard dry and flavorless and what has flavor is gross the waitress was awful never came to clean off table or offer refills on the flat coke drinks. They place give off the dirty feeling we did not have our little ones with us but I looked at the high chairs out of habit most are cracked and very dirty if I was allowed to give negative stars they would be a negative 4 at least run do not eat in this dirty disgraceful restaurant run for you life they should shut the doors GROSS!!! Back a year and a half ago this place had a good buffet. But everytime we have gone recently the food is old and cold. Even with quite a few people there the food wasn't good and a lot of the items were empty. Also the guy at the register telling us to hold on while he texted someone on his phone didnt help. We won't be returning. read more

I'd say a three or maybe a three and a half star rating for this buffet. The food selection is fairly small but what we tried was pretty good. Really no seafood at all to choose from ( there were a few shrimp in one dish) and no sushi to be found anywhere! Service was friendly. Just a so so experience for us overall. read more

Something seems to have changed within the past year. Used to be a lot better, but now is inconsistent. Now and then the food seems overcooked and dry. Makes me wonder if they dont sometimes scoop takeout orders from the buffett that's been sitting. Sure seemed like it. But then other times it's fresh and pretty good. I have always enjoyed their buffet....BUT we ordered delivery last night. Sesame chicken, orange chicken, honey chicken. The chicken was INEDIBLE with all three meals. Hard fried thigh meat, no breast meat. None of us could eat it. Rice and egg rolls were fine but there is no excuse for serving such sorry crap as was the case with the entrees. Very poor food. Many items were "stale". The place was cramped. Got sick 15 minutes after leaving. No stars

This place used to be wonderful. My last visit to the buffet had similar dishes that needed to be replenished and more of them. Lots of chicken gristle. Very disappointed! One employee talked loudly with the others, which made the dinner distracting. read more

My son and I went here tonight....they don't have much of a selection and like others said...dried out food and don't seem to care if the containers stay stocked. We won't be going again....I will drive to our usual place in downtown waynesboro before coming back here. Never again!! read more

Great family restaurant that has been in business since 1990. They have a great buffet, take out and delivery service. Alway order chicken and broccoli, cheese wontons and an egg roll!!! It is always good and ready about 10 mins. read more

I visit the Great Wall restaurant more than I should, but only because it's the only Chinese buffet in town. I've recently started traveling to another city to eat because Great Wall has gotten that bad. They can't manage to keep the food stocked, and frankly, don't seem to care whether the food has been sitting on the hot table for hours on end. I can't even tell you how many times I've had to request a particular food be restocked on the buffet, and these are normal lunch and dinner hours of the day. If another Chinese buffet comes to town, Great Wall is done. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would! There were 4 adults and 3 children, and our bill for the buffet was $72.77!! Half of the items were empty, and many were dried out. I asked them to refill it (there were several other people there as well), but they only filled one item. We all had empty drinks as well, and did not get refills. There were two ladies "working", but they actually sat in a booth playing Pokemon on an iPad and taking pictures on a phone. I will not ever go there again, and I would not suggest it to anyone else either! read more
