What I got (Panang Curry) looks nothing like the picture.

The absolute worst Thai food I've ever had! If you look at what I ordered and what I received, it literally looks like 2 different dishes. It was just peanut curry and dry ass chicken. Not a single vegetable in sight. The wings were undercooked and flavorless, the sauce that came with it made it edible. The rice was the only thing cooked properly. I was in the mood for some spicy Thai food and got bullshit. They didn't even use Thai basil, it was regular basil

Pro: online ordering. Con: food. Passed by this restaurant frequently and decided to finally give this place a try after seeing the many decent reviews here on yelp. I used the online ordering system and got the drunken noodle with chicken and the pad Thai with pork. The drunken noodle was decent with a bit of heat. The biggest disappointment was the pad Thai, it was bland and dry. Waste of 15 dollar the drain. All in all, with one decent and one terrible food it equal to a two star rating of below average but not the worst food I ever had. Also, wouldn't recommend this place to anyone in the future.

I tried something new for me at silk Thai and had the Kao Soi Gai and honestly this might be a new favorite. This is going to make the choice so much more difficult in the future. As always staff and service are lovely. One of my fav restaurants in Cville.

Got the beef salad and the drunken noodle with chicken, duck wrap, and mango sticky rice. Everything was delicious. The salad and noodle was very delicious and flavorful. Maybe the noodles were a tad oily but otherwise it was delicious. I felt the duck wrap could have used more hoisin, I have had better duck wrap. The sticky rice color is blue which is a little odd. But they said it's naturally colored. Very solid Thai food though and I would return for sure.

6 of us had dinner here. We had a variety of items on the menu. The crispy duck was dry. One of us had pineapple duck that was so spicy she had to swap it out for Thai Pad. The spring rolls were delicious. Peanut sauce had ginger in it which made it tasty. We ordered appetizers but the food came out so fast that the table was overloaded; and all the food didn't come out the same time. Two of our party didn't get their good for 5-10 minutes after everyone else had started. There was only one waitress who took our order. The food was served by the kitchen staff. It wasn't a leisurely dinner but we didn't need to wait long for the check. Our waitress got us "to go" containers and but she wasn't able to bus the table.

Glad we stopped by o the way out of town. Friendly service, pleasant music and good food!

I've tried everything else and knew Q Noodles is well reviewed but HK is undefeated. We ordered takeout and decided to try a few different things on their menu. I will say the food came correct and the packaging was clean and tidy. The prices are expensive but the portions are huge. We ordered 2 apps and 2 entrees and couldn't finish all of it. 1 of each is enough for 2 people. The pork steamed buns were our favorite. Not the best I've had ever, but possibly the best in cville. The bun was super light and fluffy and the filling was savory. I prefer mine to be a bit sweeter with a BBQ flavor, so not my all time fav but very good. 8/10 The egg rolls were just fine. Well prepared and cooked. Tasted slightly too oily. The inside was cabbage and either ground pork or chicken. No carrot. The inside was so finely minced it kinda turned into a mush. So the texture was not the best. Hard to distinguish the flavor as well. 5/10 The sesame paste noodles with ground pork was presented beautifully with red cabbage, cucumber, edamame, corn, shredded carrot and cilantro. I think the sesame paste sauce was just too one dimensional, but maybe that's the point. The noodles were overdone so underneath the beautiful rainbow of toppings was just kind of a pile of mushy noodles in a plain sesame paste. After a few bites the earthiness/mushiness of the dish starts to be overwhelming ... not my favorite. 4/10 The general tsos was packaged well and came with white rice a few pieces of steamed brocolli and a ramen egg. The ramen egg was good. The general tsos the chicken was good quality and very fresh. It reminded me of an orange chicken in terms of how their GT tastes. My favorite GT in cville is from Hong Kong and unfortunately this one wasn't as good. The chicken was good quality but the texture was quite soft and not crispy the way I prefer. The sauce was also a bit too sweet for my preference. Overall, a good dish it is enjoyable just not my fav. 6/10 With how much hype they get I was expecting a bit more - perhaps at some point I will try their soup dumplings since they may be the only place in cville that does them. But for $13 for 6 pieces I may just continue to wait awhile considering the rest of their food was fairly average. Overall, a solid spot for average Chinese food. Nothing amazing but will satisfy a craving for well made Chinese food if you are looking in the uva area.

As is often the case on this arcade, the restaurant also has a dedicated set of outdoor seats at the middle of the brick walkway. You'd think all of this would be an upgrade, but no. First, I ordered in advance online to spare myself a wait, not knowing that it was an actual sit-down restaurant. However, upon arriving at the space, there was no one to take an order if I'd wanted to place one, and only rarely did anyone emerge from the back with food. I just took a seat and waited. By the time someone acknowledges my presence after some fifteen or twenty minutes, my food was apparently already ready and just sitting there. I didn't leave a tip as my impression of this place was that they weren't really providing any service. There's nothing wrong with a counter service model rather than full table service, but one way or another they seem not to have figured out what they were doing. Other potential diners also seemed confused. Don't get me wrong, the good was great. My ginger lemongrass noodle soup delivered an explosion of flavors. Would order again. I just hope they improve the customer service experience, because this is a great opportunity for the average local to try some vegetarian Vietnamese food.

I ordered takeout, and a smooth process had been implemented allowing me to quickly grab it. I liked that their online ordering system had a lot of checkboxes to customize things, but was nonplussed when I pulled out my vegetable soup with the "no cauliflower" option (which they clearly wrote on the container to remind themselves) but which did in fact have a bunch of broccoli and cauliflower that imbued the soup with a sulfurous foulness that I was hoping to avoid. Setting that aside, the rest of my food was quite good. Oddly, their curries are more vegetarian-friendly than some of their stir-fry dishes. I ordered my green curry Thai hot, and they delivered a ferocious dish with no questions asked, and a small sachet of extra dried chili that I didn't need to use for this and so saved for other food. The curry with some aromatic Jasmine rice hit the spot. Some vegetable rolls with very fine noodle threads made for a good snack later. I could certainly see coming back, ordering something different, and getting high quality food.

It also came with a Sriracha sauce packet and a small container of chili oil along with the normal variety of noodles, sprouts, fresh herbs, green onions, white onions, jalapeño slices, and a lime wedge. The chicken was tender sliced white meat with no fat, gristle, or bones attached. The broth had a lot of flavor and was delicious. - I also had the shrimp and chive dumplings ($7.00). Not a strong shrimp flavor, but they had a nice crisp on the outside and were tasty. The sauce that comes with the dumplings is absolutely delicious. - My wife had the Bulgogi beef ($14.50). She said it was tender and very delicious. It came with rice, kimchi, and cucumber salad. I just happened to speak to Linh about the cucumber salad and she said this is how she's always made it for her kids and they love it. Well, I'm with her kids and love it too. This was cooked my favorite way, deep fried (not pan fried). This took me back to the gyoza in Japan and the Yaki Mandu I used to get in Korea. Great crispy wrapper with a tender flavorful filling. And again, the sauce that came with it is some of the best I've had. - The kimchi is not overly spicy and has a slight sweetness to it. - The Egg Tarts ($5.50) are good, not overly sweet. Overall, we really enjoyed Nguyen's Kitchen and will go back with friends. It's unfortunate that it sits behind a Taco Bell and is not highly noticeable from the road, otherwise I might have tried it sooner.
