Placed a pick up order for my daughter who is a fan of CAVA and this location, Parking can be challenging with it being tight. The strip has ABC store beside it. The order was placed in the pick up area. It was ready within 10 minutes. The two staff I interacted with were both helpful and friendly. Most of the pick ups were UVA students. The dining room was pretty busy and looked clean. Trash containers were within their boundaries. CAVA offers healthier options and good quality. read more

I had a decent experience at cava and felt like it met my expectations. The food here is pretty decent, I had the harissa avocado bowl and generally liked it. It came over a shredded salad mix, so think shredded Brussels, kale, cabbage, etc. I thought the mix was a bit hard, it was raw so I guess maybe that's healthier but it was a bit too crunchy for my taste. They do have a variety of other options for the salad base, like arugula, romaine, etc. So next time I may try something else. I had the saffron rice as my second base and didn't get much saffron flavor, just tasted like plain rice. The chicken was good, maybe a bit dry, and the portion was a bit small. The hummus and other toppings (pickled onion, corn, cucumber, feta) etc were all good. Simple fresh flavors. The harissa sauce on top was pretty good. Overall it didn't wow me, it definitely met expectations hence the 3/5 stars. The inside is really beautifully decorated, but there was trash on the floor so they could do a bit better job cleaning. Staff was fine, didn't seem particularly bad or good, just again average. That was my overall impression. Prices were also decent. Got out just under $20 for a harissa avocado bowl and a small drink. Lots of handmade drink options (think Paneras charged lemonades) and cool soda options. I think pitas were supposed to come with our bowls but they were left out. Overall an average experience, but a solid healthy bowl with fresh flavors. Personally, I'd probably stick with mezeh up 29 (more topping options) or roots on the corner (more cohesive flavor profiles), but this is certainly a decent addition to cvilles bowl options. The food is okay. It's a little over priced because the food doesn't seem to taste as fresh even though they do cook. Their rice taste and looks similar to chipotle. There is another restaurant not too far from this location called Mezeh that taste a lot more fresher than cava. The service is pretty good at this location. I can't say I would go out of my way to eat cava. read more

What I got was a cup filled with what I can only describe as a substance that looked off, smelled like cleaning fluid, and tasted what I imagine cleaning fluid tastes of (not just soap but almost...caustic?). Cava is one of the places I go when I want something healthy but still filling. I love the greek salad option and my boyfriend loves the tahini caesar. I also like that you can custom make your own bowl. The main thing I would recommend is the pita chips and hummus- life changing! CAVA is one of my new fave "good food fast" places. I am in love with their grain bowls with all the fixings. As other Yelper's have mentioned, it's kind of like a Chipotle set up - you order and select all your toppings, dressings, etc. While I am a meat eater, I usually get the grain bowl with roasted veggies and it's so flavorful and filling. Be sure to get the pita - it's great for dipping. The little brownies are delicious. Trust me, I know they don't look like much but they are fudgy chocolate goodness! If only they were larger, sigh. The staff at this location was friendly and helpful while being very efficient. There's a nice outdoor covered patio with plenty of space to socially distance. Parking seems like it could get tricky at peak times, but we didn't have any trouble around 1pm on a weekday. Cheers! read more

Worst cava i have ever been to. I ordered one bowl at 1245 pm. Estimate says it will be ready at 145 pm. An hour for one bowl. I arrive at 100 pm. 3 people in line. The guy who orders his bowl at 100 pm in the store gets it at 1:10. But sure enough mine comes the full hour after i ordered. Makes no sense. Orders should be filled as they are received. When i left zero people in line - checked online for how long it would take for another bowl...45 minutes. With zero customers. This store is notoriously slow. Wow! I was so impressed by my custom bowl at Cava! Everything tasted so fresh from the cabbage slaw to the lemon herb tahini dressing. My honey harissa chicken was also incredible although it costed an extra $.99! I usually don't finish bowls in one sitting but this one was so delicious that I had to. The bowls come with a warm mini pita and I opted to try one of their drinks, blueberry lavender, that was nice. There is a good amount of seating inside the restaurant. I've had people describe Cava to me as a healthier/better version of Chipotle, and they were right. It's really similar to chipotle as well, how the line is set up and the whole build your own sort of thing. So it's familiar, but different. I ended up just getting a bowl with the rice, chicken, hummus, feta, and some onions. It was delicious. The chicken had excellent flavor. It also just looked pretty, which is kinda of a strange thing to say about food. There were also many options and it seems like you could get really creative with your order. The service was very friendly as well and was happy to help up with any questions we asked, since it was our first time. Dubbed the "Greek Chipotle" by some, CAVA is a unique food journey waiting to be experienced. Upon first entering, you'll find restaurant with modern architecture, lots of stainless steel, and an eclectic mix of music playing. There is a bit of a learning curve with their menu for those new to Greek cuisine, but after a close study and a call to my cousin I was ready to roll (luckily they have menus right as you walk in so you can prepare yourself for what's ahead). In a Chipotle-esque style, you order your bowl or pita and then move down the line selecting your greens and grains, your meats, your spreads and toppings, and then your dressing. The staff is more than willing to explain what you're looking at and to allow you to have a few different spreads, dips, and toppings. I also highly suggest some of the homemade seasonal juices and teas that they offer as they are pretty exquisite. I enjoyed my time here and will absolutely be back! read more

Nice little Mediterranean Chipotle restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seats are metal and are very sucessful in retaining the cold. About half of the inside seating is available for use. I went down the line the easy way and I just ordered the Greek salad bow with a Caesar dressing. Others took the more complicated process of ordering individual items for their bowl. We were pleased with the freshness and taste of our food. Some questioned the amount of meat placed in their bowl and judging their portion of being smaller than advertised. They certainly do give you your due portion of salad dressing. Important point is we were all pleased with the taste and flavor of our selections. read more

In love with this place - my favorite psuedo healthy place in town! As a wannabe healthy person who never succeeded in being healthy, I'm always on the lookout for good food that is yummy and kinda healthy. I found cava when I was out with a friend. It's the kind of Mediterranean you could eat every day. It's Chipotle for Mediterranean but nicer (I also love Chipotle). You can pick a base, dips, protein, toppings and sauce. I usually get the falafel grain bowl (def try the grains base, the saffron rice is quite nice too) and tahini, harissa (spicy) and hummus dips. I also love that they give a nice piece of pita with. And all that $10. They also have some neat juices you should try - I've had cucumber lime/mint and watermelon mint which were both insane. My only wish was that they were in barracks so that I wouldn't have to cross that crazy road. I'd eat here every day if I could! read more

Delicious bowls! So many options and pretty much all the combinations taste good from what I've had. I do feel sort of overwhelmed with the amount of combinations that are possible with all the things you can add, and I'm not always sure how to make the best call so I usually play it fairly safe. Sometimes I think I'm not harnessing the true glory of flavor play available, though. I would usually go for the vegetarian option of just a veggie bowl or falafel, but I have also tried their lamb meatballs and they are delicious! If you feel like adding the upcharge for the lamb, it's definitely worth it. I really appreciate that they try to source some ingredients locally where possible, and I'd love to see them go even deeper into that, though I know they are a large chain and are limited with who they can source from because they need a large supply of everything. They also provide compostable silverware if I'm not mistaken, and they seem to try to be greener than you typical quick-dining experience. I've always been met with friendly faces and helpful service at this Charlottesville location, and that always makes the on-the-spot-bowl-making-decision process less stressful. I have heard that CAVA is slightly more expensive for the amount of food you're getting than other similar eateries in the area (ie: mezeh), but I have never been to mezeh still somehow and I feel like the amount I'm given at CAVA is plenty, and I finish my meal feeling full. The values of the company and the flavor of their food is enough to keep me visiting CAVA. Plus they have covered outdoor seating, which is cool because usually outdoor seating might have umbrellas at best, but they won't keep you dry if it's raining. Under a fully covered dining area you can continue enjoying outdoor eating even if the rain decides to begin midway through your meal. read more

I very much enjoyed this Cava, which is a relatively new addition to the Barracks Road Shopping Center neighborhood. It is right across the street from the edge of Barracks Road Shopping Center and has a fresh, clean, spacious facility. Parking is really hit or miss - sometimes it seems there are tons of spots available but given the sheer amount of traffic that comes through the intersection it's on, easily one of the busiest in Charlottesville, one time I came by and the lot was jam packed and extremely dense. The place itself has a lot of staff there who were friendly and knowledgeable. There were a lot of tables and I found the food to be plentiful, fresh, and tasty. I particularly think it's excellent that Barracks Road Shopping Center now has a healthy fast food option like Cava in its immediate area as the rest of the stores around definitely tilt heavily towards the unhealthy side. During busy lunch hours for those in the immediate vicinity it can be very tough therefore to get anywhere with decent healthy food and which is why this Cava seems so well-placed. read more
