I very much enjoyed this Cava, which is a relatively new addition to the Barracks Road Shopping Center neighborhood. It is right across the street from the edge of Barracks Road Shopping Center and has a fresh, clean, spacious facility. Parking is really hit or miss - sometimes it seems there are tons of spots available but given the sheer amount of traffic that comes through the intersection it's on, easily one of the busiest in Charlottesville, one time I came by and the lot was jam packed and extremely dense. The place itself has a lot of staff there who were friendly and knowledgeable. There were a lot of tables and I found the food to be plentiful, fresh, and tasty. I particularly think it's excellent that Barracks Road Shopping Center now has a healthy fast food option like Cava in its immediate area as the rest of the stores around definitely tilt heavily towards the unhealthy side. During busy lunch hours for those in the immediate vicinity it can be very tough therefore to get anywhere with decent healthy food and which is why this Cava seems so well-placed. read more

Pretty average fast food super mediterranean food chain. As someone who grew up on this style of food I wasn't impressed with Cava, but I definitely can't say the food was bad. Walked in last week with a friend and got a grain bowl with jasmine rice, spicy lamb, and a few toppings. I asked for mine on the side, since I'm not a huge fan of extra saucy rice. The rice and lamb were a bit too lemony for me, but the toppings were fresh. The cucumbers were a bit salty as well. The place itself is very clean and the employees were fast and friendly! Overall an average experience, don't expect high level mediterranean food. read more

Henry Ford has made it plainly into Cville restaurants. Assembly lines of foods, personnel, and eaters, all sliding Right to Left, ingredients chatted up and sequentially added. All discovered efficiency-- Chipotle, Roots, Mezze, now Cava. The car wash of foods. This is the Mezze +Roots combo. Mediterranean 'type' cuisine, built on a base of grain or greens, handed right for meat, falafel, vegg, then sauces amix. If you accept it for what it is, it's tasty and it fills. Kudos to a counterperson that eve, with a remarkably nice manner, manning the first stop on the right. And what a strange location. Outdoor seats that display you to the rugby/barracks traffic stopped at the light waiting to cross Emmett. How do you dress, for traffic corner success? Just eat inside. I love this restaurant because everything is fresh and the selection of ingredients. Think Chipotle, but for Mediterranean food. Also, the options change based on the time of year, which makes each visit different. If your bowl is not overflowing, then you're doing it wrong. The drink options are excellent as well. If you get a chance to check this place out, you must stop. You won't regret it. read more

Cava is such a great option for a quick healthy meal. Think of it as a Mediterranean, better version of Chipotle. We moved to Charlottesville a few weeks ago and already ate here 4 times. They have lots of options for basically every taste. I usually get either meatballs or falafel and they're both delicious. They also have a wide variety of sauces and dressings. Whatever you get just make sure to try their Crazy Feta, it's to die for. I'd eat crazy feta every day of my life if I could. They also have some great selections for drinks! Whenever we went they didn't have a crazy line and the people at the counter were very nice. They also have ample parking in the back. read more

My kids took me here for lunch. I really enjoyed it. The line was long but the system was efficient so we got our food in no time. Everything is very tasty and not too expensive. I would definitely recommend it for an alternative to fast food. I'd go back read more

Delicious! I just really love this place. I love that it is healthy, affordable and tastey! There was only one salad place around here and Cava came around and added some much needed variety to our lives. I've never waited in line and it is ALWAYS super clean (it's literally the first thing I notice everytime I walk in). They have a great outdoor area that is well shaded (necessary for VA summer)! I love the options they give you and I never feeled rushed in line lol! I feel completely free to contemplate every aspect of my meal. read more

When they have enough food and staff this is a good place. But this chain is run like a small time mom and pop at this location with some version of a "gone fishing" sign on the door every few days. I'm marking this a 1 star to try to get Cava's attn to get this location sorted out. Last night it was "we're altering our hours and closing at 7p. door was open, three people working, 6 tables eating outside, 3 people turned away from ordered in 3 minutes at 730p. Silly. Few days ago, 30 people in line. Seemingly enough staff but one person standing at the register ringing up no one, staring at the customers who are staring back. Another guy busy bouncing around but not working the line. And one worker doing the whole line. Hiring is hard which makes training hard, but common sense would indicate if you are doing nothing with a line out the door that is not moving that the first thing to do would be help. If it was a one off bad week, I'd get it, but this happens regularly at this location over the past year. They really just cannot operate smoothly on a consistent basis. read more

I'm a Cava regular, but unfortunately I was triple-charged for an order I made through the app a few weeks ago, and after multiple calls to the store (where they claimed they couldn't do anything) and multiple emails to their corporate email (hello@cava.com), they STILL have not resolved this issue. This was an order with multiple bowls so getting charged three times was pricey, and the fact that it's been WEEKS later, and I still have not gotten my money back is absolutely ridiculous. In a pandemic in whicih people rely on the app for their health and safety, this is a huge blind spot and missed opportunity for the company. Buyer beware. The food is good and fresh, but if they mess up, good luck getting it fixed! read more

Finally gave this place a try and was surprised by how good it was! I'm a die hard Roots patron so did not expect any salad places to match up- Mezeh and Chopt certainly didn't. Cava was different. They had very fresh ingredients and unique flavors. I loved the mixture of fresh Brussels sprouts in the salad base. It provides such a nice crunch! The currants and carrots are also a great mix and the dressings are so good! The hummus and tzatziki are rich and flavorful. There's also plenty of meats to pick from. The braised lamb is absolutely delicious! Great price for a filling, healthy meal. Will definitely add it to my salad list! read more

I guess I was in the minority that had never had Cava before but dang, I was missing out on a lot! Cava is essentially Chipotle with Mediterranean food so I absolutely fell in love with it. The food was excellent, service was prompt, and the prices are reasonable for the quantity of food that you get. The amount of options for meat and toppings were amazing. I also liked how they had two options for salad bases. The employees at this location were extremely friendly and willing to explain the entire menu to this newbie. If I'm ever around a Cava again, I'll definitely make an effort to stop in. read more

I've only been to acaba a handful of times--but honestly my latest trip might be my last. I am really upset about the quality of service I experienced today. As a college student, I've been really overwhelmed with finals as of late. I went to CAVA today to get some much needed comfort food after a brutal exam and before quickly going back to the library to study for yet another exam tomorrow morning. The wait time was quite extensive, but it wasn't just because there were a lot of people in there. The staff was not very attentive and was taking a long time to get customer's orders made. To top it off, when I finally did get get my order taken, I was only given two lamb meatballs. Upon asking for more, my server said it would be an up charge. The crazy this is that the meatballs are already a $2.25 up charge. Therefore, that means I paid $1.13 per meatball! Outrageous! read more

I am so pleased with this new restaurant! I wondered how it would be different to the restaurant called "Mezeh" in Stonefield shopping center. Now I have my answer. Upon entering Cava I had great ease in finding parking and I love the indoor & outdoor seating. The decor and ambience are beautiful, including clean lines with an industrial and warm vibe. The staff are friendly, attentive and extremely knowledgeable. They cater to any dietary needs (or allergies) you may have...Even as far as to know what would fit in to the Keto Diet`which is the latest and very popular diet. The choices of greens (lettuces) are extensive and are the freshest and most appetizing I have seen. The grains are very fresh (not dry or overcooked)and I love that they have black lentils. The proteins are really great! I only tried the meatballs (absolutely delicious very juicy and full of flavor) and the chicken! This definitely,hands-down, is where Cava beats out all the other similar style restaurants! The toppings are incredible! Cava has the best hummus, and since I lived in the Middle East for four years I am highly critical of Mediterranean style food! I love their Eggplant, quinoa tabouli, and so many others. I agree that Cava may not have as many toppings as Mezeh, but Cava has plenty of toppings and I would much rather have quality as opposed to quantity. There are many to choose from and you can have as much as you want! The pita bread is warm and fresh they give you a whole round bread! Cava gets high marks in all departments! For nine dollars and some change I was extremely happy with my meal (I also have some for later!) read more

After a tour at UVA, we stumbled upon this restaurant. As I had just come back from a Greece trip a few weeks prior, this place seemed like a fun callback. But it was so much more than that! It was a very filling, very healthy, very delicious meal! Though it seemed pretty pricey, it is a LARGE quantity of food, so it is pretty reasonable. Definitely recommended! read more

I love the food here - I thought Mezzeh was good but the meat here is extremely fresh! There are fewer side options than mezzeh, but the flavors here are better. Portion is great and I love their drink options. Came for a friends and family opening so didn't pay for my meal. I got the braised lamb and was very satisfied with it. The service seems very good and I love the venue - there is enough inside and outside seating. read more

What a delightful addition to the Charlottesville food scene! All the food is fresh, creative, and tasty. The staff are awesome and very knowledgeable about the wide array of menu options. This was our first experience at Cava, we were interested in going but there isn't one close to where we live in Wheeling, WV. I can tell you we were not disappointed! We wanted to try as much as we could because we didn't know when we'd be back so choosing our meal was key. The staff at the counter could not be more helpful. They guided us through the menu based on what we wanted to experience and it did not fail! Both my wife and I were very pleased and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Try Cava today! I have a new favorite restaurant! We stumbled upon Cava and am so happy we did. I was with two of my pickiest eating children and was worried when I saw the clean, unique, and healthy spread; however, they were able to choose what they wanted and LOVED it. The service was amazing, especially, Tyler (sp?), who helped us so patiently and with such care. The drinks are all made with cane sugar and my kids loved them. read more

As far as I've seen these are good kids but they're absolutely drowning more often than not. Need more staffing during peak times, give online customers more lead time if needed and shut off online orders if not staffed to keep up with them. Also make refund process easier should folks not receive what they ordered online. read more

Great fast casual option! Parking was good, service is fast. The Mediterranean fixings reminded me Mezze, but I found the proteins to be of a higher quality (YES, to the lamb meatballs!) I do wish they were a little more generous in their portions, though. The fountain drink options are a lot of fun and plenty of seating indoors and out (though not the nicest view outdoors.) This location is always a mess compared to other VA Cavas. They are always out of something, and blame it on being short staffed. I've never been or worked at another place that cares so little about having the product they're supposed to sell, short staffed or not. The workers go painfully slow as well and it's obvious that management is incredibly lacking. read more

What's not to like? Cava is amazing. It's fast casual just like Chipotle but with Mediterranean food. They have amazing vegetarian options with delicious falafel and seasonal vegetables, lots of sauces, dressings and toppings. Everything is delicious and it's only $10 per person. A great addition to the barracks rd restaurants. Cava adds a Mediterranean style among the various restaurants that open along 29N. Stopped by after church on Sunday afternoon. I got the watermelon mints drink which was very refreshing and then i pick a combo of small pita with red pepper hummus and lentil soup. Perfect combination for my late breakfast early lunch (not so much a brunch). Definitely recommended it! read more

We have been to this location twice within the last two weeks. Both times, we were told their fryer is inoperable. That means no falafel and no pita crispies. There is always something going on with this location. Makes me wonder if leadership is competent. Seriously, no fryer?! What's next? read more

The manager at this location, Cindy, provides the BEST customer service I've ever had! She always makes a point to say hi and remembers my name when I come pick up dinner after work. Went to cava this past saturday. Got the rice bowl, looked really good till I got about half way through there was 2 long hairs in the meal. Totally grossed out , brought it to the managers attention, tried to fix another one in place of this one, no thanks, got refund for meal. Your staff needs hairnets, the sloppy baseball hats are not getting it, there is more hair sticking out than inside. Wont be back!! read more

Yet another fantastic lunch at Cava. My wife and i love stopping here for lunch and i have never had a bad meal. So many options and Uber healthy. I had a salad with fresh Romain and very Greek style fixins. The prices are reasonable. It's quick. The staff has always been very friendly. If you're looking for quick, healthy, and tasty lunch this is a great spot! Will absolutely be back!! read more

Ivy Provisions is located just outside UVA grounds make it very convenient for this HOO Dad to check out the first time. I caught them at a good time on a weekday before close and better yet knew they were featuring lobster rolls on the Ivy Provisions Instagram feed. Parking was easy in their own lot. The non commercialized building was a welcome site. This is the one and only Ivy Provisions. Grab a bag of chips, salad or treat with a bottle drink as you head to the counter of Ivy's cozy space. The young gentleman was friendly and efficient with answering a few questions. My wife ordered the Gobbfather which is a Turkey Melt on white. I ordered the lobster roll special. Seating is all outdoors on the patio. Food orders are prepared and sent out in a bag through the window, you will find utensils and napkins in this location. The area was clean. The restroom is gender neutral and was also clean with proper supplies. My wife enjoyed her turkey melt and found it so big she could not finish. My lobster roll I had no problem dusting off. It was a beautiful roll with fresh Maine lobster and soft roll. Total home run. Find me back at Ivy Provisions the next time in Charlottesville. A full 5 stars and job well done all around.

So although she was nice the service was not good as there were times we wanted to order something else and one of the entrees didn't arrive as it was ordered but our server never checked in. All things considered I think I would only come here to grab a salad or appetizer.

She seems to be the only one waiter serving all the indoor tables. It was late afternoon but still. I've been to restaurants where there were 3 handling same amount of tables and not getting services.
