First time here and very happy. Got the orange chicken and house special fried rice. Orange chicken is bang on and one of the best I've ever had. Nice heat, orange zest helps amplify the citrus. Just yummy. House fried rice was a little lacklustre by comparison, but it's not hateful. Generous amounts of protein and veg but the flavour isn't very deep. I mixed a little soy and fish sauce together and that helped to bring things together. Over all solid experience. More of a take out than a destination. The dining room is a little sparse. Food was not great. Online order and selected pay at the restaurant. Woman behind the counter added a tip without asking. I asked her and she said she didn't do it, I did. No tip had been added to my online order. I watched her type in the credit card machine the added tip. She continued to insist that she didn't do that when I watched her. While the dine-in experience is lacking (no table service, with plastic cutlery and no plates), the food is above average for Chinese-American in the area. The vegetables in my Kung Pao chicken were crisp and al dente, they got the spice just right, and the chicken was flattened and juicy. My spouse loved her orange chicken with broccoli and we both thought that the fried rice was nice and light, not oil-soaked and greasy. Dragons is an affordable place for a quick bite or if your really hungry a buffet!! The portion size is great and price is very decent. The interior of the place is a little plain and there were boxes and stands kind of awkwardly placed. The staff was friendly but kind of quiet, so interaction felt a little off but at least they were kind. There's plenty of parking and a few places to shop at near by!! We called in a "Pick up" order. Got there and went to pay. She ran the card once and as I went to leave, she stopped me and re did the receipt to add $2 for a tip. I didn't authorize a tip. If I'm staying at a table then yes a tip but to my discretion what I leave. She had no authority to do this! We will NEVER eat or order from this place again. I had the Szechuan Chicken, one of their All Day Specials. It tasted good and was better than most Chinese food that you can get in the area. It was loaded with bright fresh vegetables including, broccoli, onions, peas, carrots, celery, zucchini, snow peas. Everything was very fresh tasting except for the mushrooms, they were canned and the chicken. The chicken was rubbery. It tasted like it had been reheated in the microwave rather than cooking up fresh for my meal. Hard to tell if the sauce was homemade or jarred. The menu indicated this was a spicy dish. I found it mildly spicy. The portion size was good. I dined in and was very disappointed to have my meal served to me in a styrofoam container. I would like to give this restaurant 3.5 stars but half stars are not an option. read more

This hidden gem can be found tucked away in a quiet shopping center just off HWY 250. For this visit, we called in and placed our order for takeout as it was a cold November evening. We were given the estimate of 15 minutes until it would be ready for pickup. I jotted off to the restaurant to retrieve our dinner. Upon arrival parking was easily obtainable near the front of the building and the lot well lit. Upon entering, I was quickly greeted. Items on the menu are reasonably priced. Food was terrible, I ordered the General Tso's Chicken and one eggroll. This food is frozen and reheated. The inside of the egg roll was complete mush not sure if it was pureed cabbage and mystery meat so that went in the trash after one bite. General Tso's Chicken was gross, frozen re-fried chicken with this awful red sauce that did not taste like the sauce on any of the General Tso's chicken in any of the Chinese restaurants I have frequented in Charlottesville VA and throughout the U.S. They require you pay at least a 18% tip when you order online, even though I drove there and picked it up. They do explain the reason they require a tip is to keep the prices low. However, I paid a total of $12.95 for food I threw in the trash after a couple of bites. The actual restaurant is set up mainly for pick up, no ambience and I would not recommend anyone waste their money on the food. The ladies that worked in there were pleasant, did not seem the cleanest either but I did not plan to eat there so did not look as closely since I popped in to pick it up. This is a pretty good Chinese restaurant. As far as I am concerned it is the best option for Chinese in Augusta county. It's not even close really. This area is kind of a wasteland for Chinese restaurants. I've tried all of them in or near Staunton, Waynesboro, Fishersville, and the Draft. Most are bad to very bad to criminally gross. Dragon's is easily the best of the lot. They use fresh ingredients and it shows. I really enjoy their soups-- it's hard to find decent hot and sour soup, much less good. Their version is fresh and pretty flavorful. Service is also very good. The seating area is small and undistinguished, so takeout is the way to go. Prior to the pandemic, they had a small buffet. It was not great, but I believe that the restaurant has new management. As of right now, I can report that the food is much improved regardless. If you have given up on Chinese in the area, I recommend you give Dragon's a try. It won't blow your mind, but it's a welcome respite from the truly putrid swill offered elsewhere. I wouldn't even dignify most of the other Chinese restaurants with a single star. Dragon's is objectively decent and I wish them success! read more

My Wife and I are retired and have been to a lot of oriental food places and decided to give this one a try. We wanted to eat IN. I ordered Lo mien noodles with chicken and veggies, he said yes. I got a HUGE "take out foam container with attached lid and I mean HUGE, half full of lo Mien noodles and half full of white rice, which I hate, the reason I did not order it. There was very little chicken in the noodles, and just "several" small skinny short pieces of carrots in it with no other veggies. This was it! a low carb night-mare. I tried it.
