I was on the highway and found this golden gem thanks to Yelp!! They had late hours and it was the perfect ending to a long day of travel. I started off with coconut soup and it was so sweet and tangy with massive shrimp. I then tried a hot pot with rice noodles, shrimp and veggies that was comforting and mouth watering. The staff were very friendly, the kitchen was fast cranking out the food for all the customers. The ambience is bold and full of color with fantastic TVs playing various dishes being made. This eatery is very open, inviting, and full of room for lots of people! It didn't feel overly crowded or loud...just a great space to thoroughly review their very extensive menu! The staff were phenomenal and took such good care of us! Not only that, our food arrived quite quickly! When everything sounds SO good, you know you're in trouble?! We started off with two incredible apps (chicken and potato curry puffs & crispy spring rolls). The curry puffs were off the charts incredible!!! We loved, loved, loved our garlic chicken dish as well as our green curry dish! The portions are large enough for leftovers, and tastes as good as it smells (and reheated too if you really wanna know!). This place is Thai heaven, and I don't say that lightly! This was an impromptu stop during our drive to our vacation destination. Solid place! Inside has a lot of seating & appeared tidy. Can't speak to anything else about it though because we opted to sit outside. It was a relatively small patio space. Tables & chairs were metal & starting to rust. And it faces the very busy main road, so as expected, it was very loud. Service was very prompt & courteous. Menu was huge. Everything looked & smelled fantastic, so it was hard to choose what to get! Our party of 4 shared cheese wontons & gyoza; both perfectly crispy & delicious. We tried the Thai ice tea, strawberry daiquiri, & virgin piña colada; all very good. Our entrees consisted of Chicken Pad Thai, Cashew Nuts Stir Fry, Spicy Korean Fried Rice, & Crab Meat Fried Rice. We all gave it a solid 4+ out of 5 flavor wise. My only complaint is their "4 star" spice level was more like a 1. I now know for next time to tell them to make it spicier. Ordered pick up online. Was charged. Order was "missed" per web page error but i was still charged and told it could be several days for refund. So now I have no dinner and money is tied up for days. My adult daughter and I visited Staunton Thai Restaurant to celebrate Mardi Gras. We live in this lovely small city in the Shenandoah Valley, where our favorite holiday is hardly noticed. No Cajun restaurants !! The Place Located in a small strip mall area , this free standing restaurant has plenty of parking . As I use a wheelchair, we appreciated the ease of assess ability. We were pleasantly greeted and immediately offered our choice of seating, bad , table or booth. The Food Everything we ordered was delicious. Beginning with 2 appetizers , Crispy Brussel Sprouts , battered and fried served with a light slightly sweet dipping sauce and the Curried Chicken Puffs served with a sweet orange sauce. We found both the appetizers a little bland so we used the available sauces to enhance their flavor and enjoyed them We shared each dish and had fun passing our plates back and forth. We ordered our first entree from the luncheon menu which included your choice of several soups and a spring roll. We had the Coconut Chicken Soup . It was delicious , creamy and filled with chicken and mushrooms . I really liked the thick Pad noodles heightened by flavor of the tasty duck and a few veggies . For our second entree , we ordered Thai BBQ Chicken from the main menu. The chicken was perfectly prepared. It was accompanied by a wonderfully tasty sauce , broccoli and sticky rice which was wrapped in leaves.The presentation was lovely and the food remarkably good . I had ordered 2 extra sauces from the side dish menu , Thai Dumpling Sauce and Creamy Coconut Sauce which I will omit next time because we considered them both too sweet. For drinks we shared an alcoholic Thai Punch with our appetizers and had a refreshing Thai Tea with our meal Both were good . If you are looking for some excellent Thai food . I didn't need food, but driving in a rural area over a holiday weekend, I wasn't sure when my next chance would be, so I figured I would maximize Staunton (pronounced without the "u" by the locals for some reason) and grab some grub on the way out. Their online ordering system offers enormous detail and customization. Not only can the vegetarian or vegan diner opt out of fish sauce and egg, but options to limit oil and sugar are there, and any particular vegetable can be added or avoided (every restaurant needs to implement a "no broccoli" button). My dish appeared with the instructions I asked for on the receipt, and they appeared to have been followed. But if I might have expected that this customization would come at the expense of quality, it did not. This was a magnificent set of drunken noodles that filled my takeout container, and the tofu I asked for was not short in supply. I asked for it Thai hot (apparently Lao hot is hotter than Thai hot so this was not the maximum), and it had noticeable whole chili peppers and a vicious kick throughout, balanced by the onions, sweet peppers, and crisped basil on top. The veggie gyoza I added gave off a delectable aroma from being freshly cooked, and the neutral cabbage and edamame filling went well with a strongly flavored dipping sauce. I didn't need anything more than a quick takeout from them, which I ate throughout the day, but if I had an opportunity to come back, dine in, and order more, I would be jumping to do it. read more

Everything we ordered here was delicious: papaya salad, seafood salad, and penang curry with vegetables. I felt like I was back in Thailand! Keep in mind that everything was pretty spicy, so I'd stick to dishes with one chili spice level compared to two, but both levels were a reasonable spicy and not a Thai bird chili pepper crying spicy. read more

There was no hot spices at all, which surprised me. Hubs got the drunken noodles with chicken, which had a light touch of heat. Both our entrees were sizable that we each had enough for lunch the following day. We also ordered the veggie crispy rolls, which I would pass on. Biting into it, it was just grease. Hubs reheated one the next day and the grease went everywhere. Two things to be aware of if you're not a regular. 1) Only certain items have are spicy. Look at the menu carefully for those.
