The buffet wasn't overwhelming; it had all the classic favorites without trying to do too much, which I really appreciated. The wonton soup was absolutely amazing and easily one of the highlights of the meal. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and consistently well-stocked. The wait staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and always made sure we had everything we needed. They also have a sushi bar, which is a nice bonus if you're in the mood for sushi. The restaurant has a charming atmosphere with traditional Chinese décor blended with American influences, making it feel both welcoming and comfortable. If you're looking for a delicious, affordable buffet with great service, this place is definitely worth a visit!

I'd never been to a Chinese…read morebuffet before, and watching MulletReview's TikTok series had me so excited to start my own journey. I made plans with a friend to go to dinner here. As we walked in, we joked that this was "Day 1 of eating at every Chinese Buffet we can until we get food poisoning". If only I knew how prophetic that was. As it turns out, "Day 1" last about three hours before having to turn the clock back to Day 0. I was feeling fine before the dinner. I felt okay for about an hour after. Two hours after I was feeling queasy but trying to ignore it. Three hours in, I suddenly vomited up all of my dinner. It didn't taste as good coming back up, unfortunately. It was so sudden too, I didn't have time to get to the bathroom. I wasn't expecting to be vacuuming the food up off the floor only hours after eating it. Besides that, to give the place a fair review -- the service was very kind, quick and courteous. Despite it being a buffet, the waitress checked in twice to ask how the food was, and came through to take our plates as we kept getting up to get more. The bathrooms were mostly clean, I noticed they had a sign to keep track of cleaning for the day, which is more than most Chinese Buffets can say -- at least based on what I can tell from Mullet's reviews. As for the actual taste of the food, the main dishes were absolutely delicious. I'm so disappointed it made me sick, because if I magically knew it would be safe, I would want to come here again. I did not eat any salad bar foods or sushi so I can't tell you about that. The dessert bar was pretty mid. This review is being written as MulletReview is on Day 111 of his Chinese Buffet tour, and I only wish I was as lucky has him. Golden China capped me at 1.

Our family was desperate for some good Asian food and stir-fried veggies, so we were delighted to find that Oriental Cafe had options beyond just the crab rangoon and General Tso's chicken that most Chinese American places serve. They were also very accommodating in making things vegetarian for us by avoiding beef/chicken-based broths and taking out meat in dishes like mapo tofu. What we ordered: mapo tofu, seaweed egg drop soup, dan dan noodles, chili-fried cabbage, and three delights (eggplant, string bean, potatoes). Every dish was so satisfying and generally seasoned well. The mapo tofu was delicious: numbing, spicy, saucy, and the tofu was not only silky but had also absorbed the sauce well. Cabbage had good wok hei and maintained its crunch. Dan dan noodles were a tad bland, but nothing ladling mapo tofu over it couldn't fix. Seaweed egg drop soup came out hot and warmed us up on a chilly and rainy spring day. I do wish they had white pepper on the side. No notes for the three delights, delicious as is. If you're ever hit with craving for Chinese in Harrisonburg, don't miss out on this spot.

If you love Orange Chicken from Panda Express, you definitely need to try theirs! It's sweet, made with real orange peels, smells amazing, and has just a little kick. And don't forget to end your meal with their Milk Tea Boba, it's the perfect treat! The restaurant owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, which makes every visit even more enjoyable. They always take the time to check in, make sure everything tastes great, and create such a warm and friendly atmosphere. I truly mean every state including Hawaii and Alaska. There is no place I felt so connected to the gastronomy flavors of the island like Chino Criollo. A true gem. There is more to the menu than I expected. I got the pork chop combo and my wife mofongo con carne frita. Huge portions, amazing flavor, I went back in time to the #7 menu in my hometown Chinese restaurant. You have to try it to believe it. Wish Chino Criollo the best. Keep it up. See you tomorrow and next time we are in town.

I wasn't particularly impressed with my food at Chino Criollo. It was my first time having mofongo,…read moreso it was hard for me to tell if I just don't like mofongo or if I don't like how they make it. I ordered beef with broccoli, and the portion was huge. I had enough leftovers for a second dinner. The rice and fries were very plain - could use more veggies and salt respectively. The main dish itself wasn't a standout but hit the spot. My girlfriend, on the other hand, did not like her garlic chicken. The garlic taste was absolutely overwhelming, and the sauce was very thick and creamy. Not exactly what either of us were expecting from Chinese garlic chicken. She tried her best, bless her heart, but only ate maybe 1/3 of her dish and did not care to save the rest for leftovers. I would encourage you to try Chino Criollo to support local businesses, but do be careful because you might not end up getting what you expect.

Beef and Broccoli: entirely too salty! Happy Family: a few fake seafood items with a bland sauce BBQ boneless spare ribs: cooked too long, but a little more sauce wouldn't hurt to cover up the tough pork pieces. Vegetable Lo mein: almost burnt. The noodles were a very dark brown. For a minute, I thought it was some kind of sea kelp because of its color. Poor quality! Normally, I would praise this place, but not tonight! $69 worth of nearly inedible food. Trust me, the pictures look better than they taste. I don't think that I'll frequent that place for a very long time.
