Beef and Broccoli: entirely too salty! Happy Family: a few fake seafood items with a bland sauce BBQ boneless spare ribs: cooked too long, but a little more sauce wouldn't hurt to cover up the tough pork pieces. Vegetable Lo mein: almost burnt. The noodles were a very dark brown. For a minute, I thought it was some kind of sea kelp because of its color. Poor quality! Normally, I would praise this place, but not tonight! $69 worth of nearly inedible food. Trust me, the pictures look better than they taste. I have gotten many orders from China King. It's definitely a to go place. But I have never had a problem with their food.

When traversing the American hinterlands I make it a habit to check out the local plexiglass-Chinese fast food joints to see how these lonely outposts are making out. Rarely does this work out well from a culinary standpoint, but Harrisburg China King was a pleasant surprise. Hot & Sour soup is my standard test sample, and this one was good stuff: excellent viscosity, if slightly more biased towards a sweet profile than hot or sour. Also sampled the veg lo mein and veg fried rice. Both solid efforts with crisp vegetable components and reasonable good flavor profiles. Grading on a curve for Harrisburg Pennsylvania -- this is no Flushing Queens five stars -- but if your other option is the Taco Bell next door, China King is AOK. read more

Quick and friendly service! Very affordable and you get tons of food! The dinner special is definitely worth it and they do not skimp on the quality or quantity. Glad there is a Chinese food place near me that doesn't use MSG. The only reason I tried this place. The food was flavorful although the orange chicken did have a little too much breading compared to the amount of chicken used, but at least it was white meat. Better food is a available at the Sharp Shopper next door. The flavors are weak and the food is always cold, even when it is just finished. The pork lo mein was the shining star, but the General Tso's was all overly breaded white meat and not the rich dark meats traditionally used. read more

We were staying at the nearby Hampton Inn and they delivered. I had vegetable Lo mein - plentiful and well flavored. My husband ordered General Tsao Chicken. It was tasty but not spicy at all which is what he wanted. Delivery was within 30 minutes but they only included 1 fortune cookie and no napkins. read more

I honestly wish I could give it less than 1 star. I am a student and ordered food along with my two friends ordered delivery online, they told us 50-70 minutes. About 30 minutes later my friends food came, mine did not. I called, the owner said 20 minutes. I called again another hour later, the lady said 10 minutes. I called one final time and was yelled at by the owner accused of giving the wrong phone number, accused of not picking up, when both my receipt and caller ID showed my actual phone number. Terrible place. Doesn't value their customers. Allows food to be delivered over an hour late and COLD at that and then when I called to complain one of their employees offered a credit which was very kind. They told me all I needed was to give my name and phone number. I just called today about a month later and they proceeded to say how there was no proof and how the fact that it was a month later and not the next day or a week later my credit wasn't valid but they never said that to begin with. This place is TERRIBLE! Got hung up on twice by their manager and they were so rude! How dare this place even still exist. Not to mention my friend who ordered from them a few months ago found a centipede in their beef and broccoli. DISGUSTING! You all need to be shut down. Never go to this place. read more

Never been here before but went ahead and tried it despite the reviews. Front desk was nice and the restaurant was not busy (it was 9:30pm). I ordered the sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and an egg roll to-go. It took about 10 minutes and was very happy with the food. The way they make their fried rice is my favorite and it's packed with flavor despite that there were no veggies or eggs in the mix. The sweet and sour chicken was greasy but delicious and crispy. Even the next day heated up in the oven it was wonderful. The egg roll was great as well, the perfect amount of crispness with soft cabbage on the inside. I'll go back here for sure. read more

So this was reasonably quick service for delivery. Lo mein, chicken Kung pao and cream cheese wontons were tasty. Eggroll was all wonton and a teeny bit of cabbage. All in all I was very satisfied for take out Chinese. Have to say the side of fried rice would have been nicer if there were egg and veggies in it. read more

I come here very often, and I appreciate the store keeper and service. Food is good too and store is clean. If you want to eat in it's peaceful and quiet. Right behind McDonald's taco bell and Burger king. Delivery takes a little bit longer than maybe it should but it's worth it. I enjoy coming in though because it's relaxing. The guy who answered the phone was nice but the flavors were not there. Tastes like they just threw the food together. No effort, taste like they don't care about quality. No development of flavors. WORST SERVICE. We were told it would take an hour. An hour & a half later we get HALF the order. After calling to find out the problem the receptionist was very short & kept insisting it was a busy night & there was nothing they could do because apparently no one with the "authority" to offer a discount was available. I had ordered a combo chicken special (General Tso's) and was not pleased with the food at all. The sauce was bland and there was no broccoli in the entrée like there should be. All I got in amongst the sauce was the crackers you receive with soup! The spring roll was a joke...all wrapper with barely any filling. Also I ordered the steamed dumpling. Again, all wrapper and barely any filling! I was craving Chinese food for the longest time and what I received was truly disappointing and not worth my hard earned money. Lessons learned. Let me start first by saying I LOVE Chinese food. It took me a considerable amount of time to find a place that had decent chicken lo mein and when I found China King I was thrilled. I order from them at least once a week (no shame.) HOWEVER my experience with them last night was UNACCEPTABLE and really makes me question whether or not I will be ordering from them ever again, out of pure principle. It took over 2 HOURS for a delivery driver to show up to my house after being told it would take 45minutes MAX. I'm sorry but its Chinese take out... get fucking real. In the mean time, I called the restaurant about 10-15 times to see what was taking so long and every single one of my calls was either sent to voicemail or answered and then immediately hung up. I inquired with the delivery man what the actual f**k was going on and he told me that they will stop taking calls when they are busy and don't anticipate for customers to call back to check on their order so obviously there was no way for them to anticipate I was the one calling. So I politely told the delivery man to get f****d I'm not eating this, no matter how much I want to. Prior to writing this review I called the restaurant again to file a complaint, hoping that they would take my comments in stride and make the necessary changes - and a simple I'm sorry for the inconvenience wouldn't hurt. But did I even get that? No. I was hung up on AGAIN. Once they realized I wasn't placing an order and wished to speak to someone I could complain to they decided I was unimportant and hung up. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because the lo mein is actually delicious so don't get me wrong, if you couldn't give two shits whether or not the staff consists of a bunch of assholes then this is the place for you.
