We were in luray this weekend, and my craving was pretty strong! My husband recalled this restaurant that he used to frequent a lot as a child with a buffet. The restaurant no longer has a buffet or any kind of indoor seating, but still offers all of the classic Chinese food for pick up. I always like to order a smorgasbord of my favorite items : general tso chicken, beef and broccoli, lo mein (shrimp), and wonton soup. I was pleasantly surprised that they still do lunch specials during the weekend! This is always a no go in Northern Virginia. Each entrée came with a side of rice (fried rice was the go to, which is also usually an up charge in northern Virginia so I definitely appreciated that however I prefer steamed rice so just make sure you mention that and they're happy to substitute) and an eggroll. The eggrolls were definitely fried to order and super delicious and greasy. They do not offer beverages so just make sure you have beverages handy. The only thing I could possibly comment on is that they have a very smart business model and typically a lunch special would include a small container of the entrée only, with rice in the box on the side. However, they combine the entrée and the rice in the same container so in reality, you don't get very much entrée in the lunch special. I'm sure the dinner special is different. The food was really enjoyable, the beef and broccoli was the best and I would say our least favorite was the general sauce chicken it was very salty and the meat was not very plentiful. I also don't think it was white meat.

Taste little bits along the way as it steeps, but for a pot this large the oolong can usually go about 3 min or for the rolled Tiguanyin types up to 4 maybe 5 minutes. The staff is also extremely friendly. I live in Nashville 7+ hours away and they remember me whenever I stop in. I found them while traveling to PA for a gig. My friend and I did a quick search to find non-chain food along the highway and it was getting late past 9pm and in the country you don't find many non-chain options let alone good ones.
