    Fried Pork Dumplings (10) - Portion & a half

Absolutely incredible dumplings. Probably some of the best I've ever had. Love both of their locations. The people are kind and the food is exceptional. If you want good dumplings, I would totally recommend you go here.

The location and the small menus are perfect for an afternoon snack break. We ordered fried dumplings and bao. The dumplings came with a delicious teriyaki-like sauce, but the fillings were just okay. The bao also tasted only okay. Both dishes provided enough energy for us on a cold winter day while we explored the shops.

My husband and I popped into Marco & Luca when we went a on weekend trip to Charlottesville. Their menu is pretty simplistic, with only dumplings, cold noodles, buns, and chicken curry. I was excited to see they had a combo that had a little bit of everything (minus the cold noodles) plus a drink. I thought all of this for $13 was a reasonable price. The chicken curry was good, but dumplings and bun were the stars of the meal for me. These were some of the best dumplings I've had and the bun was soft and warm without being dry. I think if I were to go again, I would get a larger order of dumplings and a bun.

Wow! Some of the best dumplings I've ever had. The pork dumplings with ginger and leeks is perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. They are smaller than typical dumplings, but taste better than most. The price is also reasonable - seven dumplings for $5.75; can't beat that price! The staff members are nice and quick to serve. The atmosphere is casual and clean.

This is a staple for fried dumplings for the Cville downtown Mall area. They have other great items on the menu as well. But today I just wanted fried pork dumplings! Cooked to order, hot, fresh and tasty! Great and friendly service.

Came here dinner and grabbed some dumplings and spicy cold noodles. This is a great place if you're walking and need to stop by for a quick snack. The prices are amazing $5.25 for dumplings and $5.25 for the noodles can't really beat it. The portion size is great, definitely will fill you up. Taste wise, it's pretty decent. Overall, there was no wait, it was quick and easy, the prices were great, the portion size was good, and it taste pretty decent.

Stopped in for a quick bite while shopping on the downtown mall. We ordered the dumplings and the hot pork bun. The dumplings were AMAZING, the filling was flavorful without being too overpowering and not oily at all. The pork bun had good flavor - I just wish it had a tad more filling. The sauces that came with both were so good I could drink them. The prices were low and it was the perfect mid-day snack. I'd recommend if you are in the area!

We on a whim stopped in to try some dumplings while visiting Charlottesville for a recent bach trip. These dumplings were so good! Also reasonably priced. Definitely stop in and try the pork dumplings if you get a chance!

Best dumplings I've ever had. I used to visit regularly at the Virginia tech location when I was in school and fell in love with this place. I was delighted to find there was a location in Charlottesville on a recent visit. This location was exactly like the Blacksburg spot. I was so excited to be back. Their hot and sour still remains to be my favorite hot and sour. Their sesame cold noodles are amazing. And their dumplings are still divine. I just wish they had a Northern VA location as it's so affordable and delicious. I highly recommend visiting for a cheap but amazing lunch.

Well they are owned by the same people, but the menu might be slightly different but the hits are all there.

Very very nice lady (owner) and very helpful with the menu. - I had the chicken Pho ($16.50). I added the 2 included Hoisin sauce packets. It also came with a Sriracha sauce packet and a small container of chili oil along with the normal variety of noodles, sprouts, fresh herbs, green onions, white onions, jalapeño slices, and a lime wedge. The chicken was tender sliced white meat with no fat, gristle, or bones attached. The broth had a lot of flavor and was delicious. - I also had the shrimp and chive dumplings ($7.00). Not a strong shrimp flavor, but they had a nice crisp on the outside and were tasty. The sauce that comes with the dumplings is absolutely delicious. - My wife had the Bulgogi beef ($14.50). She said it was tender and very delicious. It came with rice, kimchi, and cucumber salad. I just happened to speak to Linh about the cucumber salad and she said this is how she's always made it for her kids and they love it. Well, I'm with her kids and love it too. She makes the vinaigrette herself and it has an unexpected sweetness to it instead of the usual strong vinegar flavor. We both loved it. - We had the pork gyoza ($7.00). This was cooked my favorite way, deep fried (not pan fried). This took me back to the gyoza in Japan and the Yaki Mandu I used to get in Korea. Great crispy wrapper with a tender flavorful filling. And again, the sauce that came with it is some of the best I've had. - The kimchi is not overly spicy and has a slight sweetness to it. - The Egg Tarts ($5.50) are good, not overly sweet. Could use a bit more filling for a better filling to pie crust ratio. - I also got a Chai tea bubble milk ($6.25) that was super delicious. Overall, we really enjoyed Nguyen's Kitchen and will go back with friends. It's unfortunate that it sits behind a Taco Bell and is not highly noticeable from the road, otherwise I might have tried it sooner.

I've tried everything else and knew Q Noodles is well reviewed but HK is undefeated. We ordered takeout and decided to try a few different things on their menu. I will say the food came correct and the packaging was clean and tidy. The prices are expensive but the portions are huge. We ordered 2 apps and 2 entrees and couldn't finish all of it. 1 of each is enough for 2 people. The pork steamed buns were our favorite. Not the best I've had ever, but possibly the best in cville. The bun was super light and fluffy and the filling was savory. I prefer mine to be a bit sweeter with a BBQ flavor, so not my all time fav but very good. 8/10 The egg rolls were just fine. Well prepared and cooked. Tasted slightly too oily. The inside was cabbage and either ground pork or chicken. No carrot. The inside was so finely minced it kinda turned into a mush. So the texture was not the best. Hard to distinguish the flavor as well. 5/10 The sesame paste noodles with ground pork was presented beautifully with red cabbage, cucumber, edamame, corn, shredded carrot and cilantro. I think the sesame paste sauce was just too one dimensional, but maybe that's the point. The noodles were overdone so underneath the beautiful rainbow of toppings was just kind of a pile of mushy noodles in a plain sesame paste. After a few bites the earthiness/mushiness of the dish starts to be overwhelming ... not my favorite. 4/10 The general tsos was packaged well and came with white rice a few pieces of steamed brocolli and a ramen egg. The ramen egg was good. The general tsos the chicken was good quality and very fresh. It reminded me of an orange chicken in terms of how their GT tastes. My favorite GT in cville is from Hong Kong and unfortunately this one wasn't as good. The chicken was good quality but the texture was quite soft and not crispy the way I prefer. The sauce was also a bit too sweet for my preference. Overall, a good dish it is enjoyable just not my fav. 6/10 With how much hype they get I was expecting a bit more - perhaps at some point I will try their soup dumplings since they may be the only place in cville that does them. But for $13 for 6 pieces I may just continue to wait awhile considering the rest of their food was fairly average. Overall, a solid spot for average Chinese food. Nothing amazing but will satisfy a craving for well made Chinese food if you are looking in the uva area.
