As is often the case on this arcade, the restaurant also has a dedicated set of outdoor seats at the middle of the brick walkway. You'd think all of this would be an upgrade, but no. First, I ordered in advance online to spare myself a wait, not knowing that it was an actual sit-down restaurant. However, upon arriving at the space, there was no one to take an order if I'd wanted to place one, and only rarely did anyone emerge from the back with food. I just took a seat and waited. By the time someone acknowledges my presence after some fifteen or twenty minutes, my food was apparently already ready and just sitting there. I didn't leave a tip as my impression of this place was that they weren't really providing any service. There's nothing wrong with a counter service model rather than full table service, but one way or another they seem not to have figured out what they were doing. Other potential diners also seemed confused. Don't get me wrong, the good was great. My ginger lemongrass noodle soup delivered an explosion of flavors. Would order again. I just hope they improve the customer service experience, because this is a great opportunity for the average local to try some vegetarian Vietnamese food.

Especially for $11. The bread was the perfect thickness and toasted well, overall super yummy and filling. We ate outside and it was great, waitress was super nice, just amazing overall. Also this was our first time checking out the new location but we've always gotten vegan pho from here, it's so good! My girlfriend jokes that it's magical because eating it when she's sick always seems to make her feel instantly better.

The fresh spring roll was as fresh as it gets like the ingredients just came out of the garden. The entree portions were plentiful and very tasty. We got the Fish Basil and Veggie Stirfry with chicken. We ordered a Chicken Ginger to go for dinner. Even hours later, it was yummy. We are going back. As soon as you walk in, you're welcomed into a warm, clean, and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant felt well-organized, and the staff greeted us right away before showing us to a booth--our favorite type of seating. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, giving us plenty of time to look over the menu while also offering a few personal favorites when we had questions. That balance of great service and genuine hospitality really stood out. The food was outstanding. I ordered the Tom Yum Lemongrass Soup with pork and the Chicken Pad Thai, while my wife had the Wonton Soup and Drunken Noodles. Our friend chose the Dry Noodles with Duck and finished the meal with the Fried Banana Ice Cream for dessert. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and arrived surprisingly quickly. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meal. If you're looking for authentic Thai food, friendly service, and a relaxed dining experience, Thai Cuisine & Noodle House is definitely worth a visit. We'll absolutely be back!

But guys! This is the place! They check every box, from the same exact amazing dishes done right every time (this point will essentially run everyone but Bodo's off the road), and joyful service coming out of and now persisting long after Covid. I hear they are also in the rarefied air of being in North America and having a Japan-quality rice-fermenting room (apologies for the terms back there I for sure got wrong). I very recently took some downtown friends who had never been. And they were, you know, shocked. Except this place would bang even in Paris. Which is why I'm finally getting around to writing this overdue review. Phenomenal community asset. You have no idea how much you'd miss them if they weren't here. Grateful to the waitstaff and whoever manages and owns this place. All good luck and best wishes to Charlottesville's hidden gem. PS - If you want menu recommendations, it's literally all good. Just decide what you like. if you don't like sake, their other drinks are, yeah you guessed it, as good as almost anywhere in town. Bingo, Manhattans, a good malbec. Impressive.

Food took 90 minutes to arrive (I'm not kidding....other parties arrived, ordered, ate, and left during our stay). Worst part is when the food did arrive, it was just average. Our ramen soups were missing the wonderful egg and the broth was missing salt. Subpar broth at a ramen bar? That is a huge no no. I can only hope they were just having a bad day. Would not recommend.

We planned to share everything b/c we were hungry and wanted to try Thai in a different city. We ordered the Chix Satay which came in a decent amount of time after ordering and was presented in planks vs on a stick which Im used to but regardless, cooked SO well and came w carrot & cabbage twirlies and peanut sauce! Delish! Entreés; My bf ordered the Pineapple fried rice and I ordered the Crying Tiger. OMG. The meat was very well seasoned, spice sauce served on the side and more carrot and cabbage twirlies. The Pineapple fried rice was also very DELISH and a decent portion with enough to take home. There was a SOLID chicken to pineapple ration which is so so important when considering mixing chix and pineapple

We were sat promptly as there was only one other table at the time there but once we were sat about 5 more tables came in. Our server brought waters to start and I had a Thai tea, which was good, not too sweet- which I like. I order the dumpling as an app, they're pretty small but you get a good amount and the sauce was really good. In order the red curry and my husband ordered the Thai fried rice. Both were really good. I liked his dish a bit more, it was very savory. The red curry had fresh vegetables in it and still had a nice crunch to it, which I like. If we're back in Charlottesville we'll def go back.
