Very fresh, hot, packaged well, very plentiful helpings. Ordered through door dash. Best Chinese in the area! 5* General Tso's combo perfect. Not too spicy like other places. Egg drop wonton soup with plenty of substance. Egg rolls were fat, stuffed and crispy. read more

Ordered door dash. Issues were not with delivery. Shrimp Egg Foo Yung had 1 tiny shrimp in the patty. Like 1/2" tiny shrimp in a 4" patty. Oh, and the fact it was squishy raw?? Had to cook patties 5 min in air fryer to be able to eat. Pork egg roll was delicious! Dumplings and fried rice was good. AVOID the egg foo yung! read more

I was so hungry and I ordered online, chow mein with chicken and veggies, plus hot and sour soup to go. I picked it up and it was really tasty. The portions were good also. I will be going there again soon! read more

Always yummy!! The chow mai fun, sesame chicken & sweet & sour chicken are our favs. If you want something quick, yummy & guaranteed to have leftovers- this is the place to go! read more

Ok. I have to update my review! The first order was from Uber eats and not the best experience. I reluctantly had to order again, the teen requested, and just went to pick it up this time. Complete 180! The food was hot and fresh. I was actually checking to see if it was the same place. lol Staff was friendly and quick to say hello! It is a walk-in with menus, no seating. It's very busy. We have been back several times. I always pickup! Go try it! read more

China Chef is located in the same shopping plaza as the Publix. It is a Chinese restaurant definitely geared for takeout and it has the same vibe and atmosphere of Chinese takeout places across the country. The staff was friendly enough and I had my food in a decent amount of time. With it being in the Publix shopping plaza, parking is not an issue. While the food here is pretty much what you would expect from a takeout Chinese restaurant. It does not take a lot of chances with their menu, but the menu is filled with the culinary items that is beloved by countless people. Taking into consideration the fact that this is a takeout Chines place in a strip mall and with my expectations set there, I will give this establishment my recommendation and I will give it five stars. I toyed between four and five stars, but we should not expect a culinary godsend from a takeout Chinese restaurant, but we should expect good food and this place definitely delivers. read more

China Chef Restaurant - a man walking in front of the restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Daphne, Alabama

For local "Chinese" china chef is my go-to. Always get: crab Rangoon, egg rolls, dumplings and then a chicken/sauce entree. They will happily customize, more or less of a certain veggie, add a veggie or "put a little heat in there". Nice family who are clearly showing their youngsters about business, quality and customer service. I have never had a bad order. read more

I like their hot and sour soup. It's fresh and flavorful. I think it is just spicy enough. read more

Today marks our second wedding anniversary, and it is tradition for us to get China Chef takeout for dinner. The person that ran the wedding venue we used assured us we wouldn't run out of food for the amount of people we had at our wedding; they would continue to replenish food as it got low. They lied. So, on our wedding night, when a sister saved a couple hors d'oeuvres but my Husband got nothing to eat, China Chef was our saving grace for dinner. This delicious lifeline of a meal has instilled a tradition for us. We make it a point to come back every year to celebrate our anniversary over their food. We are THRILLED they have opened back up yesterday (June 1st)-- just in time for our anniversary. Their food is amazing. Their service is fantastic. The staff are kind and personable, and even when they are SLAMMED busy and folks are being nasty to them for their wait time to roll out their delicious food, they maintain their professionalism. Word of advice to those being unkind to this family business: If you don't want to wait a long time for scrumptious food, call EARLIER than you plan to eat and plan on 45-60 minutes before it's ready. Don't expect food whipped up at the last minute, and then treat these folks like dirt when having food ready in 10 minutes isn't realistic. SO MANY people are craving China Chef right now; they are revered for their food. Just be kind, understanding, plan ahead for yourself/your family, and enjoy this lovely restaurant's food! read more

The place has 2 tables but its primary clientele is takeout and delivery. They aren't really set up for in store dining. It is a walk up counter service with a friendly young lady taking the orders. For full entree and bowl of wonton soup it was 23 dollars. The entree was their version of Mongolian Beef. It was tasty it used a lot of white and green onions. The taste was fine but the beef was a little tough and chewy. Many place I visit marinate the beef before hand helping to alleviate that problem. The wonton soup was good but the wontons were also chewy. They felt out shell felt under cooked. I was disappointed but I may try it again if I am in the area. read more

Great takeout restaurant. We order out dinner here at least once week. Never been disappointed....

We went there as it was one of few places open and it proved to be a great find. The Kung Pau Chicken and Mongolian Beef were outstanding. Clearly those present took great pride in their food which was well deserved. Perfect spot for take-out Chinese food. While this may look like the proverbial hole-in-the-wall, the food is well worth it. read more

Beef and Broccoli was delicious! Mongolian Beef had an enormous amount on white onions and very little beef. The fried rice lacked eggs and any peas or carrots. read more

The food is always fresh and hot. They are professional as can be. I highly recommend this spot in the Daphne area.

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa... Let's pump the breaks on the glowing 5 star reviews for this place. Literally like every Chinese place I grew up eating. Including the somehow faded pictures of all the food patterned on the wall over the counter despite the restaurant having opened less than a year ago. There must be a giant vat of this sweet & sour sauce that is imported directly from the South China Sea. This place is no better nor worse than any other Chinese restaurant circa 1995. I will say service was fantastic. Super prompt on my pickup order that I had placed about 20 minutes prior to arrival. read more

I ordered Chicken chow Mein. Did not like it. Dosent anyone know how to make Chicken Chow Mien? The staff was pleasant. Will not go back! Not bb a restaurant! read more

Little hole in the wall restaurant that has about three tables on the inside lol so seating is very limited. Despite that the food is always fresh and delicious. Wings and fried rice is good, chow mei fun is even better and top of the list is the beef and broccoli. Definitely my favorite spot to get Chinese in Daphne. read more

Pretty good Chinese food that is quick. Chicken has a tendency to be fried super hard, everything else is good.

This restaurant has gone to carry out only during the pandemic. My husband had Mongolian Beef, which he said was very tender. He got fried rice but did not like it, it was a yellow color and tasted like rice cooked in chicken broth. Not the fried rice that he is used to with the soy sauce, butter, eggs and peas. I had the Chicken Lomien. It was tasty but used chicken thighs instead of the white meat I'm used to. read more

I order from here at least once a month. I like the food. But this time the crunchy noodles were not fresh and were soggy and stale. I was extremely disappointed. I will tell them the next time I order. I always order extra but will not pay extra for less than fresh! read more

Excellent Chinese food, excellent service! I have eaten several Chinese food places, and this is far the best for Chinese takeout. Yes you can go get fancy Chinese or Asian food elsewhere, but this is great Chinese takeout read more

I'm pretty sure this was dog food...nothing notable out of the order...just bleh run of the mill ho hum Chinese food. Took a few bites and threw it all away. Wouldn't recommend read more

Decent! Good prices and lots of food for price! I love Chinese food and this one is good if you have a big family and need to feed a lot of people. Not the best but will do the job. read more

Five-Star as far as Chinese Take-Out goes. I stopped by on the way home from work around 7:30p.m. on a Friday night. They were extremely busy, but took my order and had the food ready in less than 16 minutes. The sesame chicken, kung pao shrimp, and crab Rangoon were all above par. Relatively good pricing and friendly service. Our go to take-out Chinese now. read more

The food and take out service has been great as long or longer than we've made Daphne our home. 20+ years. Very happy to see you again open for business. read more

Maybe we are just too used to great Chinese Food in New England but we thought this was horrible. Teriyaki chicken was spicy hot although not indicated that way on the menu. Not even sure what the boneless spareribs were. Shaved pork curly Q's drenched in a strange sauce. Lo Mein had no taste. Fortune Cookies we're good. read more

This is one of our favorite to-go restaurants when my wife and I can't decide what for dinner. Very reasonably priced and always fresh, great tasting food. read more

It's fast Chinese food that kills the pain of being hungry. The location provided is wrong. It's on 98 by publix. Make sure that you repeat your order. I always end up just getting whatever they cook I guess because it's never been correct. The staff is friendly so I don't care too much. The food itself is bland yet always piping hot upon pick up. read more

China Chef Restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Daphne, Alabama

This is the worst Chinese food I have ever had! My son had the chicken Lo Mein, I had cashew chicken, both had absolutely no taste at all, never had that before, usually you have fresh tasting vegetables and meat this stuff was over cooked with a gross brown sauce. Tried to give it something with the duck sauce in a packet, no help. It was hot and packed to go even though we ate in. The bathroom was filthy. I will never eat there again and look forward to seeing it go out of business! read more

Friendly service, great price and excellent food !!!! I had the Mapo tofu and Sichuan tofu, to my surprise, it's actually pretty legit ! It's spicy like it supposed to be. The food is very flavorful and great quality. This place has one of the best chinese take out I've ever had!! read more

So to start out, this is a Chinese takeout place. If you're looking for gourmet Chinese food, go to P.F. Changs. If you're looking for authentic Chinese food, go to China (or Buford highway in Atlanta!). Now, if you're looking for Chinese takeout, China Chef will not leave you disappointed! First, the food is great. Not the best I've ever had, but not far away. My favorite so far is the General Tso's chicken, but the lo mein is solid too. Second, price wise, this place is hard to beat. Most everything on the menu is available in a combo and the prices range from $6.00-7.00 for the entree, fried rice, and an eggroll. During lunch, the same combos are $4.69 and you can get soup or a coke instead of the egg roll. Third, what really separates China Chef from other Chinese takeout places is the speed. It's easily under ten minutes. One time, I actually want to time how fast they cook the food! I always call in my order (an easy process) and it's always ready by the time I arrive. All in all, highly recommended for takeout! read more

I have always stayed away from strip shopping center Chinese places. Was on a short vacation to mobile , stopped in and got some egg drop soup and shrimp fried rice Quick service , pretty darn good food. Fresh and hot. Got a quart of each and it was under $10 If I lived in the area I would go back on a regular basis. Worth a try read more

First thing's first, I've read the reviews and I feel there are some things that need clarification. One review, which was unfavorable, stated they had faded pictures of food and had only been open a year. China Chef in Daphne, Al. does not have faded pictures of food and have been open 20+years. Another review, not as unfavorable, stated that on account of the pandemic they had gone to takeout only. China Chef in Daphne, Al. has always been takeout only. I believe reviewers are not paying attention to what restaurant they are reviewing. There are five Chinese restaurants along Hwy.98 from Spanish Fort to Fairhope. That said, in the past 20 years that I've been ordering takeout from THIS restaurant I've never had anything bad. My husband, coworkers and myself have always enjoyed their food. This evening I brought home the Chicken with Garlic Sauce the Steak with Peppers and Onions, Hot and Sour Soup along with egg rolls. Everything was amazing! read more

I knew this place was going to be good as soon as I walked in. It's a little hole in the wall with old furniture and wall menus that are illegible. I ordered Mongolian beef, shrimp lo mein, orange chicken, garlic shrimp, egg rolls and everything tasted amazing. I asked for extra spicy seasoning and they delivered! Def worth the $$ read more

Best Chinese food in Daphne, Alabama.. Always fresh and ready to go. Stop by and try for yourself. shayour option with future customers.

Great food at a great price. Staff has always been nice and service is fast. My wife and I go all the time. Highly recommend.

If I could give zero stars I would. I just moved to Spanish Fort and was in search of my new "go to" Chinese. Let me forewarn you this is the worst you will ever get. I am not by any means picky. I also have never done this before but I took three bites of the Mongolian Beef and threw it away. It was chewy and tasted like it had been cooked in burnt sauce. This maybe the only review I write but hope it helps someone. read more
