    Pad Thai

Nestled in the charming city of Daphne, in it's new location is Teak House Thai Cuisine, a culinary journey with its authentic and flavorful dishes since its inception. Founded with a vision to bring the rich and diverse flavors of Thailand to the local community, Teak House has successfully carved a niche for itself in the hearts and palates of Daphne's residents and visitors alike. It's out first time here since it's been resoundingly recommended by a local Foodie group. Teak House's extensive menu showcases the traditional Thai cuisine, with a variety of dishes. From aromatic curries and spicy stir-fries to fragrant soups and flavorful noodle dishes, each plate is prepared using fresh ingredients and authentic Thai spices. An extended wait certainly isn't always a bad thing because cooking something with fresh ingredients and cooking from scratch takes time. Of note is the other offerings that aren't Thai like the crab wontons, and Bangkok Chicken dippers. Some popular dishes include their signature Pad Thai, the aromatic Panang Curry, and the local favorite Drunken Noodles. We started out with a Chinese appetizer, Goyza, which was disappointing because they were a bit greasy and packed the flavors I'm a customer to. I thought a traditional Thai dish might be the best option for my entree. Nothing is a better gauge of a Thai cuisine than Pad Thai, which was my choice . It's rice noodles stir-fried with choice of meat, I had beef, pad Thai sauce, eggs, green onions, tofu, and beansprouts. Served with roasted-ground peanuts, green onions, fresh bean sprouts, and lime wedge. It was okay, but not great for a signature dish. My honey went with the Orange Curry PaNang Choice of meat or vegetarian, she went with Tofu, simmered in a Pa Nang curry with bell peppers, coconut cream and a hint of citrus. Like me she said it's okay, but not great. To be fair, we really love Thai food and I have had it in the four corners of the US and just am not overjoyed with theirs here. In addition to their dine-in services, Teak House also offers convenient takeaway options. The restaurant's attentive staff, shout out to Morgan, took great care of us. The inviting atmosphere, clean tasteful decor and friendly, attentive service are all good. Bottom line: While the high praises and recommended Foodie posts brought us here, and I'm glad we tried it but aren't in my list of go-to Thai cuisine in the area. Teak House is located at 1703 US Hwy 98 E, Daphne, AL 36526. Their hours of operation are: * Mon - Sat 11AM - 3PM, 5PM - 9PM * Sunday: Closed To learn more about Teak House's menu offerings, events, and updates, visit their website at: [http://www.teakhousethai.com](http://www.teakhousethai.com) or Facebook at: [https://www.facebook.com/teakhousethai/](https://www.facebook.com/teakhousethai/)

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. My family loves Thai thought the food was seasoned well and had great flavor. Our only dislike was how thick the wontons were for the crab rangoon appetizer. We also ordered wonton soup and a chicken teriyaki plate to go, and both dishes were said to be good. During dinner hours the lights are dimmed, which kind of hides the outdated interior. If I were to return to this location I would order to go.

Best Pad Thai! The restaurant has moved to their new location in the strip center beside the antique mall and it is very nice - plus more parking which was an issue at their old place. The menu is full of good items but we opted for our regular today- chicken pad Thai and pot stickers. Both were very good. The spring rolls are our favorite app but they were out (due to the winter storm we had!). We also love the yellow curry here too. All good- can't go wrong.

This is the response you get from the owner when you post reviews on actual experience from his staff

I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you like to be ignored by staff after you get the wrong order and just want to make it right. You will be ignored and treated with horrible disrespect and when you reach out to the owner or make a review you will be called a liar and told go elsewhere

This place is pretty good. Had the chicken pad se we that was really tasty. The appetizer sampler also was a hit for us. Very large portion of noodles that could be shared between two adults. Service was as expected, and seating adequate.

My husband and I stopped here on our way out of town. He ordered the Massaman curry with tofu and egg rolls and I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu and gyoza. Both dishes were very good. The service was friendly and the food came out quickly. I would return!

After a day of grueling flights, I was ready to eat! The first thing on my radar when I arrived into town was Thai food! From the exterior, the restaurant looked more like a business office, and I passed it twice because my GPS was directing me across the street! Anywho, as soon as we got into the restaurant the server greeted us and seated us fairly quick! We started off with appetizers and ordered the lunch special eggrolls and Crab Rangoon. Surprisingly, the appetizers came out brown and crispy instead of being over cooked and burnt. I've been to one too many restaurants who either undercooks or overcooks their appetizers. And yes, it's possible to undercooked appetizers! So, I appreciate the appetizers coming into out perfectly cooked! Then, for the main course, I ordered the fried rice with chicken and beef. Now mind you, there's a lunch and dinner portion. I'm glad the waitress told me the difference before my order was being made because the lunch portion was more than enough! I was already getting full half way thru the meal. Besides, the little challenge on finding it's location, everything was great! The waitress was always attentive, the tables were clean, and I couldn't find anything I disliked about the entire meal. I'd recommend giving this place a shot and I would definitely come to eat here again!

We got the satay chicken as our appetizer, and both got Thai Sweet Iced Tea with Cream. Soooooo good. For entrees I got the N29. Pad Thai, medium spicy, with shrimp and extra sauce. My husband got the N34. Drunken Noodle Stir Fry, Thai hot. After we got them he said he wished he had ordered his with extra sauce too, bc the noodles soak up the sauce so fast. Both entrees were delicious but my pad Thai was better lol. I used to go the Bangkok Thai for my pad Thai fix, but theirs seemed off the past few times I ordered. This one was perfect. Totally hit the spot. My new favorite pad Thai in our area.

Food was good. Service was slow the night we went. Took a little bit to get drinks. And even longer to get meals.

However when we arrive we were the ONLY ones in the restaurant, and we were RUSHED! The worker kept coming to the table asking us "ready yet. Ready yet??" Every few minutes. She then stood there and said "okay tell me what you want" when we were clearly still looking through the menu. Then she asked us "how long do you plan to stay!?" Like, hunny we are the ONLY ones in here. And it seems our patronage isn't appreciated We stayed for maybe 40-50mins total. And the one worker NEVER refilled our water once. We were also not very impressed with the flavors of our food. The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL inside, but honestly I probably won't return because it just wasn't an enjoyable experience. (Of note around 8:15 a couple came in and were turned away by her because "it's too late for the kitchen to make new meals". Then about 8:30 a single man came in, and waited in a chair as his meal was made! --maybe he called it in idk but it was very strange to observe)

Yet let the customer beware because we continue to come here when we are in the Orange Beach area because it is one of the only Thai places in town...This is our 3rd time here and I don't recall anything in particular memorable about the previous 2 occasions... We came here at 6:15 on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was not busy yet we were placed on a wait ( literally 4 tables in the whole place were seated). I am guessing that either kitchen staff or wait staff was short due to us having to wait for a table??? Once we were seated, a lovely human came in to order take out and was quoted a time of 40-50 minutes...at this point of our meal experience three tables were filled; there was one additional person waiting for take out, and then the person inquiring about an additional take out order . In my head I am thinking that the food must be fire for someone willing to complete a takeout order and wait that amount of time...Makes me hopeful that the wait for my own food might be worth it (but the cynic in me is doubtful). Beer selection leaves a lot to be desired especially on the Imported front. Appetizers (two orders of spring rolls) came out prior to the entrees which was a pleasant surprise. Spring rolls were served hot and were as to be expected. Portion sizes for entrees are small. We ordered Thai basil fried rice on a Thai hot level and beef drunken noodles with extra vegetables (not sure where the extra veggies were on this) Thai hot. Food great, spice level on point, service sub par, portion size a bit small for the price...more like lunch portions. If the service was better and portions larger, this place would be out of the out of this world, but because they are not l, it is mediocre at best.
