I enjoyed some beef fried rice , fried gyoza and tom kha soup . Everything is SO delicious. My waitress Fernanda is the sweetest thing . They have very soothing music and lovely decor . This was our first visit. We were seated immediatley on a Friday around 6:00. The service was good with a shared approach to service between two servers. Very nice piano light jazz playing and the restaurant was pretty quiet overall. They seem to do a large amount of take out business. We ordered drinks and spring rolls and TomYum soup to start. The spring rolls were just ok maybe a bit too long in the fryer. The Tom Yum soup seemed more sweet than hot and sour, not traditional but, it was tasty. It was just not what I was expecting. By the way there was enough for two for appetizer and lunch the next day. Next we both got pad thai, she had chicken, I had beef. Both were very tasty and plenty of food. The people were very friendly and welcoming here however the food was lacking in spice for our taste of traditional Thai cuisine. We may come back. read more

After living in Fairhope for 5 years and having Pad Thai from this place at least once a month. I can confidently say this place is a true gem. We have ate most things from the menu and have never been disappointed. I will say the heat scale can vary a bit so if you don't want to risk it just get mild. I find their food to be a bit more bland compared to Thai food I have had at other restaurants. The tom yum soup was quite good and the pad thai was flavorful if a little saucy. Spring rolls were delicious, flaky and served with a nice chili dipping sauce. I'd say 4 1/2 stars would be correct. First off, the food was AMAZING. Good portions, terrific flavor. Very authentic. Great service as well. It got progressively busier as we were there and the two young ladies serving tables did a pretty good job keeping up with everyone. The restaurant inside was nice enough with a mixture of tables and booths. Large TVs are placed strategically around the restaurant which for us at least was a little distracting but not a real issue. Just want to restate, the food was INCREDIBLE. I grabbed some takeout from here while staying the night in Daphne, and it was pretty good. The online ordering system had a couple of glitches and it took a lot longer to get through it than it should have. Prices are fairly reasonable, although for the shrimp spring rolls, the price was a bit much for the amount of shrimp - and they are over packed with the other fillers, so it took away from the shrimp flavor. I ordered noodles and kind of created my own with one of the base dishes. Adding extra veggies added up quickly, and the amount was not really worth the price, but they were cooked well. I agree with one review to order a level up in spice depending on your pallet. It was hot and ready in about 20 minutes by the time I arrived. The restaurant itself is really nice looking with a lot of Thai touches. It was really peaceful inside, and had I had time, would have just eaten there. Maybe next time. I live in Pensacola and come to Daphne for Bangkok Thai often. The chef has never disappointed. I have had many different options from the menu. Curry, fried rice, pad Thai, Me krob lab nah, crunchy tofu, and more. I begin looking forward to the lunch the day before. By the time I get to the restaurant I am ready. My brother and I get the summer rools with the Satay sauce for appetizer....amazing. Tom Ka soup is my brother's favorite and is yummy. We are planning to go again day after tomorrow and I can't wait. I know all the servers and they are excellent. Always pleasant and helpful, especially when one doesn't know about a particular dish. I was passing through the area and had stopped for the night in Daphne, and needed to grab a bite to eat. I quickly settled on Bangkok Thai Cuisine as the rest of the options in the area seemed to be mostly chain restaurants. Entering the place, it was decorated with the usual accouterments we have all come to expect in a Thai restaurant. I was seated quickly, and water was brought to me which is always a good thing as I ride a motorcycle, and dehydration after a long day riding is not uncommon. For a starter I went with the summer rolls, which I always love. They were good, and I really enjoyed them. I then ordered the Tom Yum soup. This was kind of a mistake, as I was not expecting the soup to be a full family sized portion meant for four people. The price was right in there for a single bowl, but this thing was an absolute monster. It was excellent though, and I got through as much as I could before calling it quits and moving on to my main. For my main, I went with the pad thai, which was also quite large, but excellent. I managed to get through the whole thing, though it was tough. I did get the soup put into a container for take-home, and I even managed to get it all the way home to Florida the next day without spilling any, even on my motorcycle! So... you are forewarned... portion sizes here are huge, but the flavors are excellent and you will not be disappointed. read more

We were seated as soon as we walked in. The service started off great. We were greeted and our drink order taken. Shortly after our food order was taken. It wasn't until 5 out of 6 of our orders came out that we had an issue. Our appetizer came after food, with the exception of the last order we waited on. We kept being assured they were starting the curry. Finally the curry comes out and the waitress says sorry, the kitchen forgot and then I reminded them and they forgot again. We let her know that wasn't really an excuse for the kitchen. She then avoided our table and walked around the opposite way to go check on other tables. We were left without drink for a long while. When addressing the issue with the man at the register he just made excuses for her poor service and said sorry. We didn't expect anything in return but it was a Mother's Day dinner and the mother couldn't eat her food at the Restraunt because it was so late after the others were finished eating and still super hot. read more

I want to preface this review by stating that my wife and I love Thai cuisine and have eaten at over forty different Thai restaurants. Most of our experiences have been wonderful. We recently visited this restaurant due to traveling through the state of Alabama. The waitress was wonderful and very sweet. After ordering and enjoying their chicken satay, we thought we made a good choice with this restaurant. For our entree, my wife ordered the volcano beef and I ordered the basil fried rice with pork. It took a very long time to get our meal. When it came, my wife received an entree that was not the volcano beef. She caught the waitress before she walked away and pointed out the discrepancy. The manager came out and actually argued with my wife about the order. He finally left with the dish and credited it off our bill. We decided that we would both eat my entree. Until we actually tasted it. The basil fried rice with pork was virtually tasteless. We ate the vegetables and a little of the pork and left the plate basically untouched. When the waitress came back to the table, we were frustrated and ready to leave. She asked if we wanted a to go box and I let her know that I did not care for the dish. There was no further conversation and she brought the bill. This is hands down the worst experience that I have ever had at a Thai restaurant. read more

The portion of the food is smaller, the waitress never asked if we wanted another drink, wait time was longer, and we watch another table sit there for an hour before the waitress took Thier order. Took my family of five to dinner (lunch) with high expectations as this is supposedly highly rated, I was very let down. SERVICE The service sucked even though it was maybe 25% occupancy. Had to ask for dinnerware, had to ask for water refills. Had to send one glass back with obvious foreign debris floating in the bottom of it. Double checked rest of glasses for cleanliness, really bad when you're compelled to do that. Server was very young and had little charisma or charm, and offered no apologies for the water or shame for forgetting the dinnerware. Bad waitstaff kills restaurants. APPETIZERS Shrimp Summer Rolls were disappointing, no herbs for added flavor, wrap, lettuce and shrimp, pretty dull if you ask me. And the peanut sauce was just as dull and lifeless. Spring Rolls came out lukewarm like they'd sat for awhile before being served. The Crab Rangoon was good, my daughter enjoyed those. ENTRÉES I ordered a $20. Softshell Crab in Curry, yes I got a decent sized crab, but scant curry and vegetables. Overall it was very tasty, just a very small serving of curry sauce and veggies and I was left debating ordering another questionable appetizer to fill me up. I decided to not chance it. The other four entree dishes ranged from fairly good to delicious, and were generously portioned. .................. I vote with my wallet, I will not be going back and I do not recommend. The people are always on time with their pickup estimates and the place appears clean inside but I don't spend a lot of time since we carry out. How I wish i can give more stars ti this restaurant because the foods we ordered were all delicious but the customer service we got was really terrible. We went around 6:30 PM and we waited to be greeted and seated for almost 15 minutes. We noticed that there were 2 servers busy with other customers. Finally one of them approached us and told us we can just sit anywhere we want. After another 15 minutes sitting down and no one came to give us the menu, we had to call one of the servers to give us one. I know they took so long to do stuff so we quickly pick what we wanted to eat and called the servers busy but he was so busy that another 30 minutes passed by before he came to take our orders. At this time I wanted to just leave the restaurant just like the other couple behind us did but my husband was so hungry he didn't want to gamble in another restaurant . The ambiance looked so busy because there were so many customers waiting in line to pick up food, waiting to be seated and waiting to pay. There were only 5 tables with dine in guests so I do not understand why it took them so long thankfully the more than an hour wait was compensated with the delicious foods. If only they add more staff and improve their service this restaurant can definitely be a 4 star with great tasting Thai foods. read more

The dining area is well thought out. The tables, benches and chairs are hand carved and so pretty. The light fixtures and wall decor are all well thought out. The hot tea was refreshing. The spice levels are mild, medium or very hot. I went with very hot and it was more like a mild for my palette. The spring roll appetizer was crispy and definitely freshly made. It was not greasy or chewy. The Tom Kha with shrimp was a solid soup. It was slightly less creamy than some but didn't lack flavor. The pad kee mao was delicious. It had tofu and the veggies were nice and Al dente. The pad see ew with beef was flavorful and also fresh. The staff was friendly and attentive. read more

We enjoyed a lovely date night with good service & a delicious meal. This was our first time at Bangkok Thai, but it will not be our last.

I am learning to stop at the local restaurants and steer away from the chain operated restaurants. This is an example of excellent food in an unlikely place. My daughter and I went for lunch, always a good time to try a new place. The service was really good. The owner/chef came out to answer our multitude of questions and take our order. I listened to his recommendations and off we go. The combination appetizer was so fresh and the oil was light for a great wonton, spring roll and something else that was great! The Ka soup was sweet and still had a hint of heat. My dish was different in that it had cucumbers in the spicy and sweet chicken. No more reservations about that...it was fantastic! My daughter ordered a chicken and noodle dish. The colors, aroma and flavors were a treat. The decor is very authentic and fun to look at. When I called about the wontons, they said it was "either pork or chicken" and "just an add-on, bc it's a fried wonton".

It's easy to get into the well maintained parking lot from Highway 98 or from the back entrance which parallels 98. The shopping center is clean and nice. We weren't quite sure if the restaurant was open because it looked quite dark through the windows which were crowded with all sorts of things. Inside was crowded with decorations and just all sorts of stuff. It was claustrophobic. On entry there was one waitress who ignored us as she made at least four trips past us. Even though the sign advised wait to be seated, I gave in to my wife's request not to leave and we seated ourselves to the waitress' chagrin. I ordered the fried tofu as an appetizer. While it looked as if it had just been hacked up and thrown on a plate, it was good. I wish there had been a more Thai style sauce served with it rather than the standard American sweet and sour. For our meal I got the squid and my wife the Bangkok salad. She enjoyed her salad with the peanut dressing. For me, while the flavors were good, the squid was so tough and chewy that it made the dish disappointing. The accompanying rice was just unceremoniously spooned onto a plate with no attempt to present it well. We were given very small coffee saucers for serving plates. Mind you, I'm talking maybe a 4" plate. There was no way you could serve a portion of rice onto the plate and then any of your entree. The waitress and the cook got into an argument with another table. It was quite uncomfortable. The waitress was not polite. She stood waiting for me to sign the check as if I was holding her up. The bill wasn't bad. The place has potential with removing some of the clutter and giving good attention to the customers. Be polite and happy to see your customers. That's what would bring me back. This visit convinced me I probably won't be back. read more

I love the staff here!! The food is just absolutely amazing especially the Prik King with chicken. I highly recommend it!!! Try the Tom Ka soup as well, those are my favorite meals. The booth seats are a bit ripped from previous customers but to be honest the tables in the middle are more comfortable anyway. Gigantic portions for a reasonable price. Will come back!!! read more

I waited 45 minutes and had to ask where my order was. They then brought me someone else's food and tried to push it off as mine. Then they said they would start a new order, so I told them to make it take-away. After another 10 minutes they brought curry chicken instead of curry shrimp. I refused it and went to manager. He made me pay for my soup and tea instead of complimentary. I wasted my Friday date night and ended up eating a sandwich at Waffle House. This restaurant is understaffed and poorly managed. This place is dirty and unkept. These are pictures of the wall at the booth we sat in and the plastic covered seats are ripped/torn and uncomfortable. The service was horrible, Our order was wrong and the food was mediocre for the price. I will never go here again... hoping we won't be sick tomorrow.
