Crab and Cheese Wontons
Wes A.

Taste of Thai has been a favorite of ours for well over a decade, going back to their days in Irvington. The only negative is that it will absolutely destroy your ability to eat Thai food anywhere else, because it is so good you realize just how poor the food & flavoring is at other Thai restaurants. Always great service, food comes out fresh, hot, quick, and delicious every time. Can't say enough good things about this place. Highly recommend!

Vegetables & grilled shrimp, rice & vegetables egg rolls

If you live in West Mobile you need to try this place. The food is amazing. Even though it's Thai you can order anything not spicy or REALLY SPICY!! Service is great and it's really nice inside.

The staff is friendly and helpful. Food is made to order. It smelled amazing. I ordered takeout for my daughter. She liked it. It was bland to me but that's because she had them make it without any vegetables besides cabbage. The place was clean from what I could see. Not too aesthetically pleasing but not awful.

Crab Fried Rice

Two stars off for taste and price. I don't mind paying the price for excellent taste but this Thai food was lacking flavor. The best parts of this meal were the freshness and temperature of the food, and the service and cleanliness of the restaurant. We were there for lunch on a weekday and for 3 people it was just under $100. No lunch specials offered. What we ordered, spring rolls(excellent), tom ka soup(good, would have again but only if it were included in meal), crab fried rice(average taste, definitely not worth the $19 price tag), pad thai with shrimp(average taste on pad Thai flavor, shrimp tasted so bland they were either not prepared well or farm raised shrimp), crispy chicken(not sure if that's exactly what it was called, but it was average, chicken fried well but lacking flavor). One peeve, we ordered drinks, 2 sodas and 1 water. The waiter informed water was bottled. That's a pretty low scheme to get an extra $3-$4 when you're charging those type prices for lunch. Some take aways, maybe we would have felt better about the price if we had chosen this as a dinner spot. And maybe if I'd never had great Thai food before, the flavors here wouldn't have fallen so short.

This is the best Thai food there is. The fried wontons are amazing. I haven't found any anywhere else that even compare. The soups are great, especially the Tom Ka. The Pad Thai is delicious. My favorite meal to order is the Spicy Siam. You get so much chicken and it's always fresh and hot. My kids are obsessed with the chicken fried rice. You can get any spiciness level you want on any of the dishes you order. The food is just as good when you get it to go as it is in the restaurant.

I had high hopes for this cute new place. If you want a rice dish or simple fried appetizer this might work for you. I asked for a substitution and was told that they don't do that. So I asked for another type of dressing on a salad. Same thing we don't change our menu. It's not a lot of authentic Thai offerings. But it wasn't awful.

Seafood gumbo. It's not Thai but it's great!

Pricey, tasteless, and not abundant. We took it home for our chickens...they didn't even eat it. we won't go back. Very disappointed.

Love the shrimp pad Tai, and the pineapple fried rice! Crab Rangoons have a little too many onions in them for me, but otherwise very good.

The worker kept coming to the table asking us "ready yet. Ready yet??" Every few minutes. She then stood there and said "okay tell me what you want" when we were clearly still looking through the menu. Then she asked us "how long do you plan to stay!?" Like, hunny we are the ONLY ones in here. And it seems our patronage isn't appreciated We stayed for maybe 40-50mins total. And the one worker NEVER refilled our water once. We were also not very impressed with the flavors of our food. The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL inside, but honestly I probably won't return because it just wasn't an enjoyable experience. (Of note around 8:15 a couple came in and were turned away by her because "it's too late for the kitchen to make new meals". Then about 8:30 a single man came in, and waited in a chair as his meal was made! --maybe he called it in idk but it was very strange to observe)

The peanut dipping sauce complemented the appetizer nicely. For my meal, I had the Spicy Pineapple Curry with Shrimp. Nice heat and superb flavor. The rice was fresh and provided the filling coolness to the spicy curry. Restaurant had beautiful decor and the service was great. Wasn't busy at all because I went before the dinner crowd. If I had to complain about anything, I guess there could have been a few more shrimp. But still a really satisfying dinner

It got progressively busier as we were there and the two young ladies serving tables did a pretty good job keeping up with everyone. The restaurant inside was nice enough with a mixture of tables and booths. Large TVs are placed strategically around the restaurant which for us at least was a little distracting but not a real issue. Just want to restate, the food was INCREDIBLE. We will be coming back for more.

Very nice piano light jazz playing and the restaurant was pretty quiet overall. They seem to do a large amount of take out business. We ordered drinks and spring rolls and TomYum soup to start. The spring rolls were just ok maybe a bit too long in the fryer. The Tom Yum soup seemed more sweet than hot and sour, not traditional but, it was tasty. It was just not what I was expecting. By the way there was enough for two for appetizer and lunch the next day. Next we both got pad thai, she had chicken, I had beef. Both were very tasty and plenty of food. The people were very friendly and welcoming here however the food was lacking in spice for our taste of traditional Thai cuisine. We may come back.
