Their food is always good. The portion sizes are always well worth the money too. I ordered the dinner portion of General Tso's Chicken with vegetable fried rice (no mushrooms). I took this picture after I had already eaten half but it was so good and I love that they give you the rice on the side with the little takeout box. The service is always good and I order online before going so I don't have to wait read more

Great food! We were in town for the day and just stumbled on this place. We Wii be back.

I ordered General Tso's tofu and crab rangoon over the phone for pick up. I told them that I did not want soft tofu, that it needed to be firm (soft tofu tastes like jell-O without the flavor to me). The crab rangoon was excellent, but the tofu was cooked way too long and was rubbery. Can't seem to find a Chinese restaurant in Mobile that knows how to cook it right. The prior place where I got the same stuff didn't cook it long enough, even after the person on the phone told me that they would tell the chef to make sure it was firm. read more

There are establishments that solidly help support neighborhoods and this is one of them. Good food, fair prices and happy tummies: what every neighborhood needs in their Chinese restaurant. I've adopted this as my neighborhood Chinese restaurant too, driving ten miles to do so! Takeout tonight was Hot and Sour soup, Pepper Steak and Veggie lo mein. All were delicious and totaled just over $20. The Hot and Sour soup was my favorite tonight. The broth was chili flake satisfyingly comforting without being too much. The full bodied broth had plenty of mushrooms and tofu too. Even with a small I'll have enough for a second bowl tomorrow! Pepper steak smelled and tasted delicious with steamed rice and the lo mein was on point as usual. There are a few tables inside but I never see people eating-- just walk ups waiting. You can tell the neighborhood regulars dropping by to pickup their call in orders too with perfected timing arriving exactly when the order is ready. Cooked to order waits average 20 minutes. This walk-in takeout is worth the drive and my food is still warm when I get home too! read more

We come here occasionally, the food is always good, this place has a very extensive menu. I recommend the Kung Pao Chicken & Sesame Chicken. I see a lot of Door Dash drivers here. Most people just order their food to go, it's pretty busy. read more

Food was horrible. No flavor. I will not be back. I ordered 4 different things thinking at least one thing would be good, not so! YUK!

Hong Kong Express is in a strip mall behind Chick-fil-A on Dauphin St. They have various items on the menu that you can pick and choose to make a combo plate. I ordered the orange chicken and general tso combo plate. The chicken was swimming in sauce. If you prefer less sauce definitely mention it when ordering. I also ordered the Mongolian beef, but sadly it was mostly onions. This establishment is not too bad for Chinese food and their portions are huge. Price is decent as well. read more

It had been several years since I had eaten here, and this place has definitely upped their game. Fresh vegetables and subtle seasonings. Friendly family owned business. Having lived in several much larger cities I am picky about my Chinese food. This place passes with a solid "A". read more

I'm no expert when it comes to Chinese food, but this is my favorite place to eat it. In my opinion, the best thing on the menu is the orange chicken. Head's up - those aren't carrots in the sauce, they're orange peels. Don't bite into them. The Hunan chicken is also very good, as are the moo goo gai pan, sweet and sour chicken and the beef and broccoli. The fried rice and egg rolls are typical and the crab won-tons are a little better than average. They give you quite a few in an order too. This place isn't fancy. It's a little divey, with a tv and a few tables, located in a strip mall. There's no buffet, no ornate wood or oriental pieces. You walk in, go to the counter, order, pay and wait for your food. The food comes packaged in a to-go container and the drinks are in cans or bottles. It's just good food, plain and simple. We can feed our family of four in here for about $30-$35, and you can't beat that. read more

I'm very picky about trying new Chinese restaurants that's outta town just because I don't know how good the food will be compare at home. To my surprise, the food was actually good but I'm not crazy for there Hot & Sour soup. I was skeptical about eating here because of there score of a 85 on the health inspection and it felt like they didn't want the public to know. It'll help if they took down the many flyers advertising there special so it won't confuse there customers. read more

I've been looking for good Chinese food in Mobile since I moved there a few years ago and have never been satisfied until I went to Hong Kong Express!! Amazing food for an amazing price can't be beat! Highly recommend! read more

I wish I could give this place a negative 5 stars! I work at the results companies across the street. So I ate here a lot, because I could order ahead. Well, yesterday as a reward for being a loyal customer; they decided to give me a surprise with my meal! There was a roach in my food! They had low ratings but they seemed clean. Please don't eat here, I've even drove all the way from my house and fed my children that garbage. I did get my money back, I'm still sick and disgusted! read more

I don't always give 5 stars But the Singapore Noodles were the best I have ever had ! The fries rice was ...well really fried , not just yellow rice ,Have eaten from this place 2 days in a row I recommend take out ,it's not really a sit down place read more

This is my go to for Chinese take out and seems to be for many others too. Very reasonable, fresh and hot! My friend loves their "hot" wings!!! We love the General Tso's and Beef with vegies. Dumpling sauce is my fav. Next time I'll have to try the Singapore noodles!!! read more

I used to love this place, but this last time the wait was over 30 minutes, the food was ok but not nearly as good as in the past, and the portions were a lot smaller. Usually for $30.00 my family of 4 (2 adults, 5 and 10 year old) can eat supper, then my daughter can eat lo-mein and my husband and I can have leftovers the next day. There was enough for one person left over and that was scraping the bottom of the container. Also, the lobby was in dire need of a scrub down. Before I left I noticed that on their last health inspection they received an 86. I don't know that I will be back anymore. read more

I went there last night. I order orange chicken. I told the lady my daughter is highly allergic to seafood. Let me just say. We eat that the place in the mall in PF Chang an not 1 time did she have a problem. After eating the food from hong kong express. We had to got get Benadryl. She ended up having to take her EpiPen. I call the restaurant the lady said their was no seafood in the orange chicken. I asked if she used the same pan they use for seafood. Her response was oooooooo. She said next time request A CLEAN PAN TO COOK HER FOOD..... She said all Chinese restaurants use the same pans to cook. I also order tea. Now ya'll know normally the tea be so so good. Not the case. It was a large container of brown water. Such a let-down. But the lady in hong kong express told me she would refund my food but not the tea. The cost was $7 and change. She only gave me $7. As if she does not know how much the orange chicken cost. I will never shop there again!!!!!!!#why do I to request a clean pan wben I tell you the food is for a person with seafood allergies..##they need to do better. read more

I'm in from out of town and was looking for some Chinese food and based off the reviews I decided to order from here. I ordered chicken and broccoli combination plate. Chicken was cold and had very little sauce. The broccoli was hot though and frankly the best part of the meal. The hibachi fried rice had no flavor and the egg drop soup was super dark-gross. The egg roll wasn't even cooked through and the fortune cookie was stale. Save your money for a better restaurant. read more
