Walk up window but they do call in too.

There are establishments that solidly help support neighborhoods and this is one of them. Good food, fair prices and happy tummies: what every neighborhood needs in their Chinese restaurant. I've adopted this as my neighborhood Chinese restaurant too, driving ten miles to do so! Takeout tonight was Hot and Sour soup, Pepper Steak and Veggie lo mein. All were delicious and totaled just over $20. The Hot and Sour soup was my favorite tonight. The broth was chili flake satisfyingly comforting without being too much. The full bodied broth had plenty of mushrooms and tofu too. Even with a small I'll have enough for a second bowl tomorrow! Pepper steak smelled and tasted delicious with steamed rice and the lo mein was on point as usual. There are a few tables inside but I never see people eating-- just walk ups waiting. You can tell the neighborhood regulars dropping by to pickup their call in orders too with perfected timing arriving exactly when the order is ready. Cooked to order waits average 20 minutes. This walk-in takeout is worth the drive and my food is still warm when I get home too!

We come here occasionally, the food is always good, this place has a very extensive menu. I recommend the Kung Pao Chicken & Sesame Chicken. I see a lot of Door Dash drivers here. Most people just order their food to go, it's pretty busy.

    House Special Mei Fun Noodles

This was my first visit. The staff were very nice. Today I got the House Special Mei Fun noodles. This is the rice noodles with combination meat. The portion size is really nice. Definitely enough for two people or a couple of meals. This was $10.19 this is tax included.

    Mongolian Beef

Hong Kong Express is in a strip mall behind Chick-fil-A on Dauphin St. They have various items on the menu that you can pick and choose to make a combo plate. I ordered the orange chicken and general tso combo plate. The chicken was swimming in sauce. If you prefer less sauce definitely mention it when ordering. I also ordered the Mongolian beef, but sadly it was mostly onions. This establishment is not too bad for Chinese food and their portions are huge. Price is decent as well.

    Orange chicken!

I'm no expert when it comes to Chinese food, but this is my favorite place to eat it. In my opinion, the best thing on the menu is the orange chicken. Head's up - those aren't carrots in the sauce, they're orange peels. Don't bite into them. The Hunan chicken is also very good, as are the moo goo gai pan, sweet and sour chicken and the beef and broccoli. The fried rice and egg rolls are typical and the crab won-tons are a little better than average. They give you quite a few in an order too. This place isn't fancy. It's a little divey, with a tv and a few tables, located in a strip mall. There's no buffet, no ornate wood or oriental pieces. You walk in, go to the counter, order, pay and wait for your food. The food comes packaged in a to-go container and the drinks are in cans or bottles. It's just good food, plain and simple. We can feed our family of four in here for about $30-$35, and you can't beat that.

Best sesame chicken in town! Wide selection of authentic Chinese cuisine. Very generous portions and quick service.

The main point is the food is good and the people who work there are friendly. I ordered a small yet it is really big. It was chicken with mixed vegetables. Sometimes it's hard to try new Chinese restaurant outta town because you don't know how the food would be. The restaurant isn't large to accommodate a family because it resemble a food shack. Walking in, I immediately knew what I wanted to get. So, I ended up ordering Chicken with broccoli and a small hot and sour soup to go. The soup had lots of vegetables and the seasoning in the broth bought out the flavor of the soup. The chicken and broccoli were cook all the way and a good amount of sauce (which is good since I don't like it dry) were added onto the meal. Some restaurant be putting too much grease on the fried rice itself, but they manage to pull off the impossible on that task and the pork and onion gave the rice good flavor. Even though the place isn't appealing, they have really good food at a decent price.

Placed our order. Pulled into the most sketchy parking lot thats dimly lit. Mrs Pug and I eased into the building, an old chicken joint of some flavor. Fella working was very nice and building was clean. Order was ready and lots of take out menus available for future reference. Loaded up food and headed back to the kennel. Portions were large and all the ingredients were very fresh. We had pork egg foo young and the gravy was fabulous. The chicken in the sesame chicken was clearly prepared fresh to order and not precooked waiting in a bucket for whatever sauce would be appropriate to turn nuggets into whichever flavor you ordered. The beef and vegetables were cooked to perfection, vegetables were crispy but cooked all the way. And the flavor was on spot. We will certainly put this spot into the rotation for dinner options.
