Still amazing The reason I love this place so much is the fresh unique offerings that they have on the buffet. Green beans: amazing Fried zucchini: best i ever had Coconut chicken: amazing Peanut butter chicken: very good Baked Cheese seafood: very good

Such a great variety of all you can eat for only $9.25. The buffet had breaded fried catfish, steamed oysters and shrimp cooked several different ways, besides the traditional Chinese buffet staples. The owner did an outstanding job of keeping his or her's customers coming back by offering delicious Chinese food and traditional American food together! For dessert, make sure you try the mocha mousse cake

It's a decent enough place, very tropical. I couldn't find anything extraordinary nor terrible. I don't usually do 3 star reviews but since I'm I'm Alabama for a couple weeks, I was pleasantly surprised to find a decent Chinese buffet. It definitely needs a facelift inside and the food maybe frozen but several items are fresh and enjoyable.

Seated as far into the corner as possible. The last table all the way back was mine. All empty in front of me.

It's the only Chinese restaurant in Atmore. The food is good, just don't look down at the carpet.

Surprisingly good. One of the better buffets I have been to. The best time to go is 11am to 1230pm or 4pm to 6pm.

You have a 50-50 chance as to good or bad food. They have a pretty good selection for a small town restaurant

I have been eating here for years. The food is always very good and the portions are large. My favorite Chinese eatery.

One interesting thing is that while it is all you can eat, they serve it cafeteria style. So you tell them what you want and they put it on the plate. This must have changed since COVID. You used to be able to serve yourself. The food is good, but it taste like someone is cooking scared. Nothing had any seasoning. Nothing popped with flavor. No smoke on the pulled pork (I got outside meat to be able to taste it) Bland spaghetti, bland chicken and dumplings, bland greens, bland, bland, bland - except for the fried chicken and fried fish which were okay, compared to the rest. Service was not overly friendly, or even friendly either. Pretty much here's your seat, here's your drink. I would probably come back one more time. Definitely will not come back if the next time is like this time. 2 1-2 stars is what I would give it. Rounding up to 3 in memory of a place that used to be a lot better.

My uncle and I have been making a two-hour trip to Wind Creek locations in Alabama for months, and what we've experienced is beyond frustrating--it's a consistent pattern that feels completely stacked against players. When you factor in the time, fuel, and money just to get there, the experience is flat-out unacceptable. The payouts are consistently terrible. Not just "we had a bad night"--I'm talking about repeated trips, across weekdays and weekends, where machines barely hit at all. You can walk the entire floor and see the same thing: people visibly frustrated, hardly anyone winning, and machines that feel like they're designed to take and never give back. Out of all the times we've gone, there was only one stretch--around February--that the machines seemed to pay anything back. Every other visit has followed the same pattern of extremely low or nonexistent payouts. Here's the bigger issue that people need to understand: Alabama does NOT have traditional casino regulation or oversight like other states. These aren't fully regulated gaming environments with enforced payout standards and transparency. That lack of accountability shows, and it's the players who pay the price. If you're already driving any significant distance, do yourself a favor and go to another state where casinos are actually regulated, audited, and required to meet fair payout standards. At least there, you know there's some level of oversight protecting the customer. Bottom line: save your time, save your money, and avoid Wind Creek casinos in Alabama altogether. There are far better--and far more transparent--options elsewhere.

This casual buffet is off the beaten path. Not off the main highway. So it may be a bit of challenge to get there. It is not purely soul food. That is why I said it is more southern style food. But you will find notable examples of soul food on the buffet choices. I was amazed to find turkey necks and rutabaga as one of many delicious dishes. You never see that unless you search for it. If you never had it. I encourage you to try it out and form your opinion on them. It is a great atmosphere and decent size restaurant. They have plenty of parking spaces in the front and back of the restaurant. I ask you proceed with caution. You have to time it right on Sundays. The place is very busy and hard to find a parking spot and a table due to the church crowd. Once they leave, they have plenty of space. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It may not seem like they do not have enough staff. However, they do very well and great customer service. Both at the front desk and at your table. The outside tables are mainly booths with an interesting view of the outside. They also have a unique little hook to hang your purse or jacket on the outside of the table. The inside of restaurant has regular tables and chairs. They can easily accommodate your large party. However, may take some time to arrange the right conditions for you and your guests. They definitely handicap accessible dining and especially for the little ones. The tables regular with chairs with some padding. If you want better seats. I encourage you to sit in the booth. They accept cash and cards. First responders and military discount with valid ID. I believe they do discount for others. Please refer to the website for details and more information. The chef that took over cooking duties has given several cooking demonstrations on local channels, (in fact, I think the restaurant got an update to its name - "Nelson's Barnyard Buffet") so we decided it was time to give them another try. The food quality is SO IMPROVED since the last time we went. We frequent many AYCE buffets in the Mobile and Baldwin county areas. So, we know the good ones, the bad ones - the consistent ones and the inconsistent ones. In the three times we've recently been to Nelson's Barnyard Buffet, the food has been consistently excellent. Service and cleanliness are spot on. I'm GLAD this place is a bit of a drive, for us, as overeating is practically unavoidable, there. For AYCE Country cooking, (mostly country cooking) this place is at the top of our list. (It even beats Saraceno's (our favorite AYCE Buffet, in Baldwin County) Try it. You won't leave hungry.
