Absolutely worth it!…read more We came with a group of 13 unannounced and they could not have accommodated us better. In three lines my group ordered before I even knew it was time to pay! Each of the computers were connected so I could pay for all the charges on one card and it was under $100! I was impressed right there, but it gets better! Walking in we thought it was full, but saw seats open up right away. They then brought the food out before we could all get seated in our two tables. The food hit the spot after that and on top of that the restrooms were clean and the whole place was laid out well! Highly recommend! Better than Cane's overall. I hate to say it.

They have over 40+ flavors so if you don't know which to get just ask. I got the 12(pc) wings fried hard (extra crispy) spicy lemon pepper & crack flavors with the freaky fries topped with chicken . The wing flavor profiles were on point. The spicy lemon pepper nailed the perfect balance - zesty, savory, with just the right kick. Then the crack flavor brought that addictive sweet vibe that paired beautifully with the heat.. The freaky fries were great as well they layered with flavors and well seasoned. Definitely need to come back and try the shrimp fries. Pro tip for all long-haul OTR drivers: Fry Daddy's is less than half a mile from the Love's truck stop. Drop your trailer, bobtail over, or just walk - it's an easy detour that's 100% worth it. Don't sleep on this spot!

You can tell they take pride in keeping the restaurant looking great, and that immediately gave me a good first impression. Next, the staff is genuinely happy, and that tells me they enjoy their workplace. Third, the food was outstanding. I had the classic chicken fingers meal, and because it was my first time, they offered me a variety of sauces to try. I love that they did that because it made me want to come back again. While everyone is here for the chicken, the fries are actually amazing. Now, I am not a big chicken fingers person, but I can definitely get used to having them more often because the atmosphere was so inviting. It is easy to see why this place has such a loyal following, and I completely understand the hype after my first visit. I am glad my hotel suggested it to me. I will definitely be back.

But when Spice Wing opened in Semmes,my wife and I were among the first to try it, and now I won't get wings anywhere else. The people working there are always friendly, and they work hard to earn your money by going the extra mile. The lobby is colorful and decorative, which is fun, and there is some seating there, because nobody wants to do take out all the time. My first go around, I tried the garlic Parmesan, and the flavor was absolutely amazing! It was bold without being spicy, and not overly greasy, allowing the flavor to come through. Today, I tried the teriyaki wings, and I they too were really great, drowned in sauce but still maintaining their crispiness on the outside and juiciness on the inside! I'm already a repeat customer, so they've got me. It's worth the drive over to Semmes.

3.5, rounding up to 4 because of great service and the most important thing (the bbq) being good…read more We stopped here for lunch headed home from the gulf. As others have mentioned, it's a bit off the beaten path, but certainly a worthwhile stop if you enjoy bbq. This business has more seating/space inside than it looks like it might outside. We arrived and parked near the entrance in the gravel lot. It looked like they were working on a food truck while we were there. Stepping inside, it was dimly lit but clean. There are some nostalgic kids' games on the tables which provided my dad with lots of entertainment (Hungry, Hungry Hippos anyone?). The service was very kind and friendly and took care to ensure we were comfortable. I thought the prices were a touch high but they probably have to be to stay afloat. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with two sides, collard greens and smoked mac and cheese. My parents did the same thing, though I don't remember what their sides were. I thought the barbeque pork was really quite solid. It was a huge portion, so large I ultimately wound up taking the top bun off, spearing hunks of pork and putting sauce on them, then tearing off a hunk of bun rather than eating it as a traditional sandwich. The pork was tender but not mushy, not too fatty, and with a pleasant smoke flavor. The bun was nice and soft too. Definitely recommend the bbq! The sweet and slightly smoky thick bbq sauce was a great accompaniment. I liked the mac and cheese on first bite but as I kept eating it something about the smoke taste just seemed off to me. It became more and more chemical-y and artificial tasting to me, and by the time I was halfway done I was over it. I also was pretty meh on the collard greens, but to be honest I'm not normally a huge fan of them anyway so YMMV. They were a nice texture at least. Overall, solid bbq meat and great service. They're worth a shot if you're in the area.
