We decided to try this restaurant after reading about it in a foodie group I am in. It was delicious and so many different dishes that were constantly being replenished. There is a sushi bar and hibachi, salad , dessert, ice cream , and fruit stations as well. The wait staff was very friendly and clearing the tables quickly. I tried some things I have never seen at another Chinese buffet and so much food I couldn't try everything even tho I sure wanted to. We will be back. read more

This place is pretty popular. This was my first time. Stopped by late and they were all smiles to welcome my party. The price was reasonable and the variety of what they offered, hot and ready, at such a late hour... was amazing! It is not made to order so the taste isn't as spicy or as vibrant as those. It was good for the price and time. I will return. The location was clean, more so than I had actually expected for a buffet. The corners and back counters were tidy. Dragon City Buffet is housed in a building that has definitely seen better days. Pulling up, I debated going in because of how the outside looked, but I decided to give it a try because of all of the cars in the parking lot. The inside is more inviting than the exterior and the staff was friendly enough. The food here is what you would expect from a buffet. The restaurant needs a "tune-up" it looks worn and very dated and has the feel that it needs a good scrub. I wondered about the condition of the kitchen and the food prep area... but, I heard good things about the food so I had to try it ! The epitome of bang for your buck. Probably the last buffet in the Mobile area with any sort of decent sushi. It's buffet sushi though, but it's a quick fix. My little sister, who is a fairly picky eater, really enjoyed this place. Might not mean much to any if you, but it says a decent amount for me. She'd typically just get chicken and fries, then go straight for dessert. But, she actually tried things here and enjoyed it! The fried crab was great. A very nice buffet at a reasonable price. Food was hot and fresh, all the way up to closing. What impressed me the most was watching the staff clean up as we were leaving. For a Chinese buffet in the middle of pretty much nowhere, this is by far one of the better ones that we have dinned at. Service was very friendly. Food was fresh and tasty. They had very good clams, crawfish (spicy, yummy), ribs, steak, egg rolls, coconut shrimp, spring rolls, and pretty much everything on the menu for only $12.99. We came here for my son's 11th bday dinner because he wanted a buffet. We are from out of town so we stopped by this place because we had passed it earlier. The fried meats and sauce (ex: Gen Tso, honey chicken, etc) is most breading and fat. The noodles were hard. The sushi was hit or miss with the smell (the salmon that was just put out made my husband lose his appetite). The ribs tasted like they had marinara sauce. Weird. The fried rice was bland...you get the picture. Every plate we got (3 plates per person and we were a family of 4) was picked at and left full. Also the cooks wear flip flops. HEALTH CODE VIOLATION. In the mood for Chinese and figured I would try a buffet. Upon arrival the front door was open and the AC was off. Not a good start. Buffet was full of seafood that looked delicious but as a non seafood eater wasn't what I was looking for. Most of the Chinese Food was half to quarter full and looked like it had been sitting for quite a while. Restaurant had about 8 tables working and most everyone was eating the seafood. BEST DIET PLACE ON 98 This place is better than weight watchers. My wife and I have been to this place several years ago and it was find. Wednesday we went again and it seem like it was okay. The bake fish was over seasoned. When I woke up Thursday morning I felt hungry and weak which I should not have been feeling that way. By 7 am I knew I was going to get sick. The sound of rumble was coming from by stomach. By 8:30 am it was in full motion. It stayed that way until Friday morning at 4:30. Even now at 7:30 am Friday morning I am still not over the bad food that I ate there. The best part I guess is that I lost six pounds. Weight watchers can't match that performance. I have lived in Asian countries for 9 yrs of my life and my wife has worked in the restaurant industry. This buffet was as good, or better, than any other Chinese buffet we have visited. The food was fresh from the salad bar, fruits, sushi, and entrees, to the ice cream not tasting like a freezer. You could tell what everything was.
