Everything we tried was cold and very bland, tried to talk to the manager and he acted like he couldn't understand English. When I asked about getting a discount maybe or something he told me there's nothing he could do. I responded I'll let people know how nasty the food was he all the sudden understood English and told me bullsh@t and get out. I would not recommend this place to a homeless person. Very poor service, very nasty food! read more

If I was ever told the food would be sub-par, I'd say, "No way!!" The hot entrés (spare ribs, egg rolls, fried rice, lo mein, chicken dishes, etc.) were all luke-warm; and the "hot" tea was weak, without flavor and/or body. When I told management, they didn't care and/or offer an apology. My impression: bill paid - next customer, please. read more

Their fried rice tastes like what my mom used to make. My mom is Japanese and their food was clean and good. Sushi was excellent and fresh...love this place!!! read more

Went there again on annual visit to Surprise. Really good food! Well cooked, excellent selection and great price! I don't understand why this buffet isn't rated much higher. read more

All you can eat. Surprisingly great tasting food for the price. We're in the desert and this place beats some of the more expensive buffets in SoCal. Not for you if you expect phenomenal service and excellent tasting food for only $15/person LMFAO read more

Every dish was full and fresh. The service was on point and even though we dined from 3:15-4:15( 15 minutes into dinner $$) the price was worth it all read more

Good China Buffet with excellent choices. Great cooks and waitress staff. It's an awesome place to eat!!!

Way overpriced. Almost $80 for a family of 4. Sushi is not fresh and looks like it had been sitting out for days. In fact, there was a guy making more sushi 15 minutes before they were to close for the night, while the restaurant was pretty empty -- Obviously to save for the next day. The peel/eat shrimp is not deveined, so unless you like to eat shrimp poop, I would avoid it. They couldn't tell us which items had nuts in them (they said "We don't know, maybe the gravy"), so my wife and daughter with nut allergies had to take chances with what they chose to eat. There were no crab legs out, but they advertised them anyway. read more

NASTY. Had to go into the restroom before eating dinner. Could NOT believe how FILTHY the restroom was!!!!! Black toilets, paper towels all over the floor. Floor wasn't mopped. Can't imagine how it's like in the kitchen and how they handle food if the restroom is this filthy! Found a hair in our food. Couldn't eat anymore and left. read more

if you think about coming here and eating, think again. this place is disgusting for what they just did. I came here to just eat and chill. I decided I wanted some bananas i picked them but didn't really look in the middle of it. I ate 1 banana whole and then I started to cut up the next one and found that in the middle of it. which is "FUNGUS" I immediately ask for help and to speak to the manger. The manger didn't even apologize for the fact that we just ate FUNGUS. he then proceed to say. "Im not giving you guys a free meal I can only give you guys 7 dollars off." if I were you guys don't even bother coming here. read more

My wife and I have been popping in here occasionally for the past 15 years or so, and we've always been satisfied. It's a good feed, with good variety, at a fair price. They offer a couple of dishes that I've rarely seen anywhere else, such as the black pepper chicken and the Peking chicken (don't forget the hoisin sauce like I did). I don't know what the seafood is in the seafood and cheese casserole, but it's large chunks reminiscent of crab and I really like it. I'm not particularly a shrimp aficionado, but I will never pass by their walnut shrimp. For families with picky kids who wouldn't touch exotic food for a bribe, there are even pizza slices. Neither of us is a sushi lover, so we can't rate any of that. But new this visit (at least to us) were cold jalapeño poppers, which were quite tasty. Tonight, the trays were kept well filled and at a good temperature (except for the broccoli beef, which my wife found tepid). They offer a pretty comprehensive dessert bar, including dainty and robust cakes, macaroons, profiteroles (my favorite), cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, and a soft serve ice cream bar with lots of toppings. And if you'd rather, you can walk across the room to the salad bar and pick up some tapioca or chocolate pudding instead. The wait staff is practically aggressive in ensuring that your drinks never get empty. On a Saturday night, at senior pricing, we got out for $35, including tip. read more

The buffet is really good. They keep it well stocked and it is a very clean facility. Prices are very good. It also can hold many people. read more

I normally don't like to write bad reviews for any restaurant but if I had the option to give China Buffet a 0, I totally would!! This review is based on horrible customer service! My 1st (and last impression) here is that their staff is impolite and have absolutely no manners when it comes to showing respect to their guests. I was craving egg drop soup and I ordered a large serving from China Buffet using doordash. 10 minutes after placing this order I found out that it was canceled without my knowledge. Then I received a phone call by a lady saying she canceled my order because it wasn't meeting minimum requirements of $15. BUT before I could add another item she hung up!!! I mean seriously? How rude!!!!!!!! I really wanted the egg drop soup I would have happily ordered a couple more items if she had asked politely .... but she didn't thus, I will never order anything from here again. read more

FOUND BONES IN SAMON- I took a bite of samon and got stabbed in my mouth by two bone shards, I then told the lady in the front and she took them to the back and nothing else happened. As I then found another bone I made sure to take a picture this time and ask to speak to a manager. He didn't apologize and just said "it happens"... This place has terrible attitude and customer service. Food is cheap and makes your stomach hurt.. also very dirty and no precautions for COVID. Spending that much for crappy food.. not worth it the cooks don't even wear gloves.. literally see them come to put food out and they touch everything on the way with no gloves. Learned my lesson, just don't go. read more

Service was okay, I don't have high expectations for a buffet. Good honestly was one of the lesser qualities. The sushi included no sashimi or nigiri. All the rolls were basically a cali roll with either avocado or shrimp on it. The hot food didn't include any actual Asian foods that aren't broccoli beef, orange chicken or the other basic few. The dim sum was minimal and the dessert was subpar at best. The chowmein and rice were flavorless and they didn't have a lot for the price of $14. I wouldn't pay more than $10. Take the trip to Phoenix, pay a little extra and really get your money's worth. I won't be back:/ read more

Last night I tried this buffet and found it to be far less than adequate. I sampled a large number of the main dishes and they all had been sitting too long, and should have been replaced. Not one dish was worthy of a return visit. The only thing that I enjoyed was the Cucumber/tomato salad, Egg Drop soup, soft serve ice cream, and watermelon. I didn't sample the Sushi bar so I can't comment on it. I won't be returning. read more

Disgusting! Worse $91 I ever spent! 3 adults, 2 kids and 1 toddler. They charged me $8.99 for my 3 years old. We should've walked out when we saw the food. They service was ok. The ambiance is old, dingy and dirty. The restrooms had mold. This place needs to be shut down. Disgusting is all I can say. read more

Wow. Just wow. This place a literal definition of hole in the wall. It was completely disgusting. I paid $111 for 5 people.. online, and even on there door before you walk in it says they take apple pay.. apparently there apple pay system was down so how else was I supposed to pay for my meal. Girl at the check out counter in the front basically told me to F off after I told her I had no other way of paying. Military discount was a complete joke $1.22 taken off my bill for military. Food was soggy, over cooked, old, and even cold. I would have rather gone to McDonald's then eat here ever again. Paid $3 for each of my drinks and got maybe 2 refills because the service was so awful. Please don't waste your money here. Go buy a meal from somewhere else this is a warning. read more

Love the food lots of different varieties service is so so, but I definitely go back there

Terrible. Never changed. Just added. Tables too small. Guess they don't want you to repeat.

Nice variety of items and hot food was hot and cool things were on ice. Food items were all labeled and staff was replenishing them regularly. Servers were attentive about refilling beverages, clearing used dishes, and bringing more napkins as needed. Quiet enough atmosphere that it was wasy to have conversations in a normal tone of voice. Local newspapers often have a 15% off coupon or regular 10% off for seniors. We will be back. read more

Food is always sooo good, sushi is always fresh and delicious, the employees are really sweet, some people in these reviews don't understand the language barrier and think the employees are rude but never in my 10+ years of eating here have I ever had an issue or witnessed an altercation. The cooks I come across are all extremely nice, don't let these bad reviews stray you away from trying this place. The price is worth it! read more

I haven't been here in years as I'm early in this neighborhood , but I stopped in yesterday at 11am just after they opened and it was fresh, delicious with many options. It was clean. I remember enjoying it before and I'm glad it is still the same! I don't understand the harsh reviews. I will Definatly be back whenever I'm in the area! Keep up the good effort! read more

Do not be influenced by other reviews as we ate there last night and the food was fresh with lots of selection and tasty. They have good covid protocol the sushi was wonderful. I recommend this buffet read more

No bugs, good food, my first watermelon was surprisingly sweet and my second watermelon was surprisingly bland but I had figured out that a bit of salt on bland watermelon makes it surprisingly sweet. Windows were also dirty, they added a lot of spices on the noddles and it tasted weird. They also riased the prices on mothers day. A surprisingly weird buffet read more

Sad - this place has gone down - food was not even remotely edible - service marginal - the word 'sushi' should be stricken down - obviously the Chinese don't know real sushi - the women's bathroom was filthy/disgusting! Anyone wanting to go to or go back obviously doesn't know what good food is!!! read more

"Clean restrooms. Waiter cleared table and brought me water. Decent price. Over 70 food entries. A couple of dishes I stopped eating.

Zero Stars to this buffet today 02/15/24 the sushi bar rep was extremely rude. He should be fired. Yelling at me causing a scene. I took a sushi from the plate yelled at me said I ruined his plater roll. I thought this was a buffet we eat what we want we eat how we want its a buffet right??.. we paid for a buffet plater.. this place has no customer service. I told the sushi worker not to talk to me like that don't yell at me. I reported it to the host guy. Nothing was done. He didn't care. Being abusive to the customers is very unprofessional. I deserve a refund. Nothing was done. Safe your money go somewhere else. Don't come here.Zero Stars to this buffet.. read more

I give a 3 because the food is always good but they never seem to put crab legs out. Fully open and stocked, traditional Chinese food buffet. I felt very comfortable with the cleanliness and the food quality was excellent. Tables are still a little close together, but then, it's a busy restaurant. I'll be back again. Best Asian food buffet I've found in the Surprise area. read more

I had food poisoning 3 hours later. Food was served cold and not cooked sufficiently. I should have followed my first instincts and left.

Amazing food i recommend best coconut shrimp ever wish they had fries during dinner time as well.

The food is awful taste terrible there's like two things here that are decent don't eat here especially for $17 a person waist of money

I love this place. They have such a variety of food. All the food is fresh and they have a sushi chef.

I ate here for lunch with my parents. They have a vast selection of typical Chinese culinary comestibles. They had an excellent sushi bar full of different versions of California rolls. Every one fresh and flavorful. The spicy chicken was delicious and their vegetation was all fresh. Their egg foo yong is the best that I have had in a Chinese restaurant for years. I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers were looking for. I don't typically go to buffets seeking service. But the employees were pleasant and friendly, seating us and attending to dirty dishes at our table which they promptly removed. As for the other reviewer indicating that all they have is chicken, I think they may have gotten stuck on only one of the eight islands. This is not a gourmet restaurant, but then again, I wasn't seeking gourmet. But for a Chinese buffet, I thought they were exceptional. I will definitely return here and would highly recommend this establishment. read more
