Last night I tried this buffet and found it to be far less than adequate. I sampled a large number of the main dishes and they all had been sitting too long, and should have been replaced. Not one dish was worthy of a return visit. The only thing that I enjoyed was the Cucumber/tomato salad, Egg Drop soup, soft serve ice cream, and watermelon. Way overpriced. Almost $80 for a family of 4. Sushi is not fresh and looks like it had been sitting out for days. In fact, there was a guy making more sushi 15 minutes before they were to close for the night, while the restaurant was pretty empty -- Obviously to save for the next day. The peel/eat shrimp is not deveined, so unless you like to eat shrimp poop, I would avoid it. They couldn't tell us which items had nuts in them (they said "We don't know, maybe the gravy"), so my wife and daughter with nut allergies had to take chances with what they chose to eat. My wife and I have been popping in here occasionally for the past 15 years or so, and we've always been satisfied. It's a good feed, with good variety, at a fair price. They offer a couple of dishes that I've rarely seen anywhere else, such as the black pepper chicken and the Peking chicken (don't forget the hoisin sauce like I did). I don't know what the seafood is in the seafood and cheese casserole, but it's large chunks reminiscent of crab and I really like it. I'm not particularly a shrimp aficionado, but I will never pass by their walnut shrimp. For families with picky kids who wouldn't touch exotic food for a bribe, there are even pizza slices. Neither of us is a sushi lover, so we can't rate any of that. But new this visit (at least to us) were cold jalapeño poppers, which were quite tasty. Tonight, the trays were kept well filled and at a good temperature (except for the broccoli beef, which my wife found tepid). They offer a pretty comprehensive dessert bar, including dainty and robust cakes, macaroons, profiteroles (my favorite), cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, and a soft serve ice cream bar with lots of toppings. And if you'd rather, you can walk across the room to the salad bar and pick up some tapioca or chocolate pudding instead. Service was okay, I don't have high expectations for a buffet. Good honestly was one of the lesser qualities. The sushi included no sashimi or nigiri. All the rolls were basically a cali roll with either avocado or shrimp on it. The hot food didn't include any actual Asian foods that aren't broccoli beef, orange chicken or the other basic few. The dim sum was minimal and the dessert was subpar at best. The chowmein and rice were flavorless and they didn't have a lot for the price of $14. I wouldn't pay more than $10. Disgusting! Worse $91 I ever spent! 3 adults, 2 kids and 1 toddler. They charged me $8.99 for my 3 years old. We should've walked out when we saw the food. They service was ok. I was craving egg drop soup and I ordered a large serving from China Buffet using doordash. 10 minutes after placing this order I found out that it was canceled without my knowledge. Then I received a phone call by a lady saying she canceled my order because it wasn't meeting minimum requirements of $15. BUT before I could add another item she hung up!!! I mean seriously? How rude!!!!!!!! Wow. Just wow. This place a literal definition of hole in the wall. It was completely disgusting. I paid $111 for 5 people.. online, and even on there door before you walk in it says they take apple pay.. apparently there apple pay system was down so how else was I supposed to pay for my meal. Girl at the check out counter in the front basically told me to F off after I told her I had no other way of paying. Military discount was a complete joke $1.22 taken off my bill for military. Food was soggy, over cooked, old, and even cold. I would have rather gone to McDonald's then eat here ever again. FOUND BONES IN SAMON- I took a bite of samon and got stabbed in my mouth by two bone shards, I then told the lady in the front and she took them to the back and nothing else happened. As I then found another bone I made sure to take a picture this time and ask to speak to a manager. He didn't apologize and just said "it happens"... This place has terrible attitude and customer service. Food is cheap and makes your stomach hurt.. also very dirty and no precautions for COVID. Spending that much for crappy food.. not worth it the cooks don't even wear gloves.. literally see them come to put food out and they touch everything on the way with no gloves. Nice variety of items and hot food was hot and cool things were on ice. Food items were all labeled and staff was replenishing them regularly. Servers were attentive about refilling beverages, clearing used dishes, and bringing more napkins as needed. Quiet enough atmosphere that it was wasy to have conversations in a normal tone of voice. Local newspapers often have a 15% off coupon or regular 10% off for seniors. We will be back. read more

I haven't been here in years as I'm early in this neighborhood , but I stopped in yesterday at 11am just after they opened and it was fresh, delicious with many options. It was clean. No bugs, good food, my first watermelon was surprisingly sweet and my second watermelon was surprisingly bland but I had figured out that a bit of salt on bland watermelon makes it surprisingly sweet. I have been craving good Chinese food since moving to Surprise...great news, I discovered who does not have it. The food here was inedible. I tried a variety of items ranging from appetizers, entrees and dessert. The only item I could stomach was the soup. Everything else was flavorless, overcooked and honestly, terrible. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I didn't like the style, I'm saying the food was horrible. in addition, while the restaurant isn't dirty, it certainly is dingy and made me feel like I was eating in someone's 1970s style basement. Seriously, the worst Chinese food I've eaten anywhere. The staff was not welcoming, nor consistent in service. I don't know how long it has been open, but it's needing to either circle the wagons and upgrade the quality or just hang it up. I ate here for lunch with my parents. They have a vast selection of typical Chinese culinary comestibles. They had an excellent sushi bar full of different versions of California rolls. Every one fresh and flavorful. The spicy chicken was delicious and their vegetation was all fresh. Their egg foo yong is the best that I have had in a Chinese restaurant for years. I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers were looking for. I don't typically go to buffets seeking service. But the employees were pleasant and friendly, seating us and attending to dirty dishes at our table which they promptly removed. As for the other reviewer indicating that all they have is chicken, I think they may have gotten stuck on only one of the eight islands. This is not a gourmet restaurant, but then again, I wasn't seeking gourmet. But for a Chinese buffet, I thought they were exceptional. This is a filthy food establishment. I always judge a place by the restroom. The bathroom is dirty. They do not clean it good. There is black scum on the ground. The toilets are filthy. They need to hire a great maid to help them get it back together. Secondly, the chairs are dirty. Every single chair back has grease on it and scum. They need a deep cleaning. The food wasn't though. I was just discussed by the bathroom. I went to the bathroom before eating. The customer service is also bad. So I just picked up my food from Chinese Buffet and had a VERY rude manager. He literally wouldn't give me my order because I asked him for duck sauce. I'm like "May I have some duck sauce I don't mind to even pay for it it's whatever.
