If I could put a negative 5 Stars I would...but I'm forced only to select 1 Star. Stay away from Chili's in Simi Valley! If you want your food served cold...this is your place to be...just not for me! My GF ordered a bowl of Chicken Tortilla Soup. It came out cold. I asked if they could reheat in the microwave. Instead they brought out another bowl. Guess what? Soup was COLD AGAIN! Decided it's not worth a third attempt. I even told my GF that you just wait. I bet you that the French Fries will come out cold too. Guess what? I must psychic! Her Fries came out cold. Better still...my Mashed Potatoes came out cold. Even more better still...my Salmon came out cold. Is there any cooked food that they serve will come out hot? I would have to say not! Is it me or are there other people out there that have a problem with this? Or do people just don't mind eating cold food? I've noticed a surge in restaurants having poor service, poor food quality as well as food being served cold in many restaurants...especially in Simi Valley. My daughter, her friends and I went to Chili's last night for Father's Day. Our server and service was great and I took advantage of the 3 for Me Top Sirloin dinner with two sides, appetizer and beverage for $16.99. The meal was a great value - the 6 oz. top sirloin was juicy, full of flavor and cooked exactly to medium rare, per request. The included loaded mashed potatoes were excellent potato-ey goodness. Nothing wrong with the steamed broccoli either - pefectly cooked with a little crunch to each bite. I upcharged $3.99 for a Margarita and it went down well. The only bummer was my starter - a bowl of their famous chili. I might have well have eaten a salt lick. The very dark, meaty chili was way too salty to consume. The server took it back for a caesar salad, which was fine. All told, this and all of their 3 for Me meals are great value for the price. For the steak dinner, I wish they would offer an upcharge to the 10 oz. steak they offer on regular menu since the 6 oz. is a bit small for dedicated carnivores. We'll be back for sure. read more

Came here for dinner the other night with the hubs and had a pretty good experience overall. Got seated less than waiting 5 minutes and waited a bit more for our waitress to come. The waitress was sweet and had a lot of energy. We ordered the classic nachos to start with and i ordered the ancho salmon with double order of broccoli, the hubs ordered grassfed bacon burger topped with a fried egg. The presentation of my salmon wasn't the same as the picture on the menu, but was tasty and the broccoli a bit overcooked. Overall the food was pretty good. read more

Always good food but you have to watch the calories. I ordered the chicken protein plate with salsa, beans, rice and tortilla strips which comes just under 500 calories and gives you the right amount of carbs for your day. Being a fan of Chili's, I have to say that I'm kind of disappointed that they don't offer free wifi. They do have those annoying table tablets so you can pay on your own if you can ever figure those damn things out. We just gave our cards to the server for checkout. read more

Went here tonight with my family, first time at chilis since becoming a vegetarian. Hardly any vegetarian options, so I got the side of mac and cheese. I used to go here a lot, but since giving up meat, hadn't been in a while, since I felt very stifled by their menu. They have improved the menu and there were more options now. That's good. When we walked in they said it would be 5-10 minutes. It was about 20. Irritating. I wish they would have an accurate time. Apparently we could have added our name to the list via yelp. We have been visiting this Chili's for several years now. It is usually hit or miss. The food is always good. It is the service that is sometimes lacking. We had not been here in a couple of years and decided to give it another try. The restaurant has been totally renovated inside and looks very nice. It has a more sleek and stylized look to it now. They also have little computers on the table from which you can order desserts or pay your bill. You can also play games, but BEWARE because it costs 99 cents and nowhere does it state that clearly. The menu has been updated and there are plenty of different food items to choose from. I think even the pickiest eaters can find something to eat. I really enjoy Triple Dipper appetizer. This way you can try a variety of items. We really like the Boneless Buffalo Wings and the Southwestern egg rolls. The burgers are also very good. On our most recent visit, I tried the Caribbean Salad with shrimp added on. It was very tasty. The salad portion is just enough and they did no skimp on the shrimp. On our most recent visit, I have to say that the service was definitely lacking on this day. Our server was doing several things at once and taking care of several tables. He confused our order with the table next to us and was slow to refill our drinks, waiting until we were halfway done with our meal to do so. He also misunderstood when we said we were ready for our check, thinking we were going to use the self service computer. We were pretty clear that we were waiting for our check but he wasn't listening. The restaurant was clean and well kept. I really do like the remodel. It looks very nice now. There is plenty of parking but due to sharing the parking lot with Costco, it can get pretty busy at times. We will probably be back. I would really like to try some of the new menu items. Normally, I don't have an issue with my to-go orders. However, many months ago, as I sat in my car waiting for curb side, I witnessed a couple run out with someone else's food. It was blatantly obvious by the way he ran to his car and took off faster than I had seen anyone before. Today, I was a victim of such activity. We placed our order to be delivered. It was taking longer than quoted, so we checked our email and could see our driver was at Chili's. Not long afterward, we got a notification that our order could not be delivered. We called Chili's to find out what happened. Apparently, someone else went in and took our food... $70 worth of food. Chili's claims "no responsibility for the order once it leaves the store". Well, how about taking responsibility when it is there!?! Clearly, their pick-up system is flawed and the crooks know about it. Chili's should verify when a person comes in to pick up food that it matches the order. Or how about not having it out for anyone to take!!! The to-go person at Chili's offered no apology or responsibility. Think twice people before placing a to-go order with Chili's. You might not get it, they won't remake it and they definitely refund your money either. I feel bad for the driver who wasted their time and lost out on their tip. read more

I'm very surprised to be giving this place a four star review. I am known to not like chain restaurants. I prefer to have a menu designed locally with food sourced at least fairly locally, not from 2,500 miles away. But there is a lot of appeal to most of these places. I had been to this Chili's once before and remember enjoying the meal. This meal was really great. I had spicy shrimp tacos which were excellent and SPICY! My dining companions each ordered something different and everyone said they enjoyed their meal. As I get older, I'm finding myself softening my stance against corporate restaurants such as this. I'm surprised that this place does not have 5 stars. We have been eating here for years and we have always had stellar service. Love that drinks are refilled before you even finish your current one. All servers are very friendly and courteous. There is almost always no wait, food is great and prices are reasonable. We were just there tonight and our server Tanner was the best! I love this place so much that it's always our go-to on a Friday night when I'm too tired to cook! I pulled them up on Yelp to go on a waitlist and my son made a comment, "shouldn't they have a lot more stars!?" So I had to leave a comment because I love my Chili's Simi Valley! After almost swapping paint (or worse), with a twin-engine today, decided i needed to go out and enjoy myself of a couple of things i'd held off on. Had a beer after work and tried to get my mind off it. After i got home and kissed the wife, went and had a steak & a nice baked potato from Chili's. Luckily, this place doesn't disappoint. Their food preparation is pretty consistent. Service can be hit-and-miss depending on location, timing, crew and other variables, but so far, the Simi Valley Chili's has always delivered. Came in for a quick lunch while running errands. Had to wait a few minutes even though there were lots of open tables but I didn't mind because we weren't in a hurry. Our waitress was courteous and punctual with our drinks and back to get our lunch order. We split the Quesadilla Explosion Salad and it was amazing. It comes with 4 pieces of a cheese quesadilla and the dressing the use is a balsamic base and is mouth watering. It is topped with grilled chicken and was very moist. This is one of my favorite dishes here and it has never let me down. I give them extra kudos for getting us in and out in a quick turn around because we have an 8 month old and he only can last so long. Dinner for 2 is a great deal. 2 people, 2 entrees, 1 appraiser, 20 dollars. It's hard to really beat that if you're on a budget and looking for a sit down place that is reliable in its slightly above average dishes. I personally love the chicken crisper. The original ones that are beer battered. It brings out my inner child, and it's definitely a guilty pleasure. The up side to this is that you do not get child proportions, but a hearty 5-ish strips. It's hard to find a place that really gives you that much chicken. I am also kind of in love with their chipotle honey sauce. I can practically drink it. My sister, nieces and I arrived around 2PM for a late lunch. As we walked in, there was no one there to greet us. Servers walked through the bar, up and down the sections on each side of the restaurant and no one bothered to look at the wait area. The host was no where to be found. After waiting for about five minutes, the host greeted us and told us that the wait would be about five to seven minutes. There was NO REASON why we should have had to wait. The reason I know is because the server walked up to him and told him, after about four minutes, that she had a table available. As we were taken to our table, we walked past SEVERAL dirty tables. When I went to the restroom located on the other side of the restaurant, I walked past SEVERAL more dirty tables. It was GROSS. The was no sense of urgency. Servers didn't even slightly make an attempt to pre-bus. I really like Chili's. It makes me sad to see the brand represented this way. My sister ordered the Cajun chicken Pasta, the girls ordered Macaroni and cheese. I ordered the 6oz steak as part of the 2 for $22. The girls KRAFT-like macaroni and cheese came out slightly warm and had to be sent back to be heated up. We added queso to our order and it was, as always, delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly and the broccoli was good too. I am not a fan of the loaded mashed potatoes. (Too much salt) I am asking the corporate office to pay attention to these reviews and fix the problem before we lose Chili's for good. read more

Horrible, god awful service and a rude waitress as well. Not even a smile from her or a pleasant attitude. We were seated at 6:50 pm and were still waiting to order by 7:15 pm. She managed to take care of ALL the other tables who had just been seated, but completely ignored us like we had some sort of cloak of invisibility on. When she FINALLY came over to take our order, she copped an attitude and asked if we were ready to order. By this point, I'm biting my tongue so I don't embarrass my husband and daughter...but c'mon! You can't even be a little friendly to us?! No refills on our drinks or anything either. I was thisclose to calling the manager over, but really...what good would that have done? This is my first time ever coming to this Chili's and it sure is my last! The staff here is extremely rude and unfriendly. It took over 15 minutes for someone to come and order our drinks. After the long wait I come to find out they gave us the wrong drinks and had to wait another 10 minutes to get our correct drinks. We then proceed to order our food. Chili's supposedly specializes in Burgers but my Mushroom Swiss Burger tasted like boiled ground beef. Once I complained to Connor I was greeted with an attitude and he then asks "What am I supposed to about it? I'm not the Chef". I then proceed to ask for a Manager and he then says "He is the manager". I am completely dissatisfied with the service here and quality of food. I usually get to-go orders and pay cash. About a month ago on a busy Friday night I had a problem with my order, the avocado bacon chicken sandwich was tough and chewy. I called that night and spoke to Michael. He was very professional and understanding about the chicken sandwich being tough. I left my name on a list for a meal owed to me. About two to three weeks later I called and repeated the order. Michael helped me again and he remembered me and the first order. When I picked up order Michael said that they changed the way of cooking for the chicken sandwiches because of complaints. Obviously they did! The second time it was perfect. Michael was very professional and helpful and if I owned a restaurant I would want him running it! They will continue to get my business! read more

Went here for lunch today with my boyfriend. We got the 3 for $10 deal and the food was pleasant! Our server was not that friendly and made me feel uncomfortable. We asked for our drinks to go and she brought us kid sizes. But the table next to ya had adult size to go cups. And yes, she was their server too. It just didn't make sense to us. We did notice that she was treating the older customers there with more respect than us. I'm not sure if it had to do with our age but we deserve the same respect as anyone since we are paying customers. I have been to this location before and I never seen her here. As someone who is a truly die hard lover of this relatively affordable American dine in restaurant I can honestly say that this location has some of the most distasteful and inadequate service. I have actually never took the care to write a negative service review since I myself have worked in the customer service careers for years ongoing as a young teen to a young adult. But this particular location of the chili's chain is just honest to god the worst serviced I've ever been to. As someone who grew up in the metropolitan area of Los Angeles I can safely say that I've been to just about every chili's available in the SoCal area. But given the location being in a safe small town of Ventura county it truly shocked me from the lack of care , and lack of common efficiency needed from the staff at this location. I've been to several times and have always had the same treatment from a particular Caucasian young male waiter who has never ceases to amaze me from his lack of skills and lack of sense as a crucial role of the restaurant food chain. The food as well isn't the best prepped or followed as it should be by their given criteria and is overall just terribly served and done to say the least. Despite the staff having a lack of common decency and lack of needed social skills in order to have good service I've tried my best to resist away from bringing this negativity to them. But after their male waiter decided to ignore my whole family on a slow day and act with such rudeness towards us for no apparent reason that was simply when I decided to make the service aware to the public. If you can avoid this location please for your own sake and whoever else you bring along with you for a wanted quality well done meal go to the one in Thousand Oaks which is nearby this location or the Northridge one in the S.F. Valley. Do not waste a single minute on this place if you can bear to because no one deserves cold not fully cooked food along with terrible serves and waitresses and staff with every possible lack of skill. read more
