I have never really had a huge problem with this place to not give them four stars. I have had a couple minor issues but nothing too serious. Some of the servers are not great, but I have had a good handful of them who are very great and attend to all my needs. The food is great for the prices they have. I usually get the 2 for 20 deal. The chips and salsa are my favorite chips in salsa in Simi! They have cold mugs for beer and excellent options in Margaritas! I enjoy the atmosphere, and love sitting in the bar. Stopped by for Valentine's Day dinner with my loved one. Obviously it was packed but the bussers and waiters handled it very well. The food came to us faster then usual and cooked to our liking like always. The margaritas are always the best and don't even get me started on the dessert. I regularly visit both this location and the one in Woodland Hills/West Hills, but this review is for my visit 3 hours ago. I am a member of their Rewards program; more on that later. I was in the mood for a Happy Hour Margarita with my Sunday lunch, so I got here just before Noon. The host was seating the couple who had arrived seconds before me, and the bar tender called to me and asked if i'd like to be seated in her section. She took my drink order (water) and since I began looking at the menu at the table, I gave her my order when she brought it, along with my REAL drink order. Margarita on the rocks, salted rim: Excellent. I had ordered the Sweet and Smoky Burger with extra pickles and Tabasco Sauce for the fries. Settling in to play a game on my phone, my lunch arrived in no time at all. At first sight, the burger is stacked high with the crispy onion rings, tomato and lettuce topping the cheese, and the bacon strips in an x cross extending well beyond the bun. Fries are in that stainless steel 'pencil box' lined with a paper sheet, aesthetically to match the height of the burger(?) or maybe just to look awesome. The burger appeared to be well done, with the cheese well mented, the bacon just less than crispy and the tomato and lettuce still crisp. The taste was very good+, and in spite of the well done center, it still had enough escaping juices to make it a 2 napkin burger. (Actually a 3 napkin burger, since the napkins are flimsy.) I have never been a fan of Chilis fries, but with a dash of Tabasco and a few bites of pickle slices they were a tasty compliment to the burger. (( Hint to Chilis: Ask for 'Better Fries' from Corporate. I know that you can only prepare & serve what they give you.)) Logging into the on-table Kiosk, I got credit for my meal on their Rewards network (not enough for anything FREE this meal.) I also viewed my point balance, saw my meal and bar total and could pay the check. Since i pay cash, I simply handed over the requisite amount with tip and went on to the rest of my day. I gave them my email, and it seems nearly every week they offer a promotion to "take my point balance to the next level." The "sizzling" fajitas were cold upon arriving to table and were so salty hard to eat. The only bright side to our experience was they took off one item that we did eat and another item we never received. This place is alright if you are going for a quick meal for relatively cheap prices. It seems to usually take a good while for the food to get to your table, and the food isn't outstanding, but I still go there quite frequently with family and friends because the food is still pretty good. Today was one of the best services that I've been given in Chili's. Although the service was a bit slow, it was worth waiting for :) The appetizers and the dishes were with quality and amazing taste! We ordered the Mango Chili Chicken, Chicken Cajun Pasta, fresh tortilla chips (appetizer), and cheese and jalapeño fries (appetizer). The tortilla chips were freshly baked, and the guacamole and salsa were amazing! The Cajun Pasta was great, but the garlic toast was overcooked. Ordered the boneless wings, during the course of my meal noticed a bloody center in on of the wings, i of course didn't finish it and brought it to the attention of our server sheryl. She had the meal comped half off, which i didn't ask for but was grateful. Then a friend asked if there was a military discount and she got all flustered and said yes I'll comp all your checks. I had an issue with the electronic payment which ended up running my card for the wrong meal, which of course was an annoyance to sheryl who seemed like i was peeing in her cheerios because she had to get the manager to correct the check. Then the military discount was removed, i asked if that was by mistake and she says you want both, i said well yeah being i didn't ask but appreciate half off for a bloody chicken nugget. Then i get my check back and the military discount is only .71 cents... i ask about it and she replys with an attitude its only 10 percent! ... um sheryl 10 percent of 15 dollars isn't 71 cents but whatever don't get all flustered, heres my payment have a nice day and sorry for the trouble. Not sure if our waiter was new which would be understandable as I've been in the sane shoes but it seems that all the workers here were not very good with customer service. The first time I went here, the service was also poor and the food was meh. This time the waiter was very slow despite barely anyone being in the restaurant and the manager didn't seem to care. We haven't been to Chili's in awhile, was really disappointed. First to say the floors were gross like they haven't swept in days and the tables weren't even picked up. The service was horrible, my husband got a drink and it took forever to bring our drinks. Only star was for the food, the food was amazing. My husband did order another drink and he did not get that drink until after he was done with his dinner. He was really upset due to my husband being a bartender he knows customer service very well. Waited over five minutes to be greeted by a hostess. We had a large group of people and due to the design of the restaurant, they had no room. We ended up splitting up our group between booths. In my opinion, the bar takes up too much room to be accommodating to larger groups. The place needs a remodel, big time. Thank goodness the food is good and their only competition (Fridays) is on the other side of town, and they have much more room. In hindsight, we should have gone there. Chili's is a pretty decent place to grab a bite to eat, however, it is nothing that will really knock your socks off. This is your typical sports bar/restaurant much like a TGI Friday's or a BJ's. My wife and I stopped in this evening for dinner since we were in the immediate area and we weren't really sure what we felt like having for dinner. The good thing about Chili's is that they offer a pretty wide variety of food. My wife had the Mango-Chili Tilapia and I had the Bacon-Ranch Chicken Quesadilla. I tried their blackberry iced tea for the first time. The iced tea tastes good but it is your standard squirt of syrup with regular iced tea and you have to mix it yourself before you take your first sip through your straw. The quesadilla is really good size. I have not been able to eat an entire one by myself yet. The wife enjoyed her tilapia, so overall, it was a decent experience. read more

Chili's is a perfect example of a good suburban eatery. Its really too bad that there's not more of them deeper in the city. Chili's is a good all around burger and everything else place. They serve great burgers with the option of having a "black bean patty" subbed for the beef. Note: I eat meat and am proud of it! But this bean patty substitute is definitely something to talk about! Its slightly spicy and goes well with any burger selection! It has a similiar texture to the beef and, as far as I'm concerned is much better tasting than the beef. Everyone who's tried it has been satisfied! Chili's has great seasoned fries, really good service, hefeweizen on tap, which is a big plus, and a good atmosphere. It can get busy on friday and saturday evenings so prepare to wait or just find first-come-first-serve seating in the bar. By the way, the rest of their menu is really good. Don't aggravate yourself. Management really needs an overhaul or completely replaced. Only gave the 2 stars because or server was a very attentive and congenial young lady. She earned both all by herself. I practically lived on Boneless Buffalo chicken salad and this was my family's go-to place. It's gone WAY downhill. I now live in Fresno and loooove Fresno Chilis. First, restaurant on a busy Sunday Football afternoon. Hostess came out from her spot in the back of the bar where she was hanging out with four other staff members and told us it would be a 15-20 minute wait. But, that we could sit in the bar. I told her "we have young children." She responded "it's ok, they're allowed." Really? Baby in a bar. Ah, no. Management faux pas #1. I asked about the entirely empty side of the restaurant. She said "we closed that side early." Whaaaat?!?!? It was about 2:00 on a football Sunday and the other side (non-view side) of the place was packed in like sardines. Management faux pas #2. The hostess disappeared again. She came back and immediately seated my family. Where was the wait? While they were being seated, I asked a server who came into the bar if we could still buy a $50 gift card with their $10 bonus. She asked the bartender and they sold me one. We sat down and ordered appetizers, margaritas, meals, and dessert. We were there for quite a while and ran up a nice bill. Now that I remember, the family across from us left and no one busses their table or cleared out plates. We had to put our dirty plates on the forgotten dirty dish table to make room for the next course. A couple hours later, when we were ready to leave, I handed the nice server my gift card and credit card. She came back to say the gift card didn't go through. She brought back an unkempt, very tall, very abrupt man dressed in a depressing gray outfit. He came back with a refund for my gift card (didn't ask for it to be refunded) and only said "here's your refund, we'll need the $10 bonus gift card back." Excuse me? Management faux pas #3. I said "that's not what I want." He said "we can't get around the 4 hour wait period." And i told him the young lady who sold me the card and the bartender failed to make mention of that policy. Management faux pas #4. I said "try harder." And my family offered to leave me there for the last hour that would make it 4 hours. He never returned. Management faux pas #5. After family took the youngest member out to play outside (still waiting) the "manager" came to the table. She was also dressed in the unkempt, wrinkled, tired gray color and looked as if she had been put through the wringer. Her hair was a fright. Even of she had worked 5 hours, she could've checked her pony tail in a mirror. I really thought someone was punking me and had been sending out the cleaning people instead of management to see what I'd do. Management faux pas #6 She had no idea what was going on. She asked me if I got my credit card back. Whaaaat?!?!! When I told her none of the four employees in the bar when I bought the card told me about the 4 hour policy, her response was "that's a training opportunity." I told her that didn't help me. Management faux pas #7. I told her to check with her staff, gave her the $10 "bonus card" back and waited. Again. The server came by and asked "has anyone spoken with you?" Bruh. Management faux pas #8. I paid my bill and went to the ladies room. On the way out, I saw the manager in the crowded bar, hanging out with some guy at a table, chatting. I asked the new person at the hostess stand who that lady was. She said "the manager." She still looked less put-together than our server. Management faux pas #9. So, eating at a restaurant for ten years and going back when in town with fsmily who eat there often did not even warrant an offer of a comped drink, dessert, or even a discount. In fact, one man did his best to try and shame me about the discount card. Really? Do you get snotty about Groupons, too? Oh, and my niece didn't tell me she had bad service the last time she took her family here because she wanted "to give them a chance." My family are in sales. Happy customers are repeat business. As for me and my family, we will find another place for molten lava cake and save Chilis' visits for those restaurants that value our business, treat us politely, dress as if they are at work, and don't try to shame customers, like the Chilis in Fresno on 1st. read more

Came here for dinner Sunday evening around six. They were rather busy but we were seated promptly. Table for six a little small and crowded. This place is a little noisy, they could use some sound buffering. That being said, our waiter arrived quickly to get our drink requests. Very friendly guy, just a bit too quick because they were busy. We ordered and food came right away. Although it was good, the $3.99 side dinner salad not worth the price. How about a better choice of dressings guys, like a low cal or lite selection? I had the triple dip with southwestern egg rolls, onion rings and original chicken tenders. It was all very good! They only had half the restaurant open and even though half the place had tables open we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. 2.5 hours later we were finally done. This was after half the table was served 30 minutes before the other half. No one received refills. The waitress was no where to be found. We learned later that they had 3 people running the entire restaurant, including the bar which was packed. Oh, and we went to celebrate a birthday and the waitress tells us they are out of everything except chocolate cake and ice cream and it's been that way for a week. They were also out of menu items. She also told us working there is awful. Yea, no kidding! Awful management! Tried to take a girl out for date night, knowing it's Saturday thought hey it will be somewhat of a wait which it was 30 mins no big deal, well finally we were seated after being skipped originally then we sat their for 45 mins with never even getting my order taken for drinks. I asked the server after 20 mins for some help, said one second and never came back finally after 45 mins we decided we are done waiting because we are super hungry. I did not have a good experience here at all on 4/6/17. My husband, son and I were in Simi Valley and decided to stop at Chili's for lunch. Upon entering, there was much confusion with the hostess. One half of the restaurant was empty but she said the wait would be 15 min unless we wanted to squeeze ourselves into the tiny bar area. We opted to wait. We were seated in the "full" side of the restaurant. Our server appeared to be quite frazzled and irritable. The first issue was her spilling water all over our table while filling our glasses. We all grabbed our phones quickly to make sure they didn't get wet. She did not clean up the water. She laid a few napkins right in the middle of the spill and walked away. The food was mediocre. Several times we had to grab the attention of the busboy for more napkins, mustard etc. The last straw for us was when our server came back and while refilling our water & ice tea, she spilled water all over the table yet again. Come on!!! That is just so unacceptable. There are so many other restaurants near by, we will NEVER walk through the doors of this Chili's again....that is a guarantee! read more

Dinner took a little longer than expected so the server brought us free chips and salsa. That was a nice surprise and we ended up not minding about the wait for our dinner. If I could give this place a 0 I would. The hostest there today 2/28/16 at 1:30 is by far the rudest person I have ever seen work at a restaurant. We asked to be seated in the bar for happy hour. There were 6 of us and we said we could sit at 2 tables since they did not want to put 2 tables together. This girl gave us attitude. Then told us we could not have a high chair at the bar. We sat there for 30 mins waiting for a table to be cleaned then when I walked up to the table in the bar it had a high chair at it. Then a few other groups of people came in and told her we were before them and she told us they didn't have room for us and we could not be seated. I have never heard of 2 groups of 3 not being able to be seated. By far the worse experience. If you are not able to seat us in the bar then allow us to get happy hour in the main seating. read more

Okay, let me start by saying the food I ordered was great. My order was delivered promptly, and the overall service was good until the end of my visit. Upon finishing my meal and taking the last sips of my adult beverage I noticed a brown residue/flake at the bottom of my glass. I had already paid, and at this point was just trying to inform the server that the glass I had been drinking out of was dirty. Instead of offering a simple apology, I was told that I should have informed her of the residue sooner as if to imply that me, the customer has to check the sanitation level of dishes their food/drinks are served on or in. Since the ticket was already paid for, it should have been clear that I was just trying to point out a simple problem. Instead I left feeling sick and frustrated wondering if any of my other dishes were dirty. Seriously, these people are so stupid. I came here with my husband for lunch. It wasn't packed at all. We ordered their lunch combo of 2 soups BLT and a chicken salad. Our soups came out timely and then we waited and watched while other people that came after us were served. While we were waiting I noticed how disgustingly dirty their kitchen is. One of the waitresses was literally using her bare hands to scoop out the shredded cheese from the bin they keep it in into another container and there's chips and dirt all over the floor in there. I overheard their lady manager asking the cook if the BLT was made yet and he said no. Seriously how fucking hard is it to make a BLT. The ingredients are in the name and the chicken salad is not hard either. We finally just got up and left. Clean your fucking kitchen, maybe put up a door so we can't see how unsanitary you're handling our food and don't offer easy simple food if that's too hard for you to make. Visited today and it was the worst. The wait person informed us right off the bat, their first day. When asked what the differences were between the soups offered, the response was "one is salty and the other one is less salty". Then my husband asked what selection of salad dressings were available and the response was "I'm not sure". No attempt to find out just wanted us to know it was the first day. We ordered the simple chips and queso. After 15 minutes of watching other people being served we started to wonder if out appetiZer was ever gonna make it out. The wait person came over and said "I have no idea why they aren't getting the appetizer out". My husband proceeded to tell this person either take it off the bill or get the appetizer out immediately. The response was "do you want me to cancel the appetizer? I just don't know". Here's the deal, when I go to a restaurant on Friday evening I want value for my money. Chili's in Simi has darn good food, and I will give them 3 or 4 stars on their food, but when it comes to mixed drinks they get one star... if they're lucky. Point in fact, they charge a premium price for their mixed drinks, and I favor a well made Margarita, but what I get is a lemon-flavored drink in a fancy glass and upscale container, and this has happened to me more than once. This evening my wife and I thought we would give this joint yet another chance, and sure as the sky is blue my Maggie tasted like a lemonade more than an alcoholic beverage, and I paid a premium price for the disappointment. Never again will I order a mixed drink at this Chili's, I'm sure the bar staff has been told to short pour on the mixed drinks, so either I drink beer or wine but I will NOT order a mixed drink again. I wish I knew how to get around this obvious short pour mindset on mixed drinks, but since my wife likes the food at this joint I guess I'll just go with a glass of wine, which I might add comes in a small glass. Truth be known we're better off going to one of the two Chuy's in town, at least they try and keep you in your seat with a fair pour, and the overall price at the end of the evening is about the same. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!!! A party of 16 had to wait 45 minutes just to get our drinks. The utensils were dirty. Then, we had to wait a total of 45 more minutes for our meal. Keep in mind that we ordered our food and drinks at the same time. When our food arrived, some people didn't receive their food for another 10 minutes. The food was either cold, hard, raw, or just not good. The chicken in the chicken sandwich was raw in the inside. Thankfully, it was noticed that it was raw, so no one ate it. The service wasn't great either. My friend had to mash her own potatoes. I got the California Grilled Chicken Flatbread. The "cilantro pesto" was a mayonnaise that had a speck of cilantro in it. We decided to not eat and leave. We didn't have to pay and we got coupons. We found out that that there were only two cooks and the manager had to step up and cook because no one was there to cook.
