They were understaffed as expected these days so I have no problem being patient. Most of the food was fine but my chicken tenders with mango sauce tasted "off" is the only way I can describe it, it tasted of bad food. But the biggest issue is cleanliness. It's just not clean, even now when there should be extra cleaning being done. The booth and the wall were dirty and so were the bathrooms. I don't know what the answer is to being short staffed and not have enough staff to clean accept either limit the amount of inside guests to offset time to clean or something? I just wouldn't recommend it, as a chain I generally like Chili's but this one was not clean. read more

This is the second order I have placed with Chili's through GrubHub. On two separate occasions, Chili's FAILED to provide the service that I am accustomed to receiving in regard to having all items I ordered being delivered. I called Chili's and spoke with a Marissa who FAILED to listen to what I was saying about items missing in my order, but I was being charged as if the order was complete. She stated that Chili's is not at fault. No delivery order should ever leave Chili's without it being checked for accuracy. Marissa says it was GrubHub's fault and not theirs. Not only did this Chili's Restaurant FAIL to accurately fulfill my order, listen to my complaint, but after I stated that I was going to write a negative review on their service, Marissa states, "Have fun writing your Yelp comments!" Too much condescension and not enough listening was evident. This restaurant in the Chili franchise is a big FAIL. Yea, this was fun indeed! read more

I was seated and waited for my waitress to no avail. The table next to me was seated so when that waitress came to that table, i inquired if she was my waitress too. It's raining today so I see a bucket catching a leaking roof, by the bathroom is a broken table hoisted up. It's generally just dirty so as I sit, I hesitate how clean the kitchen is. I ordered a turkey sandwich and I've been asked about my turkey sandwich three times. I was given three sets of silverware for a table of four. Three lunch combos and only one of us got the side that accompanies the half sandwich. Nothing changes about this place no matter how many new faces arrive. read more

Not good at all... Chili's used to be good, but not anymore. I did the to-go/curbside pick-up thing, thinking it would be faster, but it was not. 1. The food was over 30 minutes late! 2. We were greeted at the table promptly and ordered the table side guac with chips and salsa. The guac was fresh with jalapenos, red onions, tomatoes, and a squeeze of lime--refreshing. For my meal, I was craving steak and I chose the 10 oz sirloin with loaded mashed potatoes and a long corn on the cob. The steak was cooked perfectly medium and didn't have one piece of fat or gristle on it. It was tender, juicy, and topped with butter. The mashed potatoes were creamy and seasoned just right, as was the corn. The server kept us filled with our drinks, and we always earn a free appetizer for filling out the survey on the computer. Speaking of extras and computers, there are now tablet-type computers on each table that you can surf the net, read news, let the kids play games, order additional food, wine and desserts, and pay your bill. Please never try and visit this chili's if it seems a bit busy. Not even free money (gift card) could persuade me to wait any longer. We arrived on a Sunday night. Around 7:30. Seemed a bit busy, around a 20 minute wait they said. 30 minutes later and still people who arrived beforehand were not seated. My views across the restaurant presented the fact that 16 tables were free. Many dirty for 20+ minutes. I know it's chili's and not prestigious restaurant. But they are not doing themselves any good by not being expedient when they have plenty of guest waiting. Will probably sell the gift card online. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. From the time we came it until the time we got up and walked out our experience was unacceptable. side note, I fully understand that as restaurants are slowly opening up that staff is not at 100%-although that is not an excuse for the piss poor service When my family of 3 walked in, after waiting for about 7 minutes, I had to go ask the bartender if there was someone who could seat us. The manager came out of the kitchen and said that the hostess was cleaning a table (which you could clearly see that she was and she actually looked up more than once at my family and another group of 2 waiting to be seated). After being seated (after the other party of two) we waited for 15 minutes, during which time the other table of 2 (that were set 30 seconds before us and 1 table away) ordered and received their mixed drinks from the bar. After shaking up their margaritas, the waitress walked away. NO ONE once came by our table to take our drink order, bring us waters while we waited, or even told us they were busy and that they would be right with us. NOT ONE TIME IN 15 MINUTES. There were 2 servers on the floor to cover 4 other tables and ours (other tables were getting their food so they can't use the excuse that we were all seated at the same time). When we decided to get up and leave, our waitress finally acknowledged us from halfway across the restaurant and as we were walking out the door she came up and asked if everything was okay. I asked if I could speak to a manager and she began to say, in a rude voice, "you know there are only 2 of us right" and then went to get the manager. About 3 minutes later the manager (the same one that sat us) came back out from the kitchen. He said he remembered seating us and immediately asked if no one had greeted us. When I said no he said "oh I'm sorry". I explained that I understand that there were only 2 servers but with a total of 5 tables that is just unacceptable and I wanted to let him know. He said "okay thanks" and walked away. Not only was the service horrible but I am also surprised (or maybe not surprised) with the lack of care/concern or being apologetic from the manager. We were not looking for a free meal or a handout in any way but we did want some sort of acknowledgement that our business was actually wanted (especially given how long restruants have been closed and people without a job due to covid)-which we did not receive in any sort of way. Thank you New Braunfels for being so warm and inviting to our family on our getaway from Dallas. We are so grateful that the service we received at Chili's today is not a reflection of the rest of the town. We will definitely be back to New Braunfels soon but will not be giving our business to this establishment. We sincerely hope that this can be a learning experience for their employees as well as management moving forward. They completely messed up one of my meals that I ordered for my girlfriend and she ended up not eating it. (Yes she's that picky) but she specifically asked for something(as it says on our receipt) and didn't get what she wanted. Terrible. Set a reservation for 7 people, and waited about 1.5 hours. The wait was not the issue, however. The issue was in the fact that once we were seated, we were placed at two SEPARATE TABLES! When I asked about this, we were told that there was nowhere for us to be seated together, even though as I am writing this review I am looking at an empty, bigger table! We were seated at a booth for six people, and I asked if there was any way we could place a chair at the end of the table so we could all sit together as a family for dinner on a Friday night. I was told that there was no way this was possible due to "foot traffic" even though we are in the corner of the restaurant!!! If I set a reservation for a table for 7, I shouldn't be advised my table is ready. I do not come out on a Friday night with my family to be seated separately! I wouldn't recommend coming to eat here with a party larger than 5 or 6. Manager did little to show they cared. I spoke with Anthony and he was very nonchalant about our issue. He came from the back and told us there was nothing he could do and left. No solution was offered. Two thumbs down for this restaurant and two thumbs down for Anthony on this Friday night. This review would be zero stars if possible due to the service alone. Only reason I am staying is because we have already been waiting over 1.5 hours. Hopefully the food brings some redemption to this terrible night. Update: Updating to 2 stars. Skillet Queso is good. We finally received a bigger table after a larger table sat dirty and uncleared for 15 minutes. Had to ask to move to the larger table. I was hesitant to eat here at first because of all the negative Yelp reviews. I decided to try it out since it's close to where my wife works. Came in around 5:30 pm. on a Wednesday. My waiter Scott was awesome. He told me to sign up for the Chili's rewards program so we can get free chips and salsa. We ordered the two for $22 deal and got the fried pickles, house salad, and bacon cheeseburger. Food was great and again the service was spot-on. I'll be back soon. Idk when I will learn to stop coming here. We were running errands and missed lunch, we have an hour before we have to pick our son up from school so we decided to give Chili's another chance. First mistake. There were only 3 groups in our sitting area, and by the time we were done us and a new table so it was in no way busy in our section (the other section that was covered by another person had more people but it wasn't crazy in any way) Our waitress saw we needed more time, left for about 10 minutes and then got our order. Dropped the appetizer, came back with food then gone. We didn't see her again. We eat our sides before our steaks, when we get to the steaks we already saw they were burnt but they were way over cooked (maybe cooked medium well but pretty close to well done when we asked for medium rare) we had to wait on a separate waitress to come by, she got us new steaks and our waitress never came back to see how we were. The new steaks were also over cooked and burnt, my husbands wasn't as bad and he was really hungry so he ate his but if we are paying for them I don't want to eat a nasty burnt steak, we flagged down the second waitress again and the manager got me a new steak she made herself which was better, the cookie desert we got was hard and we didn't eat it but it came with the 2 for $25 and we didn't have time to wait around for another correction. we still never saw our original waitress nor did anyone tell us what happened to her. Went in on an early lunch on a Saturday while we where greeted and sat right away after that things just went down hill. Ordered but got tied of waiting so we got up and walked out. Payed for our margarita and the manager had the audacity to say our food was coming out and it was only 23 minutes. We had been there for 45 mins and if your wait staff takes 10mins to put your order in its more like 33mins. And the only reason I was mad is cause I have a three old that was hungry. Thanks Chilis. A month or so ago we ordered to-go from this Chili's location and they never gave me my fries! It was too late to go back so I passed it off as one mistake and let it go. On April 30th we ordered two entrees online to-go. When we picked them up, it storming and pouring rain. I peaked in the bag they handed us and thought I had all the parts of both meals since some things were wrapped in foil and I just assumed they were certain items. We got home only to realize that the asparagus (that we paid EXTRA for) and the brisket quesadillas were missing completely! To make matters worse, in place of the quesadillas was an unappetizing lump of shredded brisket. Seriously??? So I called this restaurant and was promised that my entire meal was going to be refunded and that a manager would call me back later in the evening when things slowed down. Nobody ever called and my money was never refunded. I contacted their corporate customer care people and they have NO response. I used to love Chili's, but I will be going elsewhere from now on. My family and I went to this location for the first time. When going out to eat I am not always just looking for great food but also great service and our server Noah was excellent with his service. He was great with grabbing refills and everything else we needed. He often came back to ask if everything was good on top of everything else he was doing. Me and my mother ordered veggie burgers and half the toppings were missing, and what was there was thrown around the plate. The presentation made it look like a messy salad with buns. For over 20 years Chili's has been my favorite restaurant for special occasions. Tonight we attended this location after my daughters dance recital. I will likely not eat at Chili's again. Our server had no idea what he was doing (no plates, no silverware until asked for multiple times). He could not explain why the fajitas I ordered did not come with lettuce, tomato, sour cream, a plate, or tortillas. He explained that since I ordered my fajitas with no onion that the lettuce and tomato, which are "normally cooked in the food," are also excluded. My daughter ended up not eating because it took over 20 minutes to get a side order of ranch dressing. When I asked for sour cream, I eventually got a small shot glass of frozen sour cream with a jalapeño in it. My father asked for water with a lemon--after the first glass our server could not remember to repeat the service. Although we all had almost the same drink, he repeatedly to be asked to refill our glasses and could not remember what we had. They elected to split our party in half at separate tables because it would take too long for them to find a table that seated 10 (we saw plenty of space in the restaurant). At one table were my children playing with the "ziosk" machine. My 9 year old must have hit a purchase item because a charge for "table entertainment" was placed on the bill. When I asked the server what that was for, four other servers conversed and tried to figure it out. Another server eventually told me it was a charge for us having a large party. At this point just desiring to get out of the restaurant, I just gave up and accepted the charge on the bill. Lastly, the menu changes made recently have tuned the quality of Chili's food. According to the server they do not serve regular hamburger bread any more--it is all "pretzel" bread. As a result, two more of my party--who wanted a standard hamburger, ended up not eating. The fajitas, if served as they were tonight at all locations, went from my favorite dish to one that I just boxed up to take home and make a decent meal out of it on my own. I am normally very patient when eating out but this experience was over the top, and ruined what should have been a great evening. I considered asking for the manager but I honestly could see no one in charge during the shift. When four other employees could not answer basic questions my hopes for managerial assistance are dimmed. This was, hands down, the worst eating out experience my family has had in my memory. After moving here I let my fiancé know I loved cheese fries, chilis is the closest place so we went. We love to get cheese fries and drinks & tip well (we have both been servers) Every time we've been there our cheese fries are burnt. Today I ordered some 2go after being at work for a while & being super hungry. I got in my car & my cheese fries were BURNT. There were more fries without cheese than with cheese. But the ones with cheese weren't burnt. I had ordered the cheese fries about 5 minutes before I picked them up. (That's how far away I was, so that's how I know.) I will no longer be going to chilis. Came in and shared a classic nachos and ribeye with my girlfriend. Overall the experience was good. Drinks came out fast and server was tentative. Nachos tasted great and ribeye was cooked at the right temp. My gf will only eat steak at medium rare so this thing definitely still had a pulse. And for most reviewers who had issues with to go orders. Keep in mind to go containers technology has been the same for decades. This place is so bad on so many levels. The hostess seems annoyed when people arrive and wish to be seated. Is this not her job? Our waiter was entirely ambivalent. My wife asked if their newest drink special was good, to which he replied, "I don't know. I don't drink." Ok... we completely respect that, but don't be so calloused and judgmental in your response.
