The Cajun pasta is very good and fresh, that's usually what I order. I used to like their Big Mouth Bites but the quality of the bread has declined and they always come out well done and a dry. I've been here many times but I was compelled to write this review because of my server, Sergio. He was AWESOME. He was kind, helpful, and quick; it's really hard to find that. My family and I come here very often. Our waiter Victor attended us amazingly. Had our food brought out quickly, made sure we had refills, and we were all ok. The young lady named Katie brought out my husband and I molten cake and instead of going around our new borns stroller, she decided to reach over it, hold on to it as support to place the plate on the table. This has got to be the WORST restaurant to eat at in all of Miami. I have no idea what this Chilis puts in their food, but you cannot come here, at any time of day, on any day of the week, without an hour / 2 hour wait. It is always packed. And with the worst kind of Miami crowd. That special brand of low class Miami person typically found in Kendall. Shudder. And the food isnt even that good! Mind you Chilis serves standard platter style food. Ordered from Chili's website and driver left order on wrong houses door step. Chili's did not have the professionalism to contact me and inform me, instead gave me phone number to a stranger to call me and let me know my food was there which was sitting outside for well over an hour. We have visited this place intermittently over the past 20 years or so...High school graduation dinners, birthday parties and one or two anniversary were celebrated here. Both my wife, daughter and yours truly like this place! I know as in any restaurant chain there is a hit and miss possibility, for some might be an exhilarating and positive experience, for others a complete chaos what intended to be a fine dinning night...Here my comments: 1-Waiting for a table: Never EVER! in those 20 years we have been seated right away, always had to wait, and sometimes be prepared to wait over half an hour specially on weekends, since this location is packed most if not all of the time!We only sat right away when going to the bar and before my daughter came over (she is 16 now), but with she on board is rather convenient to wait for a table; I do hate to wait but have no choice... 2-Food and beverage: Have no complains of any kind...Specially we love their Cadillac fajitas with steak, chicken and shrimp...Also this location has perpetual 2 for 1 on drinks, so you can spend a nice dinner with your family, guzzle few draft beers and eat a good food without hurting your pocket... 3-Service: Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell! Here we started going downhill...Most if not all the time you need to be patient and every now and then go on a little 'waiter SAR(search and rescue)' since chances are the waiter might go AWOL! Being a continuous patron at this particular restaurant I have noticed if you get seated in the middle section close to the bar area and also closer to the front you are OK, but if your table is at either side and towards the back of restaurant, the waiters take longer to get there! I realized it, but there is no way you can ask for a specific location when the place is so crowded...Regarding the waiters we didn't find any one rude or nasty, and maybe am wrong since have no restaurant experience myself, but by adding 2 more waiters at each side of the location might mitigate the slow service you perceive there most of the time. 4-Cleanliness: Despite the rush it is pretty clean, just one minor incident: Some years ago we visited on Friday at noon, celebrating my wife niece high school graduation, and suddenly a little roach showed out of nowhere in the wall, next to our table...Gross, eh? The manager came by, killed the insect and brought desserts for everyone, on the house...Besides that, nothing else worth mention... This restaurant has an excellent location, although sometimes be prepared to leave your car in the shopping center parking and walk several feet to get into the place; it is noisy there so if you are in a romantic mood with your half orange do not stop there...But if you are with your teenager daughter, 2 BFF's and wife, with everyone in a happy mood and do not mind neither noise or search for your waiter, go there!!! My boyfriend and I used to always come here with good service, it was are relax and kick back place with some cold brews and chips and salsa. Sadly my boyfriend was diagnosed with cancer and has been in and out of hospital visits so we have not had the time to go to Chillis in Kendall. A week ago he was released from the hospital from having Chemotherapy and had a craving for Chilis, so even though he was weak we went. We were seated pretty quickly and the server came within 10 minutes of us sitting. My boyfriend was starving and dizzy so we ordered as soon as the waiter arrived. I am on a particular diet I cannot have dairy or animal products or I will get very sick. (pescatarian) I ordered shrimp fajitas and the man repeated our orders back. 30 minutes later the food comes and the server gives me a plate with chicken quesadillas with bacon and cheese smothered on it. I tried getting the waiter but he was no where to be found 10 minutes pass and he still has not passed but to ask how the food was even though my order was wrong and I was trying to return it. I finally stopped a female waitress and she was very attentive and apologized for the mistake. She then noticed our sodas were empty and refilled them. 15 minutes pass and finally the waiter comes by and asks if there is a problem. I then kindly explained stating he must of understood me wrong and he interupts and says " You ordered chicken back ranch quesidillas so thats what you got". My boyfriend laughed because there is no way in hell I would of ordered that. Instead of him admitting to his mistake he was trying to say I was wrong. Finally the female waitress comes back out with the corrected order. This all took in total 2 hours. To add on they did not discount or remove my meal and he never even apologized. I love Chilli's but I was so disappointed today. Our server didn't bring us water for ten minutes!!!! Our food came pretty quick and it was great as always. However, I didn't get any silverware. Really?? It should have been there since the beginning. And lastly, she took forever to bring our check. My friend and I had to split it so we couldn't just use the machine, which would have made our lives easier. On top of that, at some point, she was removing the plates from another table, and she sneezed directly at it. I didn't know if I should have had my food or not. Please improve your service. This place is horrible. Let's start by saying that the waiter was extremely slow. We got here and we're attended 20 minutes after. Once, the waiter finally got to us brought us the app plates they were all dirty and disgusting. Drinks were horrible, sprite tasted like tonic water. Appetizer took 1 hour. No salsa for chips. I want to start by saying that I scored this place a 3 because I experienced 4 star service at a 2 star place! Had everyone other than my server not been so illiterate and rude this place could've been amazing, unfortunately it wasnt. I walked in on a Tuesday night around 8pm, the Miami Heat were playing so I called to confirm table availability. The person who answered the phone said tables by the bar were available to sit at right away. I walked in 4min later, not a table in sight. The manager comes and asks if we have been helped! Standing there like little lost puppies it was a surprise he even needed to ask that question. I then proceed to explain that I called and was told there was tables open by the bar but there wasnt. He rudely explained that since it was first come first serve and the Heat game was on there probably wouldn't be any seats available for some time. Obviously I realize this, but why did this person on the phone tell me I would be able to sit? I couldn't deal so I walked away and picked my own table where I can see the tv.... Ordered the 2 for $20 dishes. I had the cheesy French fries as an appetizer. Really small appetizer since you have to share. Hardly any fries and just covered with cheese. Had the tilapia. Nice and spicy with mango sauce on top. There rice was flavorless pretty much. Broccoli was really soft. Could have used some salt or something on top. Great waitress. Very attentive. I'm a chilis regular, not this particular location. The reason why I gave this chilis a 2 is because the server was friendly yes but not very attentive to us we only saw him a good 4 time but he passed by more than that to go to his other tables and we were there for about 2 hours since i was spending time with close friends. The times we did see him he didn't take plates out of the way, the reason why I make it a big deal is because we had a 1 year old and we eventually ordered dessert but it wasn't until we pushed everything to the edge for him to get the hint. Also my friends husband went to the bath room and he couldn't even use the bathroom because how disgusting it was. I used to enjoy coming to Chili's. The food is actually pretty decent for a chain restaurant. Service and cleanliness are a problem. Stepped in and waited around for a hostess. We were sat down on a table that had puddles of water and the menus were just put on top of them. The tablet on the table was full smudges. Then the waiter took his time to come. The service was good can't complain about the food, the one thing I didn't like was the little kiosk they put on the tables that makes paying "quicker" seems to me its just plain lazy and also kinda distracts if your having a dinner with someone and want to talk to them. I have been to Chili's in Kendall many times. I love that they always have 2 for 1 margaritas and that they continue to introduce new dishes. I recently had the Unlimited Enchiladas and it was terrific. I like that they usually have special deals and offers for the customers. Parking lot is flooded, the bartender saw me and my husband and turned her head the other way pretending she didn't see us.
