I wish I could specify who I want my tip to go to. We did not even meet our waitress until after our food arrived. We had to flag down a manager, who promptly took our order and gave us "please forgive us and come back again for a free appetizer" coupon. Our food was then dropped off by a different server, who noticed that we needed refills. We requested to meet our waitress and asked that she refill our drinks. Before she stopped by our table, I over heard her speaking to another table about " the freaking skillet sides" and how the kitchen is all to blame for poor service tonight. Take ownership! I've been here a handful of times and never had any serious issues but this last time was awful. My friend and I seated ourselves in the bar area but decided we wanted to get an actual table due to the smokers near us. After 5 mins with no hostess in sight we finally sat ourselves. After about 10 mins we had a very sweet and helpful waiter. We ordered the cheese balls and fried pickles and I got a bud light. Food was fine. When it came time to pay we noticed an extra beer on our tab and tried tracking down the waiter but he hadn't checked on us in forever. I also needed a to go box. After 20 mins we paid for what we ordered and I wrote him a note explaining why there was still that extra bud light on the tab. Service overall was terrible and to top it all off we both got food poisoning. read more

My two kids got their food about 7 minutes later...again, only because I stopped the server to ask. My 1 nacho that I did get to eat was over cooked and the chicken (which I paid extra for) consisted of a few chunks of chicken. After I gave the manager the hair with the nacho wrapped around it, he said that he would not charge me...but when the bill came guess what?...I was billed for it. Terrible service! Took forever to get our drinks! We ordered water and tea so they didn't even have to go to the bar! We ordered the table side guacamole and the waiter looked annoyed he would have to make it. The onions in the guacamole tasted bad like they had been sitting out all day. I have officially decided to stop coming to this chili's. The service here is always different every time we come. Some time it is ok and sometimes flat out bad. This time it was terrible. We did have a big party so we expected a little bit of a wait but over all the place wasn't packed at all. Our waiter was friendly and took our order soon after we all got there. After our first round of drinks he was pretty much no where to be found. Nobody ever apologizes for our food taking so long; we were only given excuses. If you didn't flag him down your drink stayed empty. Through all this we tried to be as patient as we could but after about an hour we had to call the manager. Soon as we asked to speak to the manager all of a sudden our food came out. About 20 mins in he finally came and asked us how the food was . We said it was fine but it took forever. He just shrugged his shoulders and never once apologized or even came back to check on us. It was my daughter birthday and she never got the dessert that they promised her. I've been to several chillis in my lifetime but never have I walked out on one due to piss poor service. I walked in with my parents and my wife and first of all we weren't even sat down at a table properly the manager left us stranded and the employee cleaning sta us down. 15 minutes later not even some drinks were offered to us nonetheless any attention to our table. The waiters walked around barely attending any of the tables whatsoever. My mother raised her hand to see if we could get attended but nope completely ignored once again. It's like we weren't even there to be honest. Finally we had enough and left. On the outside the place looks clean I get it it got remodeled, but the unsee is trash. The restrooms are dirty and the kitchen is a mess. Never coming back to this location ever again. It's a shame people don't take their work with pride or at least any respect towards the customer. read more

MEL!!!! We just moved to the area and decided to come in a have a bite knowing that today may be a little bit of a challenge being Memorial Day. Well... it appears Chili's was short staffed because the bartender/waitress Mel was EVERYWHERE! She was like a wonderful ball of great customer service possessed! She was here, she was there, she was everywhere! I looked around and counted about 12-15 people that she was attending to. She was doing everything! Taking orders, bringing out food, taking Togo orders, and checking on all the dinning in parties as well on the bar side. I've given this location a try at least four times and they have all been the same....:terrible! I have yet to be greeted once by the daytime bartenders and in fact they are both flat out rude.....Billy served us tonight. The female daytime bartender has never greeted us nor has she ever asked what we would like to drink at the bar. While at the bar being served by Billy, I had to ask for refills multiple times and still no acknowledgement.....no thank you....nada! I've been to this Chili's a number of times since moving to Houston, and I've also visited the one towards Copperfield. This one has always been better, but it was never that great. Usually the service was pretty slow, the waiters were inattentive, and the only good part was the food. Tonight, after not having eaten at this location in a long time, I was a little worried about how things would go, but my boyfriend and I had a definite craving for the food, so we decided to go anyway. I'm glad we did, because the food was excellent as usual, but our waitress (whose name I don't know - sorry, the receipt didn't print out properly!) was very kind and VERY patient with us. She was very helpful when I was trying to redeem a coupon and messed up the machine. I felt like I was being such a bother but she was friendly the entire time. If the service continues to be as good as it was tonight, I'll definitely make the effort to visit more frequently. I just can't stay away from those chicken crispers! read more

Hostess is completely lazy. Did not want to clean off one of the numerous empty yet dirty tables. Once I pointed to a table to ask him to clean it he did so with attitude. He did not and would not move a chair away from the table so that my 85 year old wheel chair confined grandmother could sit at the table. I physically moved the chair myself and he finally carried it out of the area. There was a spoon left on the floor from his poorly done job of cleaning the table. I had to kick it away from my table at which time he was too lazy to pick it up. I explained to my waitress to please pick up the spoon, she said she would and continued to walk by it 3 times. I watched 5 different employees step over the spoon on the floor before someone picked it up. Neither of the two people I addressed it to would simply reach down and pick up a dirty spoon. Pure laziness and absolutely no respect for elders.... Food was the usual as it always is. Some of the staff needs better more professional training if they are unable to simply pick trash up they continue to walk by. read more

Chili's has embarrassed themselves. I will never return to this particular establishment. Out of all the Chili's I have been to, this one takes the gold medal in being awful. After waiting over 15 minutes for just our soda's our server was able to take our order. I asked for my burger to be medium rare but the server wasn't even aware if the kitchen was able to prepare the meat to that temperature. I was baffled that she didn't seem to know what temperature the kitchen cooks the meat! However, that was just the first embarrassing part of the evening. Our appetizer came out and with no plates and no servers to be seen I used a napkin as my plate. After a while and without being checked on our entrees were brought out to the table. We didn't bother with asking for plates for our appetizer at that point since our entrees were already on the table. The server walked away and as we went to enjoy our meal we quickly realized we had no silverware. We were able to stop the waitress (on her hasty walk past us) that we needed silverware and she was able to promptly bring them to our table. I had ordered the bacon cheeseburger and it turned out well enough. My boyfriend ordered the honey chipotle chicken strips and what he got looked like the frozen Tyson chicken tenders you would find in the freezer section at Wal-Mart. The coloring of the batter was quite dark which would be the result of the fryer grease not being changed. EW. The lumps far resembled anything from chicken strips and I would have personally been embarrassed to allow those to be expedited from the kitchen and served. At this point I went to unravel my silverware only for it to be (not entirely shocking at this point) dirty. I would have gladly asked for a new set but unfortunately we couldn't get a single server to stop at our table. After yet another 15 minute period and multiple attempts at stopping a server to ask for new silverware and a different entree for my boyfriend, our server finally came back to our table. Might I point out that the other server in her section checked on the table across from us, behind us, and in front of us during this 15 minute period of time. When she finally came over and asked us about our meal my boyfriend told her about his chicken strips and she told him she would be happy with getting him a different entree. I was already finished with my meal and we didn't want to wait another 15/20 minutes for fresh food. We would have gladly exchanged the entree with another choice had we not been already sitting there for such an extended period of time and wished to just speak with the manager. He came over and I was put off that he rationalized us waiting for 15 minutes to be checked on because the server had been busy. I myself am a server and in the restaurant I work at that would never haven been a valid reason for such an extensive period of time. He asked what we wanted him to do as if it were my responsibility to tell him how to take care of us. I am quite an understanding person, especially so since I work in the service industry as well, but this experience has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I was compelled to create a Yelp account just to warn others of a horrid experience. To sum this all up, if you're looking to get a reasonably priced casual meal you can have a much better dinner around the corner at IHOP. read more

I was at the restaurant for about forty minutes and the only part of my order that I received was the tea and small salad. I asked the waiter three times to check on my food and at one point he brought me a half a turkey sandwich and French fries. When I told him that I had ordered fajitas he seemed confused. He blamed the wait on the fact that they were busy and the kitchen was backed up. I found that interesting since the restaurant was only half full. Luckily my daughter had ordered the soup and salad with chips and sauce. At least I had something to munch on. Don't go during the week! We go literally EVERY weekend and have a great experience. Stopped by Tuesday night for late night appetizers and beers. WOW! What a mistake! The bartender was too busy chatting with a couple of friends to refill our beers... and it took 35 minutes for food (they were NOT busy at all). Anyway, like I said earlier we go practically EVERY WEEK! So I know the menu probably better than half the staff there and my egg rolls came with the wrong sauce. When I asked for the correct sauce it was apparently a HUGE inconvenience, took 10 minutes and it STILL was not the right sauce. If they were out of the avocado ranch they could have just said so instead of tossing me whatever thinking I wouldn't noticed. Maybe if we had our beers refilled I would have gotten tipsy enough to not care but.. instead it just left me disappointed and now I know not to go during the week. Also I don't mind the smokey bar area - but they need a little bit better ventilation system. read more

I just recently moved to this location, and I was not pleased with my experience at this Chili's. To start off with, my friends and I had to wait more than 15 minutes to get a table. When the waitress came to take our order, she was fairly nice and I could tell that she was trying her best. Overall though, the service was very bad, and I don't see myself going back to this Chili's anytime soon. It took over 45 minutes for our food to arrive. This surprised me because we did not order an excessive amount of food, and the restaurant was quite empty. The food wasn't very good either. It was a typical sandwich and soda that you would get at a regular diner. I was very displeased with the lack of flavor. The price range wasn't too bad, and it was justifiable. Putting it together, the food was very bad, the service was absolutely horrible. I'm sure you're wondering why I put a 2 star rating instead of a 1? The dessert was the only thing that redeemed it. I tried the molten lava cake, and it was mouthwatering. In fact, I haven't had a dessert like this ever before. I understand that its supposed to be a sort of devils food cake, but in my opinion, the chocolate got to your gut. But, the ice cream did even it out, and it was really good. So if you do go to Chili's, try the dessert! read more

Horrible customer service along with incorrect orders of our food. Went there last week during the day after the lunch rush, our server was a sullen middle age black woman, who could not get our orders correctly done. When the food came out incorrect, we sent back three dishes, we never saw her again. A man, I am guessing the manager, brought our new dishes to us but never came to check on us again. When it came to paying our bill, the electronic device was not working and we had trouble finding our server. After asking two other severs, and they kept telling us to us the none working electrical device it took us 5 times to tell them to please just split the bill three ways. One of us paid with cash, they did not bring back her change from the bill. The server did not wait on our table at all, but she ( a young black girl) thought that she was entitle to the change from the bill. Bad service, no follow up and then stolen money. Terrible experience. I ate at this location with a large wedding party, and while the waiter was awesome, that was overshadowed by the events that occurred. I ordered a California Club sandwich, and was about 3 bites in, when I bit down on a piece of GLASS. It was about an inch long and very jagged. I wasn't injured, but of course I made sure to bring it to everyone's attention. The waiter (Anthony) was very apologetic and understanding that I no longer wanted to eat anything else there, took my plate, and got his managers. On his way back to the kitchen, he dropped the plate, with the glass (of course). His manager came out about 10 minutes later, LAUGHED at me, and said they couldn't find the glass. He said without the piece of glass, there was nothing they could do for me. He then handed me $15 "Chili's Bucks" to try to mend the situation. I was beyond insulted. The customer should ALWAYS be right in situations like this (and I know there are a few exceptions), but to outwardly laugh at me and insinuate that I'm lying was ridiculous. He came out again, offered me more food (because he didn't understand the first 3 times he asked me if there was anything else they could get for me, and I clearly said NO), and left me and the rest of our party there. No one finished their meals in fear of finding glass in theirs as well (the excuse the manager gave us was that it was probably in a bag of lettuce that was shipped in). Finally we asked Anthony to bring out another manager - we explained the situation to her, and she was so nice, and so understanding. She took care of our meal for us, and apologized on behalf of the other manager for being a jerk. It didn't make me feel better, but I at least felt like SOMEONE cared. I left the $15 on the table - there is no way I will be returning to this chain, especially this location. I don't want your handouts, and I also don't want to be laughed at by management. So overall - the lack of professionalism demonstrated by one MANAGER, ruined my entire experience. I recommend anyone think twice about eating here. read more

We will never go to this Chili's again. The first time we went there for our daughter's birthday in August. They were understaffed and the service was terrible. We ordered a kid's meal and the 2 for $20. They brought out our daughter's food and half of our chips and guacamole. We got the chips and salsa and we waited another 30 minutes for the guacamole and had to pour our own water. After waiting an hour for our main course, my husband asked to speak to the manager. The manager never stopped by and we almost walked out. Thinking it might be a fluke, we went back for lunch in October, we waited for 10 minutes at the hostess stand to be seated. All the employees in the restaurant saw us but never acknowledged us. Needless to say we walked out. The final straw was on Sunday night, we ordered take out only because we had received a gift card. When my husband went to pick it up he had to wait 30 minutes when he got there because they forgot to put the order in and what they gave us were skimpy portions. They also forgot to give him the drink that came with our daughter's order. After three fails, we won't be going back. Hopefully they'll close this franchise and put in a better restaurant. read more
