I'm honestly a bit surprised by how highly rated this place is, because our experience didn't quite live up to the hype. We visited on Father's Day, so I completely understand if it was busy but it was not and that's always a good sign. However, despite having reservations, we watched two parties who arrived after us get seated first. It wasn't until we spoke up that we were finally accommodated. I also felt terrible for a group of nine ahead of us whose table was apparently given away, forcing them to leave altogether. Once seated, service continued to disappoint. Our server never introduced himself, and although several tables seated after us were promptly served drinks and even meals, we were still waiting just for beverages. When our drinks did arrive, they came out one at a time. The Bloody Mary was meant to come with shrimp, but that didn't appear until halfway through the meal. My coffee tasted burnt and looked more like dark water than coffee. To make matters worse, I had to get up myself to grab napkins for our table and a spoon to stir my coffee which I ultimately sent back because it was simply undrinkable. As for the food, it was underwhelming at best. The eggs were very basic, the chicken sausage lacked flavor, and my son's meal looked overcooked. Overall, I just didn't see what made this place so special. Unfortunately, the experience didn't justify the wait, the service, or the price. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

Butter and Jelly with meal, very smart. Added a sweet balance to the savory meal.

First time eating here. I came with a friend and the place is very clean and inviting. Jason was our waiter and he was thoughtful, patient, and knowledgeable about the menu and the coffee. I ordered the hash and devoured it! lol I didn't even get a picture! My friend and I ordered the French toast to split, but ate so much of our meal that we'll be taking it home! Everything was amazing! I would highly recommend!

We enjoyed our meal here. The ambiance is nice where you have small and large group tables available. The waiter recommended the high flyer and that was perfect for me. I only needed one pancake, scrambled eggs, bacon with a bowl of fruit. It was delicious! I will say the service was trying their best with the crowd they had to try to get us our drinks and food. The owner was helpful with us to make sure we were getting taken care of so that was a bonus. This is a nice place.

tried Flying Biscuit Cafe and I'd say it's a solid 7.5/10 for me. I ordered the fried chicken Benedict. I wasn't disappointed, but I definitely wasn't blown away either. The biscuit was very lukewarm when it arrived, and the egg was already broken, which took away from the presentation a bit. I went on a Sunday morning and had about a 20-minute wait, which wasn't bad considering the time. I would definitely be open to trying them again, but I was expecting more from the biscuit itself. It wasn't really soft, fluffy, buttery, or warm like I hoped. That said, it wasn't bad at all. It's a good option if you're already in the area and want a convenient breakfast spot without going too far out of your way. The grits, though, were delicious and honestly one of the best parts of the meal.

Atmosphere... check. Delicious food.... Check great service.... Double check. Lakera was awesome and showing us the menu. They're making great choices too. My hash was so delicious so filling every time I go to a restaurant I always try something different but it's gonna be hard not to choose that hash again. It was really good. Logan's waffle was perfection.

We decided to try something new for breakfast. We were accompanied by 5 others plus my family of four and there was about a 30 minute wait to sit, which is reasonable for a Saturday morning. Our waitress was Erica, who took care of us the whole time! Most of the people with had the same dish...which was the French toast. It was really sweet but very good! I had the chicken and waffles with the honey butter drizzled on top and let me tell you!! It was absolutely spectacular! Probably the best thing on the menu! Ha! The only thing I didn't like was the kids food. It wasn't enough food for 7/8 year old kids.

Second visit in the last 5 months. I need to express my concerns about the staff. There were many staffers seemed to be walking around but no one was completely doing their job! There were several people waiting to be seated and no one was busing the tables. The hostess was actually busing tables that shouldn't be her job. - Staffer's responsibilities should be more concrete to the person who is assigned the job & needs to be done in a manner pleasing to the patrons waiting to be seated. I have to say I love the sunflowers! The place is cute & inviting. Your food is great. But you would have more people eating at your establishment if you bused the tables more efficiently. We watch several parties leave after being told they have a 30 minute wait - when you can see four or five tables that simply needed to be bused. The manager needs to make sure the staffers are doing their job more efficiently‼ I'll give this place another try and if things haven't changed - I'll go somewhere else. Side note - floor had food all over were a baby had been sitting - the person cleaning the table just kicking the food around out of the walkway - did not sweep it up at all - this is a disgrace.

We stumbled upon this place few years ago (original location) and we loved it. So when we heard there was one a little closer to us now we had to go. We got there and was told it would be a 25 minute wait. Well that 25 turned into nearly an hour. But once we were seated it was smooth sailing. We already knew what we wanted. My wife and I both got the steak and eggs. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Or food came in a timely manner and was exactly how we ordered it. And those creamy dreamy grits.... WOW

Small chains always make me question myself. If this was a local establishment that's been open for years the quirky paintings on the walls and the lackadaisical service would be endearing, as in I could tolerate it because it's culture. But this "The Flying Biscuit" is part of a mini chain copied from an original and I expect procedure and routines from my chain restaurants. I know what to expect at an IHOP, Denny's and even Waffle House, they have a routine, one person comes and seats you in a rotating section or in their section if they're not busy. Maybe Flying Biscuit has this routine but the procedure wasn't followed and that's why I had to wait 10 minutes to be seated without a cent being acknowledged. Maybe that's why I had to wait another 5 minutes before a server announced themselves or even said anything, maybe that's why "who I guess is" the manager was just walking back and forth and not actually helping his servers. The point is maybe something fell through and I went on a bad day, the other thing is the food and the fake quirky murals weren't good enough to make me recommend "The Flying Biscuit Cafe" in Cypress over say an IHOP. My wife had the Eggstravaganza with French toast and I had the Steak and Eggs. It was fine but not great, just meh. The "famous" biscuits were really good but the "famous" grits were just okay. If we're going quirky mini chains I prefer "Black Bear Diner" on the other side of 290.

The bright table made me smile.

For my visit, it was crowded but not to where you couldn't hear your table. Dress is casual, good for friends, solo, or pit stop. Service: 5/5 Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Since it was our first visit there, she gave us some background that it was a Pappa's owned restaurant and food is made from scratch. Food: 3/5 They offer mimosas and I was tempted to order, but was driving and it was 9AM so forewent that option. There are food options for every tastebud. Mark ordered the fried cheese sticks, they were one of the items that I found worthwhile to return for. I opted for the Waffle feast. It included a waffle, that I added pecans on top to, two strips of bacon, eggs your way and hash browns. To say that I needed to add salt and pepper to the eggs and hash browns because they tasted bland and flavorless was unfortunate. It also was served at room temperature, because it was made from scratch, would think it be warmer to hot. The waffle was savory and had good mix and topped with the pecans made it even better. If you're on this side of town and want a change up from the "other breakfast diners" DOT would be where I stop. Fast, friendly service. Depending the food you get, it gets the job done for some sustenance to hold you over when you're not sure when your next meal is because you'll be in Galveston for 7 hours riding a float in the Mardi Gras parade.

I wanted to start with one biscuit, but the biscuits come in pairs. The waitress said I could order just one anyway, but the order ended up being two. I meant to save the second one for breakfast, but that was not to be. It did not survive long enough to make it out the door. My actual meal was a bacon swiss and mushroom burger, which was excellent. Between the biscuits and the burger, I am forced to acknowledge that it was entirely too much food. Sadly, that did not prevent me from eating all of it anyway. Delicious! The restaurant, which is a diner with very basic decor, is on an approach road to IAH, and is open 24/7. When I arrived in the evening, the place was empty. By the time I left, there were a whole bunch of customers. I noticed in other reviews that people were saying they did not receive checks for their meal and felt they were over-charged at the register. While the majority of diners were older and a more mature crowd, there's a lot to be said for value, and we thought the menu price was better than reasonable and I think a lot of people will discover this as a value destination, something we all appreciate.
