It's been about 3 years since I've been to this location . I noticed the menu changes and physical changes of the restaurant . I ordered the coconut rum punch and the chili chicken entree . The drink barely tasted like there was alcohol in it , but I finished the whole thing because It helped curb the the spice in my entree . The chili chicken entree was hot and seasoned very well . My boyfriend ordered the steak fajitas , which were also on point with the seasonings and I enjoyed the black beans he had on the side . Additionally , I appreciate they are very generous with the chips and guacamole appetizer , we could barely finish it . Our server came around many times to check on us without being annoying which is another plus . Overall 7.5/10 experience . read more

As someone who used to dine at this restaurant often, this was the worst service in an establishment I have ever received. I will highlight only a few of the many issues I had with my dining experience tonight. Our waitress clearly had a poor disposition from the moment we were seated and continued to serve us with a condescending tone and behavior. I will overlook the fact that dinner for a few people arrived early at the same time as the appetizers while the rest if the group waited on their own meals. When the waitress decided she would come to check on our table, she would not clear dishes away as needed to make additional room on the table when more plates were on the way. Despite all this, the absolute worst part of the night was when our group went to pay the bill. Because she had not come to the table to clear plates, box dinners, or offer the check, we decided to pay via the kiosk at the table. After a third of the table had paid, the machine malfunctioned. At no point in over a half hour of struggling did she come to see our table. When we were finally able to mention the issue to her, she told us that she could have helped us with a printed check, in the most condescending tone I have ever heard. Then, instead of helping us, she turned and walked away without a single word to let us struggle for at least another fifteen minutes before one of us went to seek help. Even with a manager's confusing and apathetic help, the bill was split unevenly and poorly distributed, leaving our party to resolve the confusion amongst ourselves. I am sad to report that I would no longer recommend this establishment for a peaceful dining experience. read more

Chili's is about as American as baseball. But much like America's game, it seems this restaurant has begun dying a slow and painful death. I remember on a Friday night in summer '13 the chocolate molten would be hot, the potato's loaded, and the chicken crispers, crispy as ever. Now the floors are littered with trash, the tables are sticky, and and even the tap water tastes like it was squeezed out of my damp bathing suit 3 days after I swam in the Rahway river. What gives? MAKE CHILIS GREAT AGAIN! You can't bribe good reviews out of me with "MARG MADNESS"! What ever happened to predictability? The milkman, the paperboy, and evening TV! I never usually give five stars especially to a chain restaurant. But this location and this particular restaurant definitely served its purpose We came here for happy hour and we are from NY and the prices were just right we have never been to chilis and we were just amazed at the options and the appetizer options. We had maybe 6 drinks and ordered 4 to go appetizers and our bill was less than 60 which was beyond us. The service was great. We were seated right away. I forgot our sever name but he was so chill he gave us enough space, didn't linger but was always right there if we needed a drink or anything else to order. We also had dessert it was some kind of brownie with ice cream and fudge and I'm not sure if it was all the drinks or it was the fact that it was actually really good but it tasted amazing. Recently, this past fall, we returned and became regular consumers because the meals were delicious. However, we went to the restaurant tonight, Friday, January 6th, 2017, and had a HORRIBLE experience. Whoever was cooking had a VERY heavy hand on the spices, creating 5+ alarm dishes, even when we ordered no spicy food! I ordered the chicken fajita without pepper and it came loaded with peppers and other spices. It was so hot, I could not eat it. My boyfriend, who likes spicy foods, could not eat mine either. The manager made a lot of excuses, trying to tell us that it is always made this way, which we know to be untrue. My boyfriend ordered the 3 meat combo and, even though he likes spicy foods, said that this was ridiculous! We do not like paying for food we do not like and have to send back to be redone...only to have it come back just minimally milder than previously. A manager needs to know that the customer is always right and to make accommodations for problems to satisfy his customer to maintain his business, not make excuses. read more

OK HERE GOES.. went there just about a week ago. every week i take my grandkids out to eat so this was there choice.. walked in and the place was almost empty .. sat down waited over 15 minutes to get my waitress to come to the table place the entire order as i felt this was going to take awhile.. after about 10 minutes the chips and salsa came.. ok next the beverages .. ok waiting waiting waiting .. there were more workers on the floor than patrons so i could not figure what was the problem .. finally two kids meals come .. by the time my meal came out one of my grandkids was done with his meal.. after the meal asked for the check which strangely enough came ight away.. upon leaving i told the hostess how terrible the entire experience was and she just blew me off.. called the place when i got home as i did not want to say anything in front of my grandkids and the manager was apolgetic and told me she would comp the meal but don't expect to see it.. terrible place as we as terrible service .. i can see why the place was empty on a friday night dinner time as well as happy hour stay away to many other places who are looking for business to choose from read more

They really gotta do better with take out .. this place is literally right around the corner from my gym so I come here from time to time when I want a decent meal. Weather it's 10 ppl in the resturant or 50.. it seems like you always have to wait on your food even tho you call it in! In addition to that ..when you do get there.. it's very rare the person at the register will even greet you..let alone acknowledge the fact that your even there (this has happened several times and the place was almost empty!!) I called my order in around 7.. they said it would only be 30 minutes..I gave them 45 mins because I had to run other errands.. I get there and the person took my payment ..came out with other food (none of which was mines ) .. didn't say anything to me and proceeded to give the person that came in "after" me ..there food !? I'm like "hello"-is my food coming out any time soon !!!? The person then went to the back and took another 5-10 mins to bring the food out that was already called in !? It seems like you have to wait every time for a take out order. I don't think I will be back here anytime soon. read more

If I can give this a zero star I would. First we waited for our table for about an hour to be told they didn't have our name down. So there was another 15 mins waited by the door to be seated 'right away'. Another 20 min sitting at the table without any drinks or even a chance to order. While the waitress apologized for the delay - nothing had speed up afterward. The drinks would take another 10 min. At this point we've been sitting here for about 30 min and counting for our dinner. Ordered the Ribs with French fries and Vegetable as the second side with a side Salad to start with. The Vegetables came out ice cold. The French fries had way too much salt. The side Salad was good. I do not like when you give your order to your server and everyone but your server brings your salad and another person brings the entree, just my opinion. When the "server" brought out the entree I asked for an empty plate and extra napkins, he wakes away and never saw him again. The manager and our server who took the order. Went to Chili's with our family and my in laws tonight. Instantly hopped on the Yelp in the car to recognize our waitress Andrea and the evening manager for their great customer service and awesomeness. It's was packed when we got there, but luckily we called in advance and they accommodated for our stroller. Considering it was so busy with the line out the door, you'd think it'd be chaotic, but the staff seems to have things down to a T because they were polite, quick and efficient. They also thanked us for our service seeing as 3 of the 4 of us are Veterans. Will def. Go back to this location even though it's a further drive from us living in Nutley. 9/18/21: A friend and I had lunch today at Chili's in Clark. Generous portions, clean, comfortable environment and our waiter Daniel was super wonderful and made us feel so welcome. He knew the menu and graciously walked us through some of the different dishes. We also met Gabby the manager who was also so friendly. Nice staff all around. The hamburger was the best I've ever had, the fries light but crispy, and my friend who favors Mexican food said her Black Bean & Veggie Fajitas that was served with lots of great stuff was very delicious. How is is conceivable that a chain named after a great American classic has the audacity to serve a pre-mixed bowl of gelatinous goop, and pass it off as something resembling actual chili? I tried adding various unpleasant hot sauces, but i couldn't make it past the first spoonful. The young kids hired as waiters try their best, but there is nothing that could save a lunch as distasteful as that. To top it off, the manager who came over to serve the plain, rare burger I ordered to replace that pseudo-chili abomination, just stood there, zombie-like, staring at companion and I, not even saying, "I'm sorry", or "Can i offer you a drink". I can see why this place has a low rating. Our server was not good. We were there for a late lunch (3:00 pm), so it wasn't very crowded. We had to ask for everything: straws (after we got our drinks), plates for our appetizer (after we got it), and refills (second request). I'm so glad that we could pay the bill at our table's little tablet so that we didn't have to deal with our server again. It's a Chilli's, nothing special. Would rather drive an extra 5 minutes to downtown Westfield or Rahway for a better dining experience at a mom and pop. The place does get very crowded on the weekends and for happy hour. Actually, I am always shocked at how crowded the restaurant is at all times. Also, most of the food is deceivingly unhealthy for you. Check out nutritional content before dining, some options that don't seem like they will hurt that much can really set you way back. read more

I like this Chain. This was my first time at this particular location, and it was ok. The interior is definitely nicer than other locations I've been to. This one had more of a Sports Bar look. I had a specialty magarita that was way too sweet, but a good amount of alcohol. I believe it was the pineapple, and a berry magarita. I hope this isn't the taste of all of them...if so; someone could go into shock. Other than that my service was good, and my appetizer came out promptly. read more

One of your waiters (I don't remember his name) but I've had him 4 times, usually on the bar side. I noticed that every time I order the 3 for $10 he will not come check on our table. His face actually becomes sour and his demeanor becomes very poor as if you order this deal. I'm aware that he's thinking, "Oh great. My tip is gonna be terrible now because the bill will be low." If he actually did his job properly with a good attitude, I'd easily tip 25% or more.Now when I go, I specifically ask for him not to be my waiter. It is alright here. the first time bf and I went, we had a really odd waiter who I guess didn't believe I was 21 and hesitated on giving me my vodka tonic even though I had already shown him ID. Then the rest of the night he was very awkward and I felt like he was behind me the whole time. Almost like he was trying to listen to our conversation. We just laughed about it but it was definitely weird. I also went not too long ago and it felt like the waiter was trying to kick us out the entire time. Very rushed. A friend and I ordered an appetizer and before we could even begin to eat, my plate came out but hers was no where to be found. You know what you're getting when you go to Chili's. You have to be in the mood for the salty, bad-for-you menu, with oversized portions. Even most of the salads clock in at over 1,200 calories! I'm a fan of the black bean burger, chicken enchilada soup, nachos, the new Shiner Bock BBQ burger and the guiltless grilled chicken sandwich. A lot of people like the fries, but I think they're way too salty and usually opt for a different side like steamed brocolli. The "To-Go" service at this location is usually pretty good, but last time I picked up an order they forgot my drink and served me soups that had nothing in the broth (server must have skimmed the top of the soup). Overall, you get a good meal here, like I said though, you have to be in the mood for what they're serving. This location gets very busy at dinner time and parking can be a hassle. read more

I like the service here, of course, very familiar faces, friendly. I also enjoy meals and my mango ice tea all the time here. The decor and interior is decent, nothing special. Though, they're not as clean as Applebee's but yeah, it's a good place to eat out with families and friends. I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday. We went for Happy Hour. The location was right next to Barnes N Noble. It wasn't crowded when we got there so it was pretty quiet. We ordered some margaritas which were okay. They could have been stronger for the price they were charging. For appetizers, we ordered wings and sadly i found hair in my food. I had them take it back. The manager came by later to apologize. The rest of the food was good. It was okay, nothing special to rave about. As the evening progressed, it did start to get louder and more crowded. The waiter was okay, a bit hard to find at times but he was helpful, not as attentive as I would have liked. We got our salad we finished no one cleared or plated.. People walked passed us and nothing.. My water is empty.. Kids drinks empty. Now I hate when I have to ask for a refill.. I think as a customer I should be asked. Fajitas finally came... Now where's our food..oh its on its way.. Lol. Come on I hate that. First of all, the kid behind the host stand was oblivious. Ignored me while he was on his phone and didn't really want to be bothered. Stared at 4 empty high tops in the bar with no one within 15 feet of them and was told there was a wait. Couldn't have been because of covid because people were sat at tables right next to eachother throughout the restaurant. The link they sent me to check my place in line through the yelp app was a dud. I will never again get car side to go from this restaurant. Waited over ten minutes in the car after texting the word "here" like your suppose to, mind you the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Get out to go inside to get my food , shocking no one around once again. Wait another ten minutes. Finally when they ask me my name to hand me the right back there was no apology for the wait or the fact that I'm inside when I'm suppose to be in my car receiving the food.
