Shrimp Pizza
Chelsea D.

*Review from a visit pre-COVID19* My fiancé & I absolutely LOVE this place! We love to sit outside overlooking the golf course! It really is stunningly beautiful. When it's a little chillier out or when we go later in the evening, we sit at the tables with FIRE PITS. Yes, FIRE PITS! All you have to do is ask your waiter/waitress to assist in turning on the fire (which can sometimes mean they get a propane tank & hook it up to the table - don't worry it's very quick to set up but worth it). We got the Shrimp Scampi Pizza which unfortunately I don't think is available anymore! So sad because it's the best non-conventional pizza I've ever had. * PS If you are planning to go with older folk, pregnant women, or kids, I suggest being dropped off at the valet entrance on the side of the building closest to the Parkway. There is a steep walk up to the restaurant along the golf course that may be a little difficult for them. It's also the same area where golf carts will be passing you, FYI.

The large chunk of lettuce stem in my cesar salad. Fabulous!

We would have given this restaurant one star if not for the waitress and manager. The tables outside were all full but there were only 4 tables inside with people dining. There was also some sort of golf outing which filled the bar area with golfers. There were a lot of servers standing around but still service was very slow. We ordered our drinks and waited 20 minutes to get them. The waitress did apologize and tell us that they were very backed up. (Hence, the second star) I ordered a dirty martini and got a martini glass full of yellow liquid which tasted like vermouth and olive juice. It was awful. I told the waitress and she suggested that I order something else. I told her that all a dirty martini consisted of was vodka and a splash of olive brine. She came back a few minutes later and told me that the manager was making my drink so it would be better. The manager brought me my drink and apologized. She was very nice and the martini was much better. (Again, the reason for the second star) Now onto the food. I had the cesar salad- it was very bland. And it also had a giant chunk of the stem included in it. Yuck. My husband ordered the fried calamari. It was very tender but tasteless and the marinara sauce tasted like tomato paste with sugar added in. He also had the cheddar burger. The bacon was so incredibly salty- it almost tasted old and the meat in the burger was bland. After all was said and done, we spent $72 for a bland salad, tasteless fried calamari, a flavorless burger and 3 drinks. We will definitely cross the Red Knot off our list.

I go to the golf range here a ton and sometimes I pick up lunch. It's always pretty good even though a bit over priced. Today I literally paid $18.50 for a salad, $8 of which was for adding the four slivers of chicken on the salad. Oh and by the way there are 5 ingredients in this salad, one of which being cheese, and they forgot that. Yeah, no thanks.

Perfect night

What a beautiful night - service is good and food is excellent - sitting outside - what a sunset.

On my second visit, I tried the blackened shrimp and corn cakes, and that dish alone inspired me to finally leave a review. Every ingredient was so vibrant and delightful, with flavors that complimented each other beautifully. The sweet corn cakes combined with the heat of the shrimp and the creamy avocado were perfect. The various textures made each bite even better. My friend also loved the american waygu burger. The place was pretty packed around 4:30 pm on a Saturday, but service was still pretty quick. Our waitress was also super sweet and attentive. Definitely one of the best dinners I've had in the area. Amazing spot!!

My nephew who lives nearby treated us to an al fresco meal recently while visiting for a family event. My pulled pork smashed burger was everything you want in a packed meat sandwich, with an onion ring and tangy sauce on the brioche bun. The sweet potato fries and a refreshing mocktail to drink made for a perfect meal. Sweetie ate a pasta bolognese (I think) which looked and ate good, and drowned it with a nice glass of red wine. It was packed on the Friday night we visited, with folks lined up for seating, or to hang at the bar and enjoy the bar scene. No reservations. Our late dinner worked fine as the mostly millennial and Gen-Z crowd started thinning shortly after we arrived. Millburn has always been a draw for neighboring townsfolk in search of a meal out. I remember this foodie town from 25 years ago, when its pizza, kosher and diner offerings were top notch. It seems to have upgraded its food scene several notches since my last visit so many years ago. Pure nostalgia for me which made for a very flavorful evening. TOP TIP: Street parking in this part of town is a hassle and the local cops keep a sharp eye for illegally parked cars and inebriated drivers. So park further away from the center of town where you are more likely to snag a legal spot on a busy night.

My colleagues got the lobster roll + champagne and I got the "sliders" with a side of truffle fries. They had happy hour prices for drinks as well, so we got a few glasses of wine and cocktails. The happy hour prices are a great deal. Especially the lobster roll + champagne!! Service is very quick. The staff attentive despite the crowd. The sliders were the biggest (pleasant) surprise. They were HUGE. Almost the size a full size burger. One of the owners stopped by and laughed that it was the only size buns they had --- but it's seriously such a great + tasty deal! Honestly would come back for these happy hour sliders alone! Overall we had a great time here. Haven't tried any of their main dishes, but judging from happy hour alone, this place is one to return to.

I tried the fusion wings: honey jerk was a sweet flavorful wing, and the Thai Glaze had a heat that was very tasty and left you wanting more. The whole dish felt like a hug, and I had it with a side of tostones that I ended up dipping into the soup for an extra crunch. I topped off my meal with a Brazilian Kiss that added a great kick to the overall meal. Coming from LA, I knew I had to come, but this is definitely a new staple for me for future trips.

Typical "Mexican" restaurant interior with both high top seating & standard table seating. Staff were friendly and efficient, drinks were nice a strong. Food was good and this place could definitely be a local spot to go to on a whim. We had Quesadillas de Birria, Volcano Burrito-which they cut up and classify it as "sushi burritos," and Margaritas. It is important to note that the complimentary chips and salsa were good. Everything was good and I would suggest if someone was asking for something in the area, albeit I would run back here on a normal day. My wife ordered the senorita flaca burrito and I ordered the chicken fajitas. After you order, they will give you a complimentary basket of chips and salsa. Very difficult to unwrap because of that. Shocking they would come out this way because it will burn your skin. No warning from the waitress. Not enough shells in the packet (3). My wife enjoyed her burrito. Plenty of veggies. Both portions were very generous. The service could have been better. The waitress never came back for the obligatory "how is everything." We could have used refills on our soft drinks and more tortilla shells. Prices were reasonable and not exorbitant.

I didn't see much space for huge parties but be mindful and make the reservation in advance. Went for an early dinner at around 6:00ish and was seated immediately. Service was on point. Now for the food. The seasoning was immaculate. We did try the griot app (not pictured) and it was very flavorful. The Rasta pasta dish was seasoned appropriately and provided a comfortable heat. If you are used to typical heat of pikliz then you may find the spice level was at a mild level which paired nicely with the passion 75. The drink tasted more like a spin on a mimosa but I was wish the passionfruit was from the fruit to bring in the tartness - still good. The cheesecake was pretty standard. We had the short rib empanadas, which were crispy and fully of meat. They were definitely the highlight of the night! The rasta pasta was good, but it came out warm and with few shrimp. The flavors were still excellent, however. The carrot cake for dessert was moist and not too sweet, which I prefer! The space was also super clean and well maintained. What really disappointed me was the service. We had a reservation, but had to wait to be seated even with plenty of open tables. That's normally not a big deal for us, but we had an event to get to tonight, so we were in more of a rush. Someone came to us to ask what water we wanted after 10 minutes of being sat, after which the hostess came back over to us to apologize that our server hasn't come over yet and asked if we would like water. Much more time passes and someone (still not our server) comes to ask us if everything is alright. We explain that no one has taken our order, which she apologized for and took our order for us. She then had to come back over because she forgot to include what protein we picked for our pasta. Finally, our server came over to us. We explained that we had already ordered. More hiccups continued throughout the night, including a long wait for the check, never being brought a dessert menu after asking, etc. I'm not one to complain about service, I just think they could be more efficient. At the time we arrived, there were only a few other tables seated in our area. It wasn't super busy, and there were a lot of people working. We overheard staff whispering about who was supposed to be taking care of us, and it still took time for someone to come over and help us. I think the staff knew we overheard or were disappointed in the service, because our dessert was free, and we received a bread basket as well. I'd love to give them another chance, just maybe not if I have plans after.
