This is a lovely, upscale restaurant that's great for special occasions. It's spacious, with high ceilings and cloth upholstered seats. To start, our table shared the burrata. It was light and fresh. For my main, I had the avocado toast. This was a unique preparation with hummus and almonds. The bread was quite soft. It was tasty and filling. The accompanying crispy breakfast potatoes were excellent. Perfect texture with a nice crisp bite. The portion sizes of all of the dishes were very generous. Our table also ordered the tres leches french toast, chicken waffle, and pappardelle, and everyone was satisfied. A couple of people ordered sides of eggs and bacon and they were able to accommodate that as well. To drink, I had a couple of the non-alcoholic cocktails. They were both quite good. This places has some strong pros and big fallbacks for me that made it tough to review. - Ambiance: This place deserves a 5 for the grown and sexy vibes. It was a perfect date night atmosphere, super cozy yet sophisticated and chic. - Food: I think that my food was decent. I ordered the short rib and it wasn't bad but it also wasn't great. My family ordered the branzino and loved it and the salad was a bit underwhelming. I think it was mostly a 3. - Service: The service was amazing! I came to vine and oak for brunch for my friend's birthday. The restaurant has a classy look to it. The staff was really nice and accommodating. The butter for the bread was unique, it had a sweet herby taste to it. The tres leches french toast was different than what i expected. I thought it would be soaked like a traditional tres leches cake but it wasn't. Nonetheless, it was still tasty. The springe sangria was a nice cocktail. One of my friends really loved the fish tacos and everyone enjoyed the fries. Keep in mind that there is street parking available but its on a busy street. This place comes highly recommended so I was excited to try it for my birthday. I got lucky and got a parking right across the street. It's definitely in a busy spot of the town and there's construction so parking could be an issue. We had a reservation and were on time. When we got in I gave our name to the young lady at the front and then the phone rang. She picked it up and we had to wait a few mins while she addressed the call. That was interesting. Once we were seated our waiter came right away. Danny was great throughout the whole night, he was attentive, showed up right on time when we needed him, and ensured we had everything we needed. The ambiance of this place are definitely gorgeous-dark, moody-it gives NYC bar vibes. Now let's get down to the food, which is always the most important part, at least for us. For apps we had the grilled sourdough with ricotta cream and grilled peaches-for hubby it was a no. For me it was interesting flavors but the cream was very thick and there was a lot spread on the bread. The bread was super thick and not warm. Overall it was okay for me. I had the short ribs with carrots and polenta cake-I enjoyed the ribs they were flavorful and soft, the carrots were sauteed nicely and the cake was good. I could have finished it but I took half home. My hubby had the filet mignon medium well. It came out crispy dry. We have been to many steakhouses and he usually orders it that way and it's not been that dry. The drinks were good, the spicy margarita was very spicy but the phil collins was really good even though I couldn't taste that much liquor in it. Went to dinner on Friday for an early birthday celebration. The ambiance is very intimate and a little "romantic". I love a little romance for any occasion. The service was amazing. We sat that bar while our table was set for us. The bartenders were kind, funny and engaged in conversation. They allowed for one of my friend's to sample the spicy blood orange margarita. The food was delicious. I was full from bread and appetizers that I had to take the rest of my hanger steak with me. It wad perfectly tender even the next day. There is street parking and a parking deck. Finding parking around 630pm on a Friday was not easy so definitely plan for that. I didn't use the parking deck so I'm not sure how much it costs. Came here last night to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food was amazing! I was so full. We started with the Fried Burrata (so good, I forgot to take a pic) and the calamari. Very well seasoned, just wish there was more calamari and less roasted peppers. For an entree, I had the Hanger Steak well done. It was grilled perfectly and had an amazing house sauce on top. The drinks were nice and strong too. We started at the bar before we were seated, and I kept with the Sangria for the night. Wasn't sure I'd like it because I'm not usually a fan of white wine, but it was soo good! The ambiance was great. Not to loud and not too quiet. The restaurant was dimly lit to perfection and the server was very attentive. I would definitely return. My ONLY issue was parking wasn't great. Previous reviews said there was a small lot nearby, but there was construction going on directly behind the restaurant (where I assume it was supposed to be) and the next closest lot required you to download their parking app, but it wouldn't load in the App Store. Hosted a bday here for a party of about 25 people. Everything was great. Our server was very attentive. We were seated in a private corner of the restaurant at a long table. We needed to add two more seats to our party at the last minute and accommodations were made. The ambiance and decor beautifully lent toward the bday decorations (I bought very large letter balloons for display and giveaway bags for each guest). The ambiance is really nice and doesn't feel like you're in cranford New Jersey. They've invested in their interior decor and the vibe is upscale. The food was good and by good I mean solid. Nothing that we had was a wow factor but it was solid and good enough to return. We had the strawberry arugula salad and substituted the cheese for goat cheese. I love goat cheese and fruit on a salad! I had the steak as a topping to be cooked medium but it was definitely more rare than medium. The crispy chicken sandwich was okay. It lacked flavor to us but again, it was okay. The fries were really good and tasted fresh with fresh potato cuts. Their bread was awesome! I asked if they made it in house and apparently it's brought in from a local bakery. The bread is k fresh and light and pairs really well with a semi honey butter that they serve it with. Service was just okay. My waitress seemed in a rush even though we came for brunch and we were 1 of 3 tables being served at the time. She spent no time to allow me to ask any questions or offer another beverage. I'm leaving the rating at 4 stars because overall the server was polite just not truly attentive throughout the time spent. There was also no management that came around to check in which could have probably helped balance the lack of communication and attention from the server. My friend encouraged appetizers and dessert so we had a nice taste of what Vine and Oak Tavern had to offer! My friend ordered an aperol spritz but after tasting it wanted it to be sweeter, our waiter was attentive and friendly and took the drink back and had a sweeter version for her within minutes. Next was the appetizers, it was so hard to decide what to get so we ended up ordering two to share. First was the cauliflower, omg hands down the best cauliflower I've ever had. The sauce it's served with was addictive. In addition to the cauliflower we ordered a burrata flatbread which was also delicious and fresh. This course was my absolute favorite of the lunch. If you go for one thing, make it appetizers!! For my main meal I had the sliced steak sandwich. It was tasty and I could have done with a little extra cheese sauce and/or something to give it a little spice or tang. I can't remember what my friend ordered. Then on to dessert. We decided on crème brûlée, a classic and a favorite, and the waiter recommended the Oreo French toast so we went with that as well. Crème brûlée was as delicious as you'd expect and the French toast was very good too, but at that point we were over-full and couldn't finish it. I wanted to update my review because it has been a while, and I ended up here for dinner. They have some negatives, so I'll start there. Drinks- weak. Both the old fashioned and margarita. My margarita tasted like water it was so light. Pork belly appetizer- presented in an interesting way with a sprig of rosemary to decorate the cutting board. I haven't had thin sliced pork belly skewered like that before. It wasn't cooked long enough to render properly and thus was chewy. Don't order this Branzino- really crispy skin, actually cooked well and exceeded expectations. The broccolini on the plate was also good, as well as the puree under the fish Short ribs- the meat was tender, properly cooked. Was it amazing? No, but it was a solid dish and I'd recommend it. The mushroom sauce was good too Bread pudding- nothing to write home about but it wasn't bad. Just mediocre Service was good, waiter was attentive and checked on us often during the meal. Would I come here again? No. Definitely not. However- since their main courses were ok, I felt I should bump them up a star from my previous review. read more

Wonderful! We ate here for the first time the other evening and had a fantastic experience, start to finish! I made a reservation to be safe, was welcomed and immediately sat- seamlessly, no wait. The ambiance is lovely! We went during sunset and enjoyed watching as the restaurant shifted into evening mode. Beautiful, chic, posh decor that feels like an elevated dining experience as soon as you walk in the door. The place was pretty busy but definitely had staffed well with that in mind. We saw wait staff and bussers everywhere, working together and keeping a close eye on guests. I wanted to recognize this because throughout our entire visit, we felt very well tended to and noticed staff anticipated our needs and checked in frequently. We had the Cesar salad and the pear salad. Both were delicious! My favorite of the two had to be the pear salad, but if you want a solid Cesar, they've got you covered! The bread was pretty basic but the butter spread was delicious! Pretty sure it's infused with rosemary and thyme and has a hint of sweetness to it- so good! For dinner we had the Salmon and the RibEye. Both were excellent! The steak was cooked perfectly and was huge! It came with the most delicious crispy potatoes that were SO GOOD! Place has a very sophisticated, high end feel. Recently renovated (probably from a bank if I had to guess), amazing decor. Servers were very friendly and attentive. Food was less exciting. Started with the chili honey pork belly: nice presentation, no taste of chili, not crispy enough, overall disappointment. The lamb bolognese and open face steak sandboxes were tasty. Had a great anniversary dinner here this past Monday! The restaurant was not crowded, service was very quick and friendly. I had a peach martini and espresso martini to drink - both well crafted! We shared the burrata appetizer. It did not come with bread, but there was bread for the table and we asked for more. The burrata was not too creamy, which I liked, and came with great pesto and tomatoes. I had a filet mignon for dinner - yummy! - and my wife loved the short ribs. She did note that last time we came, the short ribs were served over creamy polenta rather than mashed potatoes, and she liked the polenta better.
