terrible service cooked my steak wrong 3 times and my friend had found a hair on his pasta our waitress had a harsh attitude i had told her i don't even want the steak anymore

Full rack of ribs with french fries and steamed broccoli - A meal featuring a full rack of ribs covered in barbecue sauce, served with French fries, steamed broccoli, and a small cup of barbecue sauce on a metal tray.

My husband and I went for dinner. It was super busy with and estimated wait of 40 minutes but was seated within about 20 minutes. Our server was really nice and the food was pretty good. The chicken strips we got were a little over cooked and the chips and Salsa we ordered was salty but all in all the experience and food was still good.

Smash Burger with Fries and Iced Tea

My wife and I brought another couple with us and dined here yesterday evening. We started off with an appetizer of chips and salsa. I love their salsa. Then, we all ordered from the " Three for Me" menu, and we each enjoyed our meals. We each ordered a SmashBurger. It's a delicious burger topped with cheese, lettuce, chopped onions, and Thousand Island sauce. (it comes with fries) and a salad. (Tip: the Honey Mustard salad dressing is very good!). Our server, Jordan did an excellent job of checking on us and getting us whatever we needed.

chicken sandwich - A partially eaten chicken sandwich features fried chicken, fried egg, and condiments on a paper tray at a casual dining restaurant.

everything was fine until i got my chicken sandwich. there was so much mayo that i gagged. it was so excessive i think the chef got a little too excited and slathered that baby in white stuff. service was pretty horrible. server was very unprofessional and talked slam about other customers right to our faces. smelled like lemons. MAYO WAS IN TOP AND BOTTOM OF BUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! couldn't even grab the sandwich without getting COVERED in mayo

Would've been nice if the waitress didn't spill the queso cheese on the table.

It's decent for a chain. Not too pricey. Good rewards for signing up. Service is quick and efficient. Chips and salsa should be free again.

When traveling for work from Toronto, I usually take the opportunity to have my bosses pay for me…read moreto enjoy new and interesting foods. This time I was inspired to look for a Mexican ceviche. In my most recent adventure, I visited Taqueria La Loma in Akron and very much enjoyed my meal. After ordering from the counter, I sat down and was quickly given some fresh chips and salsa to snack on. Although these were delicious, I probably should have passed on this because what I ordered was much more that I could eat alone. I was impressed by the flavor and value of the Mixed (shrimp and octopus) Ceviche, and would absolutely suggest it to anyone. I'd never had octopus ceviche before, and was concerned about chewiness, but was pleasantly surprised at how tender it was. I assume the shrimp ceviche is similarly good. I also ordered 3 birria tacos. I found there was maybe slightly too much cheese in the taco, but the tasty consomé dip was impressive. To wash it all down, I had one of the best horchata drinks I've ever had in my life. It was sooo good and a must-have. The staff was attentive and helpful, and the food came out quickly. The restaurant was basic, but clean, and looks like the kind of authentic place you'd want to go for a casual but tasty Mexican food meal. I will be recommending this place to my co-workers in the Akron office, and will go back again next time I'm in town.

Our server who I think was named Marey (?) was amazing and so sweet. Next, the food! We ordered a LOT of food, and it was all great! Chimichangas, two beef cheek and two shrimp tacos, all the hot salsas, chips, horchata and margarita. All really flavorful and again...came out hot and fast! People in the restaurant all seemed to be happy and enjoying the vibes. We will definitely return ASAP.

El Cowboy Tex Mex Grille - Taco Salad

El Cowboy Tex Mex Grille

A couple of things…read more I ordered, for takeout, a taco salad with chicken in it. It was a Friday evening (July 2025 to be exact). I called ahead. The shredded chicken -- ew -- which was EXTREMELY DRY, and the flavorless shredded cheese (shredded chicken???), were on the BOTTOM of the salad. The overly abundant shredded lettuce, the very minimal guac and sour cream, along with the pieces of colored corn strips (WHY were those there if the salad is in an edible shell???), were on top, which was bizarre. The taco shell tasted like it had been fried a day or TWO before. Stale. No crunch. Not crispy. It was heavy, dull, and tasted old. No dressing or salsa comes with this disaster. If I didn't have salsa verde at home, this would have been MORE of a tragedy. Who wants a dry, old-tasting "salad" without an appropriate dressing? $12.99 for this? Nope. Not even close to worth it. You guys want to know how to make an incredible taco salad? Go learn from Tacos el Rancho in Orlando. I've NEVER had a bad one from there. What a shame my first -- and LAST -- from your establishment was so depressingly bad. Is it because expectations in Youngstown are so much lower when it comes to TexMex? I guess Florida and Texas have higher standards and expectations. Calling the order in was ridiculous. I'd expect the English-as-a-second language problem in Florida, not Youngstown. But making myself understood, and trying to cut through the accents of staff, was unacceptable. Is the hispanic population here that large? Is the customer base of that demographic? WHY would this place make communicating so challenging? If not, which I suspect is the case, cater to your paying audience. If I have to work that hard to make myself understood by your staff, I'll go elsewhere. These guys can't get a taco salad right. I am an accomplished home cook. I can make my own TexMex. I can make my own taco salad better than the awful mess I got from this place. It's nice, though, to have a tasty go-to when I don't have the time and energy. El Cowboy is definitely NOT that go-to. I won't be back.

Our visit to the Robinson location was good, anyways. I've been to this location a handful of times previously and never had a bad experience. Both of us got burritos and an appetizer of chips and salsa to share. I also decided to have a margarita and it really hit the spot! My burrito had 3 different sauces on it, a side of sour cream, and I decided on beef birria as my protein. Definitely worth the small upcharge! Overall our dinner was enjoyable and the waitress was friendly and helpful. We don't go to Mad Mex super often, but it's a good choice in the Robinson area and the prices are fair. As a chain restaurant hater most of the time, I do like Mad Mex.

From the time we entered and left you would have thought we were a total inconvenience. A more than half empty restaurant and we were advised they don't have a table for 12 and not sure if they could actually seat us at all. I asked if we could go to the bar and the manager who was a blonde woman said "sure" but we can't really hang out for long. (What does that even mean???). We made our way to the bar and our group was casually making their way in but we were advised that we can use any of the bar tables and we all have to open separate tabs, which was fine. Out of thin air a back table randomly appeared (sarcasm) and they said we can move our party to that table and we would have a dedicated waitress. The waitress took one round of drinks and appetizer order and then never came back. We couldn't even get a refill of waters. When I went back to the bar the bartender said we have to order from our waitress and I said "The one that doesn't want to wait on us??" And told her I would just give her cash for a beverage since I know she didn't really want me opening a tab. The was my 2nd time here and both have been subpar and a joke. Overall you have a management problem who I guess doesn't need to make money on a random slow Wednesday night.

It was very good but we wish the ingredients were mixed together more inside the burrito. The wing-o tacos are always a great choice with boneless wings and the San Francisco sauce. I typically get a side salad instead of waffle fries with the cilantro lime vinaigrette which is amazing. Tonight I tried the birria tacos and I wasn't a fan. The taco shells were soaked in grease which maybe is how birria tacos are supposed to be but I felt it was overly greasy and also didn't have much flavor. I wouldn't order them again. The other downside is that we've had pretty bad luck with mad mex takeout. The last time I got boneless wings takeout they were very small (not worth the money) and lacking sauce. We only eat dine in now.
