Lobster bisque, lamb on rod w pogach, gyro
Bridget F.

First time my now husband and I ventured upon the keg we were exhausted from traveling from the beach in summer 2017. Walked into the bar and I immediately wanted to walk out. Looked like a party kind of bar , which I assumed the food wouldn't be great. Husband encouraged me to try it because we were tired and hungry. Can almost positively tell you I probably got the lamb because that is what I have gotten every time there after and it is rare to see on a menu. After tasting that lamb on the rod for the first time the keg became our favorite go to spot for takeout and for a quick meal when hungry as residents in hermitage. Husband usually gets the wings today he ordered the Gyro. I almost always get the lamb with the pogach , that comes with it , along with a cup of lobster bisque. Come here again and again . Love the patio.

Hot Garlic Parmesan wings

Overall I enjoyed the visit. The service from the young lady working was very good. She was very polite, attentive, and actively made some suggestions. The pressed steak was good. Seemed a little small for the price I'd say 3.5 stars. Had some wings that the waitress suggested. Hot garlic Parmesan and they were pretty good. I'd say 3.5-4 stars. So overall including the service I'd give 4 stars and I'll be back. Sorry I'm advance for poor picture quality. The sun and shades wouldn't cooperate. Lol

First time. Last time!!! French fries...I think they were cooked. Sat for a while then recooked. Crispy like a chip, almost hollow on the inside. You'd never know it started as a potato. Didn't eat them. Wings.....probably the worst I've had. Ordered dry ranch. I guess they only have enough rub to flavor one side of the wings. Extremely over cooked, extremely tiny and the drummets had weird growth things coming out. Ranch dressing.... bottled! Super bummed.

This is the best place to stop in for a quick, delicious meal. Ask for the Dougies sauce on your wings. You most certainly won't regret it!

Always a pleasant experience, the wait staff are all excellent. We have dinner there 3 or 4 times a…read moremonth and we have always had excellent meals.

Great Food, But…read more... I stopped into the Hickory Bar and Grill while in the Hermitage area. The Hickory Bar and Grille has been around since 1998, and it is a local restaurant serving American cuisine, steaks, seafood dishes and pub-style foods. I actually went there to try one of their grilled items, but ended up having a Seafood Jambalaya from the featured menu. This was a very good take on Jambalaya as it was packed with fresh seafood, clams, and other related ingredients. I did have one glaring issue with the dish and the service. The Jambalaya had baby clams in it; however, the server did not warn me that the baby clams were in their shells. In that thick jambalaya broth, which I stirred and actually looked at before eating, the baby clams were well hidden. I took a few spoonfuls of the Jamabalaya, and on the third or fourth mouthful, I had a mouthful of clam shells. This was not cool, as I ended up with a small cut on my gums, nothing like the taste of blood while dining. The server did not drop a bowl for the shells on the table, so I did not expect the dish to have shells in it. She also did not mention that the dish had shells when she brought it to the table. I wasn't too happy that I had to pull chunks of clamshells out of my mouth either. This is an example of poor communication. The kitchen staff should have told the waitstaff that the jambalaya had shells in it, and the servers should have asked at the very least, "What's in it ? " before their shift. Another server came by the table and asked how everything was, and when I told them that the dish had shells in it, it did not faze her either; she just said ' oh yeah,' and sort of chuckled and walked away, no apology or action. I may try the Hickory Bar and Grille again one day, but I will go for what I originally went there for, steak or another grilled meat.
