Service was great. We were road tripping to NYC and this area was a mid-point. Kitchen is open late and that was a plus. Hubby got wings- they were ok per him. On the other hand, I got the Birra tacos. They were outstanding. Drinks were good and would make a pit stop here again. A little late on writing reviews so figured I'd start getting caught back up. This bar and grille is a local semi-dive bar with cold beer and terrific food. On this visit, my friend and I sat at the bar as it was busy due to a small work party going on as well. We enjoyed a cold beer while we perused the menu. They are known for their burgers but I was stuck on wanting to order the sausage sangwich and boy I was not disappointed. The sausage patty was absolutely delicious served topped with provolone, peppers and onions on a grilled bun and a side of fries to accompany (Sadly, I forgot to take pics). In asking one of the owner's who was behind the bar, he told me that the sausage is made locally right up the street at DePizzo's sausage. I know this place to have fantastic homemade sausage but a fire at their small facility shut them down a few years ago but they still make it in limited quantities and Shaker's is one of the beneficiaries of this deliciousness. The owner ended up chatting with us for approx. 45-minutes where he bought us a few rounds of beers on top of a few shots since Christmas was right around the corner. I tried to get a special on Thursday that I had heard was really great burger. But the bartender (fred) took care of other customers instead of me. This was a Togo order that couldn't be delivered to me. I witnessed other customers receiving their food but not me. No explanation was given to me for the non service. We were looking for a place to grab a burger and beer and ended up at Shaker's Bar & Grill in Canton. Although it looked like a long line, we were seated quickly. The most impressive part was the service. Rachel was right on top of things. Whenever we might need her, she was there with a smile and quick service. Delicious! This was my first time coming to this place and it was better than I expected. I got the boneless wings with honey mustard and they were awesome! I will say the bathroom was tiny and the service was kind of slow. But the food was amazing. I also got the Mac n' cheese bites as an appetizer and they were very good. This was my second time visiting in a week. WOW! Food was great, first time had the 35 cent wings .on Monday and a couple of beers along with Cajun fries. They were great. Missed happy hour but oh well. Great selection of beer on tap and in bottle. On Wednesday I Smelled the smoke at hotel and had to go there for Ribs! Ended up having 1/2 combo. Yum yum, took a half rack of ribs home, was able catch happy hour, yee hah! Service wasn't fastest but who cares I wasn't in a hurry. I just wanted to relax from a hectic day. Don't know what happened but all the sudden the food is bad. They over cooked French fries that used to be good now after several trips keep over cooking the French fries. Even if you get loaded fries they always leave under heat lamp way too long. Owners need to watch their cooks closer. No wonder people are not going there like they used to. Very sad. Still a cool place to go, the food is good as is the atmosphere. HOSS the bartender is still here and cool, the other bartender is not as friendly, but he does his job. Placed an order to go. Not too many people inside and still waited an hour and 15 mins. I get the food and when I eat it the fries are LUKE WARM and the RIBS ARE SO DRY it's practically inedible. Shakers is usually on my hit list while in town. Wing night on Monday is perfect for those who want top notch food and a drink without busting the wallet. Just remember they tend to get packed that day and wait times could be longer then normal.(for a reason it's good ) Food quality is outstanding. I have yet to find an equal for wings on the west coast. During the summer they have rib specials, also superb. The deep fried roll is awesome. Driving through the area on the way to drop off our son to college and we happened to stop at this place based on reviews from other yelpers. Great 50 cent wings (it was a Monday), a great burger (with add-ons at only 50 cents each) and other good dishes for the wife and son made for a perfect stop for a casual dinner.
