My friend had a burger and I ordered the cheese steak. Both were much better than your average bar food. Coleslaw was just right being a bit sweet but not too sweet. Also tried the fries which are reminiscent of fries you would get on the Ocean CIty boardwalk. Beer selection was good with some local/regional selections plus the usual suspects. What an awesome place to have our cousin's family reunion lunch on Saturday August 29, 2026!! We had 16 of us and Lillie was our waitress who did an awesome job! Her manager Dave helped to deliver some of the meals so we could all eat together. Everyone in my party said their food was good! There was another party in the back room so they were busy and managed to do an great job! I had the chicken finger dinner and got like 6 large pieces of chicken that were great! Stopped in for an early lunch right when they opened at 11am, and we're so glad we did! My husband ordered the bone-in wings--super flavorful and cooked perfectly. I went with their famous chicken tenders and got the Caddy sauce on the side...delish! The tenders were incredibly moist and well-seasoned. Came here tonight for dinner and ordered the Magic Haddock dinner. You can have your choice of preparation; broiled, blackened, or panko coated . I chose panko, and it was delicious. The meal comes with your choice of soup or salad. I chose the salad, and it was good... not your typical iceberg lettuce. This salad was more of a spring mix, with cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and croutons. Fresh cut French fries and coleslaw also came with the dinner and they were both very tasty. The service was quick, and the staff is very friendly. A server provided us with menus, the experience appeared to be heading in the right direction. However, the experience just wasn't great after we sat down. It took about 20 mins. just for water and to place a drink order, and another 20 mins for our server to return and take our food order. We than waited 30 mins. for our food. The place really wasn't too busy, it just seemed to take a long time for everything except being seated. Magic Tree is a great spot to grab some delicious food in the Youngstown area. It's easy on-easy off the freeway. We ordered up the famous one pound pretzel. Omg it was sooooo good! The beer cheese dip was money & as was the pecan caramel dip. They are a must! I opted for the side salad & Mac n cheese- both just as delicious as the pretzel. The Mac n cheese was soooo cheesy, yum! My man got the hand cut chicken fingers & fries. They were amazing! The portions are large, so the prices fit the portions. Perfect for sharing. The ambiance is brewery-esque, with a whole rail of microbrews on tap. You can tell the owner takes pride in the quality of his food served. Stop in and see for yourself! My son took me here for a belated Mother's day lunch. Seating is open. You can go whereever you like. They do have a daily special chalkboard. I found the booths very roomy and could accomodate a small group of people. I decided to order the cranberry turkey wrap with bacon along with a side of green beans. My son had the vegan gyro with vegan mac and cheese. The pretzels looked inviting however, since they are made with butter then they are not entirely vegan. We got our food in a reasonable amount of time. I enjoyed the wrap although it was a little bit too seasoned for my taste. The green beans were cooked to perfection. My son loved his vegan gyro as well as the macaroni and cheese. They have a full bar here as well as large TV screens. We had good service and an enjoyable meal. We arrived at 6:30 PM on St Patrick's day for dinner. We were seated in about 10 minutes. The waitress took our drink order and did not return for approximately 45 minutes to place our food order. We had to wave her down and she said sorry I thought you ordered. They had a limited menu which is understandable. My husband wanted the regular pretzel and she said they only had the small one. Was bedding down in Youngstown on my trip through to Chicago, and was looking for a gastropub in the area. Magic Tree came up on Yelp and I gave it a shot. Glad I did. My server Macy was nice, attentive, and the right level of conversational. She knows her stuff, and is an asset on their staff. Had the Black n Blue Burger with their homemade brew chips, and the local Penguin City Ale - all great. And they had this insanely delicious (and simple) french onion dip for the chips that was a perfect match. Will absolutely look to visit again on my next cross-country drive. read more

We visit Boardman for two reasons: shopping and Vintage Estates Wine and Beer. About 3 (maybe 4) years ago we stopped here and were blown away on how good it was, how fresh the beer was, and the selection. Unfortunately that is where it ended. Last year we came back. New menu. Bad beer. The beer selection was poor (not in quantity but in quality). The taste of the beer was bad (flat and vinegar undertones from uncleaned taps and lines). The wine was bad. We came back recently and it was equally bad, if not worse. We'll never come back. We found that it's under new ownership thus the changes to the beer and menu. Perhaps the WORST thing about it was we came on a Saturday afternoon. Instead of the loud sound of college football, they blasted teenage angst music which was utterly annoying and depressing. It's just awful. They'll be out of business soon (likely due to new ownership who is dropping the ball). read more

I went here for my birthday dinner, and everything was impeccable. The service was terrific too. It's very much a gastropub (over 41 beers) with a very eclectic ambiance. I was pleasantly surprised with the outdoor patio as well. I ordered almost every appetizer because I wanted to try everything. I will say you must try the Pretzel Charcuterie. It is amazing. It was a one-pound pretzel, topped with butter and salted. Served with hot and sweet soppressata, imported meats and cheeses, cherry tomatoes, pickled onions, grapes, Dijon mustard, hot honey dip, IPA mustard, hot peppers, and oil, and finally topped with fresh crispy apple slices. It was indeed unlike anything I've ever had, worth the trip alone just for this beauty. Edamame, Hot Chips Chips w/ French Onion Dip,) and Fried Green Tomatoes was all very average to me and didn't stand out. They were tasty but would not be something I went out of my way to order again. Now the Cadillac Cauliflower, which I could eat as a meal, was lightly battered and fried cauliflower tenders. This was far better than many chicken tenders I've had, honestly. It came with their signature Cadillac sauce for dipping, creamy yet tangy with a bit of kick but a smooth version of a Buffalo sauce. It's worth buying in bulk. If they offered it, it's so tasty. I swear this is the uniquely delicious food dreams made of. I've been craving this dish ever since I tried it!! I ordered for my meal the Caddy Mac, which was a four-cheese Mac and cheese served with spiral noodles and served with chicken tenders breaded atop and doused in that signature Cadillac sauce. This was good too but a bit spicy, not too spicy it wasn't enjoyable, but I could feel the heat as I ate it. This ended up being about four meals just with this dish for me because it was so large. I only really took a few bites at the restaurant, though, due to going overboard with the appetizers. Next time I will probably get the vegan Mac n cheese and ask to sub in the cauliflower instead of the chicken, topped with a cardiac sauce. That would be everything I love about this restaurant in one dish. The decor was more an industrial inside feel but still quiet and chic enough to be a great date night spot easily. The outdoor patio was impeccably large as well, and also, as the temp was lowering, they had heaters and a fire pit going. This is a must-try in Boardman!!! read more

We went to magic tree with a large party, and it was a great place for something like that. It is definitely a pub feel and the menu was very reflective of that. While I thought the pretzel along with the sauces was one of the best I ever had, the steak sandwich I ordered could have been much better. The hostess was very nice and patient with us which we appreciated. We arrived hours prior to close, but felt very rushed. It was apparent we wanted to socialize with our party and enjoy our drinks, but were asked multiple times to put our order in right away. A few of our orders came out wrong, which was fine, but they did not end up bringing the things we asked for. Unbelievable. My husband and I took a day trip to Ohio, and along the way, we stopped at Magic Tree. We liked the ambience, and our server, Bruno, was very kind. We each ordered a beer; he had the steak sandwich and I had the Haddock Wrap. I was just about to take the third bite or so, and my mouth felt something strange-foreign. I pulled the object out of mouth, only to discover that it was a metal and plastic twist-tie! I am not normally a "what if?" person, but what if I bit down? Swallowed it?! Now, having worked in a few restaurants, I know, as well as anyone, that mistakes happen. Accidents happen. I am not as upset about the incident as I am about the way it was handled. I called Bruno over, who did exactly what he should have; he took the plate back to the manager. After a rather long time, in my opinion, she came to our table and told us she was very sorry. She'd informed the cook and staff, and she took the wrap off of the bill and gave us a free appetizer card. Am I wrong to say that that is what you do when a food item is burnt or distasteful, not when a HAZARDOUS FOREIGN OBJECT is found in food? This is negligence. I was surprised to see that we were still paying for the rest of the check. While Bruno, who we know had several tables, and not to his fault, took 6 minutes to bring back the check, I noticed that there was a large chip in my water glass. Maybe that was the poison icing on the cake. I asked for the manager to come back, and when she did, we informed her of the glass. Again, no further compensation for the meal. What I am asking, what I feel is right, is for our check to be voided. Seeing that there is diligent attention to Yelp reviews by the owner, I request a response to this matter. Thank you. read more

This USED to be a good restaurant, and known for their giant pretzel. I have been there once in the last year. I ordered the pretzel and it came out black. I re-ordered it and it came out black again! They claimed it was the lye, however there was a perfect pretzel on the table next to me. I told the manager I wanted my pretzel to look like theirs. She told me she will bring me raw pretzel dough and to cook it myself. They won't "waste any more of their time or money". That was enough for me. This used to be a great place to go to for food and music. Now, you wait 20-30 minutes just for them to take a drink order. The quality of the food has gone way down. Meat is either burnt or raw, nothing in between. Fries are raw in the center. The signature pretzel is hard on the outside and raw in the middle. The wait staff hides in the back once plates come out, I'm guessing because they don't want the complaints. I've heard from others that the new owner also owns Coaches, which speaks volumes because Coaches is not very good anymore either. read more
