Not 5 minutes after we place an order the table behind us gets a full menu, with burgers and sandwiches on it. Am I a bit PO'd.... YEP Also the waitress doesn't smile. She looks miserable, geez, at least make an effort! So I ordered chicken and waffles and my husband ordered a few wings. As for the food..... The chicken tenders are AAMazing! Waffle is good and the hubs like the ginger lime wings although a small side of sauce and a few celery and carrots would make a better presentation. But for the diamond in the rough. I can only assume it was the manager/owner that delivered our food. I asked why we had a limited menu as I read here on Yelp I should have the prime grilled cheese. This man offed it to me on the house now that is some great customer service. I had to decline bc we have such a long drive ahead of us but he hands down was so kind. So I'm going with 4 stars. To sum this up I would happily come back just bc of his kind service! As we were finishing up Doug the owner came by again and he is a great reason to visit this place. He definitely has a heart for customer service!! Thanks Doug

I stopped here for lunch and got a fresh brewed iced tea to drink, and ordered chopped steak for my entree. It came with my choice of two sides, so I chose a salad and mashed potatoes with gravy. So 5 stars on the delicious variations of coffee, and 5 stars for originality of the shop itself. It's set in a really cool ornate old building on YSU campus, which I'm guessing has some fascinating history to it. And if all that wasn't enough, the customer service is absolutely outstanding. I always drop them at least a $5 tip to show my gratitude. If you come in with a bad mood, they'll put you in a good mood with their cheery bright attitudes. I've been to many coffee shops in my life and this one has left a lasting impression on me, seriously. Youngstown doesn't know how lucky they are to have this.

The coffee was cold, tasted horribly burnt, and was honestly difficult to drink. I returned about two hours later and asked to taste the coffee again, hoping the first cup had just been a bad batch. Unfortunately, it tasted exactly the same. I genuinely can't believe they're serving coffee in this condition. I understand that coffee can sit for a while, especially during slower periods, but this is a coffee shop. Serving fresh, decent coffee should be the bare minimum. A few simple changes could make a huge difference. Keep a small whiteboard indicating when the coffee was last brewed, use smaller dispensers so it doesn't sit for hours, or offer ONLY French press or pour-over options later in the day when demand slows down. Staffing also seems to be an issue. They really need more people working behind the counter and in the kitchen. If that's not feasible, perhaps simplifying the menu would help the staff keep up with demand without sacrificing quality. It's a shame because the atmosphere is charming and the people working there are genuinely lovely. I wouldn't normally give a business such a low rating, but when you call yourself a coffee shop, the coffee really needs to be good. I hope they make some improvements because the place has so much potential.
