Is there any other place that has chicken as good as the Buena Vista? Myself and husband's favorite! If one likes meatier bites, their chicken tenders are good sized, moist and delicious too. The owner is beyond welcoming, always out to greet his patrons and see how everything is going! read more

Certainly not worth our 45 drive to eat here. Nothing was outstanding. Still looking for a good fried chicken place in the area. Sorry this is not the place. read more

I ordered an order of 150 peices of chicken without wings a week earlier than needed and paid for it in advance. When we went to pick it up for my daughter's reception they couldn't find the order and never made it. I called after the reception and asked to speak to Nick the owner and he told me that he has alot of kids working there. Refused to give me an answer as to how my order was lost. Told me that he had my phone number. It's been a week now and no phone call. read more

We are in town for work and could not be more pleased that we gave Buena Vista a try! We both got the fried chicken and can honestly say it's the best we've ever had. The service was excellent, and the price was even better! read more

We got the house wings and they are a lot smaller than they used to be, that was a disappointment. We used to get them and they were so good and garlicky, but not this time the flavor wasn't there. read more

We go here almost every Friday evening, love their chicken and the service is amazing, tried the pizza last night and was extremely disappointed. Definitely not my style and on top of that it wasn't hot when it arrived to the table. My wife and I will continue our tradition but the pizza won't be part of our experience. read more

Last trip to San Francisco 2 years ago my wife and I made 5 trips to the Buena Vista during a 3 day stay (for the Irish Coffee). Great time. Great, personable bartenders. We've been going to the Buena Vista since our honeymoon 60 years ago and look forward to a few more trips to San Francisco from our home in Cleveland. Pat & Marcia Heffernan read more

Gotta take a break-got sick after eating food that I knew was re-cooked (fries) in old grease (hard like potato chips)! Tenders didn't seem cooked enough, even though requested for them to be cooked hard (crispy). That's called MY FAULT! Not anymore! Made my whole fridge stink (didn't want to put in garbage till garbage pick up-smell too strong)! My friend said she got sick as well. Paying top dollar for bad food! That angers me! read more

I meant to make to this restaurant for their notorious and famous fried chicken. It was so cute when entering and made me think of New York and New Jersey-style mom-and-pop Italian eateries I'd go to as a kid. It was a warm, inviting, lively ambiance upon being seated. Our waitress greeted us quickly despite it being packed and all seats being occupied. The dining room had a low light with candles on each table, which was a comforting and relaxed dining atmosphere. We started with the incredible calamari. It was fried perfectly with a fantastic house red (marinara) sauce. I got the penne alla vodka and wished it had peas or meat on it, but otherwise, it was still terrific. My guest got the smothered bone in 20 oz pork chop with caramelized onions and rice pilaf. We added a small order of fried chicken, two pieces, I believe, with jojos (large coated potato wedges.) My pasta dish was quickly 3-4 meals in one, and after the calamari and my house salad, I think the house ranch was homemade and tasted better than my go too which is Hidden Valley! I only had a small amount and was indeed so full. I did take a bite of the chicken and of a Jo Jo. The chicken is out of this world. So lightly breaded and cooked to perfection while flavorful and so juicy inside. I did try dark meat, which is my preference when eating poultry, but I can imagine how this was prepared. Any type of meat would be outstanding. I will definitely you be back for the chicken alone and the fantastic service we received. I cannot say enough good things about this local landmark! read more

What an amazing spot! Excellent food, service and amazing positive attitude. You will feel like family here! Had the chicken, turban, homemade chips and everything was just amazing tasting. Oh and the hot pepper mix is tremendous. We will be back read more

Best chicken ever...I have only ever not had it 1 time in all my visits...when I was a kid they had no menus...

Very family oriented, love the owner. Very kind guy food is very good and reasonably priced. Usually is pretty busy, but I have been coming here since I was a little girl. You can't beat the fried chicken. read more

My wife and I ate here last night and were very impressed. The chicken had a great garlic flavor and well with the wait time as it's hand breaded and made fresh, we had the loaded tater tots while we waited which were really good, service was great. read more

Stopped in, ordered a pizza and two white dinners (wife and I) The chicken? No need to elaborate, it's fantastic (and was today, also)- just read the reviews. legendary stuff here. The pizza...now here's something- this area has a WEALTH of pizza options, and BV isn't always top of the mind {you know- it's a chicken joint :-) }, but lemme tell you, their pizza is also phenomenal. 5 stars. Place is clean, great atmosphere, the works. Only smudge on today's visit? Christina, our server? Dunno, mebbe a bad day. Never saw her after food was delivered (and she only delivered half)... never stopped back to check on our table... had to ask another person for some carryout boxes,..finally had to go ask our server, busy chatting, to take our check. Ugh. and she wasnt busy. Oh well, that still doesnt take away from a whole hearted endorsement. Great eats!! read more

Great food and great service. Sit in the bar area, it's where the character is.

Food is very bland. No frills. Service is bare necessities. Definitely not above and beyond. We do not plan to go back. It's obvious they are cutting corners during the pandemic. read more

Our first visit to this establishment last night. Everyone made us feel like we've been going there for years. Sat at the bar. Very cool. Had the chicken which I heard was good. They weren't wrong. It was delicious! Would recommend this place to everyone. Can't wait to go back read more

If you're in Warren, you have to get some buena vista chicken. It's always so juicy and crispy. The Jo-Jo's are a personal favorite and you really can't beat the price. I made the mistake of ordering chicken Parmesan (it was delicious don't get me wrong) but when I seen my boyfriends chicken I knew I made a mistake lol. Service at the window is always good. 5-stars for Uncle Nick's fried chicken. Some say Sunrise does it better with their garlic chicken, but they don't know chicken. This is a classic place. Order your chicken when you get there, sit at the bar and have a draft. This is a slice of old Warren. You can order a picnic pack that has 2 breasts, 2 thighs, 2 wings, 2 legs, JoJos and slaw for less than $20. If you like fried chicken, get here fast. read more

Always a treat when it comes to Nicky's chicken. But the BV over delivers in so many other ways. Ultimately, you want to try the Greek Fried Chicken if you are a first timer. KFC has nothing on this recipe. The homemade peppers in oil is out of this world! There's nothing like sopping up some bread in this must try appetizer! Warning: if you don't handle a little heat well, these aren't for you. Another must try are the fried greens. This appetizer comes garnished with a giant fried pepper on top! The greens are so flavorful and not overpowered by garlic like most places try to do. They melt in your mouth and are paired well with any dish on the BV menu. I had the short rack of ribs - which were not oversauced, leaving the essence of the rub to standout. The rib meat fell off the bone with little effort and also offered excellent flavor. BV offers a full service bar and a decent wine list that isn't over the top in price but provides good quality. The service is fast, friendly and everyone makes you feel like you are welcome and wanted. The owners are present behind the bar and on the floor and are truly appreciative/concerned about your dining experience. read more

Well we still like it here. They just seem to have an issue with serving everything hot. Timing I think yet unrelated to how busy they are. We have given up on coffee. It must come out cold. Even the fresh pot won't melt ice. Food is still really good. However, something is always cold. Tonight wife had Baked Chicken, Beans and Mashed. Chicken was hot sides cold. And I mean cold. I had Salmon. Salmon was hot, pilaf warm but cream sauce cold. Yet still very tasty. This place could be a strong 4.5 if they would just work on timing. read more

It's a blonde brick building, not in the best area of town, but the restaurant itself is lovely. 2 different dining rooms plus a bar with booths and tables. It's been a year since I was last here, and hope to get there this weekend while we are in Warren. I LOVE the Greek Spaghetti! Lemony, garlicky and tons of feta cheese! I'll write a more formal review next time I go. Service has been great every time I've been! read more

If you like chicken doused in garlic this is the place for you. But I wouldn't eat there if you have an engagement later that day because there's not a mint in the world that will cover the garlic odor. read more

Best chicken around hands down!!! Great atmosphere and Nicky the owner is the coolest dude around. Love this place.

What an amazing meal! This was our first visit to Buena Vista and from start to finish the meal was perfect. Let me preface and say they are located just a few minutes from Elm Rd in an area that is predominantly a neighborhood. When you walk in you immediately are transferred into a warm cozy Italian restaurant. It's dimly lit but not dark, currently their tree is up and garland around so it's so beautiful and it really gave it a great vibe! Our waitress was great! She took our drink orders and was back with them quickly. She was awesome at answering questions about her menu for us as well. I chose the beer battered lasagne a.m. with Italian noodle soup as a starter and my husband had prime rib with a loaded potato and a salad for his starter. I am usually not a Italian soup kind of girl but this was so good I think I could enjoy it as a main course! It was robust and flavorful with plenty of Tiny meatballs in it. I ate every bite! Jason said his salad was very good. He said the French dressing was a nice one and he enjoyed it. Our entrees were scrumptious! His prime rib was mouth watering and I was glad we had decided to share our main courses with one another. I truly love the bourbon Au jus that it is cooked in. I knew when the menu said not responsible for mid well or well done steaks we had found a great place. Steak never should be over mid rare and oh my lord I cannot wait to go back and have some more! My beer battered lasagne was melt in your mouth good! It is creamy Alfredo noodles and cheese on the inside and a really good red sauce on top. You get two good sized fried lasagne balls and to me it was just the right amount. I did not feel over stuffed or that it was too rich. We shared a piece of German Chocolate Cheesecake for dessert. It was good but so thick and chewy that it was almost like fudge. I think I would have liked a plain chocolate price better but that's just me. It was almost too much coconut and too many chocolate chips for me. But I wasn't upset with it either - lol! We are already planning our next night out here! read more

Very mediocre food. The Rueben was horrendous, tough inedible meat, mushy bread, limp greasy fries. Took 2 bites... couldn't gag the rest down. Waitress never asked if there was anything wrong when entire plate of food was left and no takeout boxes requested. Not going back read more

I was pointed here because it served the "best fried chicken" in Warren. Well, it was chicken, and it was fried, but there wasn't anything to distinguish it from fried chicken from anywhere else, so "best" is quite a stretch. The pasta that my companion had looked like a much better choice. What some call charming, I call tacky.. fake palm trees and string lights, but not in an appealing way. + 1 arbitrary star because of the Elvis impersonator performing in the adjoining dining room while I ate. read more

By far the best place to eat in Warren or surrounding areas. As someone who hates chain Restaurants, the BV is where it is at. Everything is fantastic from the famous Greek fried chicken, pizza, pastas, fried greens, seafood, you name it. My absolute favorite is the beer battered lasagna! In no way can it be described, you just have to try it. The staff is so welcoming and friendly, I have never had a bad experience here. It is a must try and I can assure you that it will become your new favorite restaurant if it isn't already. read more

Buena Vista Cafe - Beer battered lasagna bits!!! The best! - Pizza Near Me - Warren, Ohio

This is a staple in Warren, Ohio. Everyone you know has been there or refers to it in conversations of places to go to eat. My Aunt's used to go to eat here like 1 or 2 Friday lunches, a month back in the day. And during the summer my cousin and I would go when we were out of school. Meet up with the ladies of the family, eat and laugh, good times here for sure. I used to get a little bit of everything here, depending what specials they used to have. It has been years since I've had it but the chicken is good, I heard prices went up, but seems like that's anywhere nowadays. It's good to see that some places still are around and doing well! read more
