A typical Ohio dive, and just like you would expect, the food was beyond good. I got a slice of the Old World pizza (because, why not?) and it was probably the best Ohio slice I have ever had (other than Canton's Pizza Oven). And I got a #2 burger, which was essentially a monster big mack on steroids. I ended up using a knife and fork to eat this burger -- it was THAT big. And when the server asked me if I wanted malted vinegar with my fries, I knew I was back in Ohio!!! I always rate restaurants by asking: would I come back? I found this place on instagram. They had a commercial discussing their deep dish pizza and how they make it. Looked good. So I did some investigating. We were going to be in that area the next day so seemed like good timing. Not hard to find. Big parking lot. In dt Warren. We went on a Sunday around 3p and it was hopping. Both takeout and eat in. We sat ourselves. Place is very family friendly. They have a bar in the main room and 2 other rooms available as well. We sat ourselves in a booth and a server told us she be back. Someone else dropped off menus and cutlery. Menu is big. Starts with burgers and goes to apps, sandwiches, Italian favorites, chicken, pizzas. We all got something different. I got the thin pizza large with cheese. It's on the menu that way. It's a good 35-45 min wait. For all pizzas. I also got a tossed salad. Others got the pulled pork special with fries and cole slaw, fish sandwich with fries and no cole slaw, I think the server messed that up, it's on the menu. And a meatball sub. They have 2 kinds. A splash with bread and 1 with a baguette. We got the baguette. It is huge. 6 meatballs. It's a left over for lunch next day for sure. All was good. Generous amount of fries. My partner got the meatball sub and took the potato skins. Which are the skins of the potato that are cooked like fries. It was unique and good. Cole slaw was homemade and good as well. I do have to say their house dressing for my salad was Italian with feta cheese, it was good. My Dad enjoyed his fish sandwich, it was big. And mom enjoyed her pulled pork and took half home. My pizza came later. It was piping hot. It was thin but not that thin. Honestly I was expecting thinner. It's not NY thin or anything. It was ok.. not bad but not spectacular. It was just ok. Would I get it again? Maybe not I might try a burger next. Those seemed popular and sounded good. I think I liked my salad better. Prices are about average. Nothing too crazy. The deep dish pizzas are a bit pricey but that's a lot of work so I would expect that. Burgers are around $15. Everything else is in that same range as well. Overall this seems like a popular place. Service was good. We'd definitely go back and try out more menu items. read more

We got it for takeout. Best pizza we have had in the Youngstown area! We got the deep dish and an old world pizza. Both are excellent. Next time, we will eat there as it is very cool inside. It took about an hour but I assume that is because of the deep dish. read more

It's been over two years since we moved to the area and we finally gave the Sunrise Inn a try, wishing we had done so so much sooner. We were craving burgers and the Sunrise Inn came up on top, and now we know why. My wife kept it simple with the original cheeseburger and I ordered off the summer Band of Burgers menu. Neither disappointed! I had the "Coral Reefer," the Jimmy Buffet tribute burger and it was cheesy, melting good time. I loved the potato skins. I've never had anything like them. While we waited for our burgers, we were overwhelmed by the rest of the menu... pizza... subs... Italian.... Amazing stuff. A couple of deep dish pies caught our eye on the way out leaving no doubt that we'd be back, again and again. The catering options look amazing too! read more

If I'm ever on Death Row, I'll ask for a Briar Hill Pizza from Sunrise as my last meal. The crust has the perfect bounce on top, and a crispy crunchy bottom. It's baked to perfection. This slow-cooked medley of tomatoes and spices is thick and flavorful unlike typical chain restaurants that slap on watered down ketchup. But let's be honest, it's that dusting of romano cheese that lets me know it's a Sunrise Pizza. Underneath you'll find a few tender green peppers and it's just the perfect balance of everything. Runner Up Pizza: Spinach Pizza. It's got a hefty helping of cooked spinach that's laden with garlicky goodness and topped with a handful of mozzarella. Everything on the menu is awesome -- you really can't go wrong. The Carry-out menu is 6 pages long, so we knew we were really in trouble when we looked at the dine in menus! Talk about decisions. Thankfully, today's staff were so friendly and helpful. As first-time diners, we felt so comfortable and at ease even though this place is fast paced and packed full of large dining parties. I really couldn't believe how incredibly busy this place got. It probably has a lot to do with the wide variety of choices, large portions, and fair prices. Thanks, Sunrise Inn staff and family, for making this a great choice for our 1st trip to Warren. What a lucky find! We were visiting a dear friend and went for lunch. From the outside, it didn't look like a restaurant. Once inside the cosy, family friendly vibe takes over. Great as always! We called ahead of time to order my small deluxe deep dish pizza and was not disappointed at all!! We started with the calamari with their fabulous marinara sauce. So good! Great service for a busy Friday night. Our beer was cold and the food was great. I couldn't eat all of that burger because the portion was huge. Hubby took half of his home for tomorrow said it was really good. I will say I would definitely return why because it's Sunrise. Ordered a to go meal which looked good when we brought it home. Son said holy $&@t that's a lot of food. 2 large chicken breast with spaghetti. Didn't get to photograph before he started eating. Not sure that I have ever had a bad meal here. My wife and I had the ability to have a date day without our littles and decided to drive over a couple of towns and have a pizza. We were told it would be at least 2 ours for a pizza as we watched stacks of pizzas going out the door at 1130am. We both ordered sandwiches. Are you handicapped? If so, don't bother dining in. Order to go. The food was delicious, but we had a few issues with the building itself as well as the staff. The booths are all very narrow, and in our party, we had a friend who would not fit (comfortably and without being squished). Luckily, there are tables available. However, they are reserved for groups of 4+. We didn't think it would be a big deal, they'd understand why we took a table. The restaurant was dead at the time we visited anyway. But I was wrong. I don't know how many of the staff passed by us giving us dirty looks or pointing out that the tables were for groups of 4 or more. (Think Office Space and the multiple bosses reminding him of the TPS Report) We were a group of 3. Again, not even at peak time, they're pointing to the sign. We explained our reason... the waiters smirked and walked away without another word. We felt so uncomfortable, we ended up ordering to go and left. If you're in a wheelchair, don't bother. It's not handicapped accessible. If you need the bathroom, you won't make it back there in your wheelchair. We haven't been back since. Stopped here on a Friday evening. First trip for us. We ordered the "all you can eat" fish dinners. The entree came with two sides. My wife had fries and paid the slight upcharge for a salad. She was full and did not order more fish. I on the other hand ordered a second piece of fish which was larger than the first. My two sides were coleslaw and mac and cheese. The food was excellent and the portions were adequate. The place was busy but our waitress was very attentive. We took a 12" pepperoni pizza home for later... which was a little disappointing. Solid pizza shop. Be forewarned their mushroom pizza is canned mushrooms. Meh. Don't order it. The children's hamburger is kinda dried and over cooked. The fries are kinda floppy so ask for the fries to be extra cooked or extra crispy. The chicken parm and spaghetti was delish. Must try. The best pizza we got was the Monterey chicken pizza it was very good deep dish chock full of meat and veggies. I would highly recommend the deep dish! I came here not knowing what to expect but ordered their seafood pasta with a rose sauce. The rose sauce was like an Alfredo/ marinara mix, very delicious. I did need to add some ref pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to give it a bit more oomph but it was very good even without it. We started with fried calamari, and their version of Thai chili dipping sauce which is was one of the best I've ever had. He had the stuffed (seafood stuffing) sole filet topped with just the right amount of melted butter--seasoned perfectly and not overly buttery. The two people we were with ordered hot pizza by the slice, and I was told it was delicious. I learned sunrise is known for their pizza after we ate there. It's a bit crowded and busy inside, very much an old-school diner feel, but clean and enjoyable none-the-less. Our waitress was super busy but attentive and very kind. Just had their Old World Style (Briar Hill) pizza with peperoni the other day and man was it fantastic. It's actually a staple there and I have had it multiple times over the years. I had a bit of a hiatus from Yelp but am back and needed to write an update from my 2009 review. It's worth mentioning that the sauce was delicious as what the crust. Definitely a must order and if I'm not mistaken, you can order by the slice when dining in or sitting at the bar. read more
