Hubbard let's just say we have a few great little places to check out. This might be my town favorite. Service was great and it's a neat place to hang out to have a drink and meet with friends. We were greeted with a nice warm welcome from who I assume was the owner. We sat on the bar side so we could listen to the local band playing some 70's favorites. Decor is nice and they have outdoor seating available. Food was really good I was torn between a few things. Decided to try the southwestern steak panini. Glad I did for it was really good. Service was great. Mozzarella sticks were the best I have had but it's not a shareable appetizer... three sticks, not even enough to use up the marinara sauce. I ordered the $19.99 steak medallions with a side of fries (because they don't offer mashed potatoes) and a salad. Steak was supposed to have a brandy sauce with onions and mushrooms. The sauce was more like fat gravy with no flavor, the onions were like whole peels and not diced so not edible, and the steak was overcooked and of poor cut. Medallions are usually filet mignon but this was not even recognizable. I pulled out the onions, ate the mushroom, and gave the steak to my dog. Took five people to dinner to celebrate a birthday at $95 with tip, I had a water with salad and fries. read more

The interior and exterior of the building at first glance appeared nice; however, the floors were sticky. The 1st sign of trouble was a bad odor and then service that took forever to place an order. This was followed by an incorrect drink order and dirty silverware. The food quality was very poor for our spaghetti and chili dog orders. Our companion did say the chipotle burger and fries were good. I literally took one bite of the pasta and that was it for me. It tasted off and there was lots of water in the bowl. All this after waiting 45 minutes for it to be delivered. I've only ever been to 1 other restaurant that Yelp gave good ratings to that I would consider horrible. We just had dinner here for the first time. Our orders didn't all come out together. We ate in shifts. In fact, my daughter and her fiancée didn't even get to eat because their food never came. They were out of multiple things and you would place orders and didn't even get what you ordered. I felt bad for the server as she got to deal with how upset we all were. The owner said he was sorry but mad no attempts to help his staff or to rectify the situation. We won't be back. read more

Traveling through Ohio on interstate 80 and got off the interstate for some dinner. Saw this place had 4 1/2 stars on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I'm a creature of habit and will often order a bleu cheese & bacon cheeseburger when they are on the menu. I have eaten them from coast to coast and this might possibly be the best one I've ever eaten! The sweet potato fries which were a one dollar up charge were incredible as well with a maple and butter dipping sauce. Did I mention that I had this paired with a great craft beer. My wife had the seasonal Summer Strawberry Salad which she said was really good. This will be a regular stop when traveling through this part of the country. read more

Decent spot for a quick meal and a few cold beers. Probably our third time here and decided to stop before meeting friends at a local winery just down the street. We were immediately seated and drink orders taken. Beer was ice cold. Mostly typical bar type menu with the wife ordering a burger and I went for the boneless teriyaki wings. Although, the appetizer we chose was breaded zucchini topped with marinara which was damn tasty. Not so much a typical bar type of choice but man was it good. Our server was a polite and attentive young man. The wings were your typical boneless smothered in teriyaki which I enjoyed. My wife's burger was pretty tasty as well with it being a double patty topped with caramelized onions, mushrooms and Swiss cheese. Cooked to her liking and was served with a side of fries. If I could rate this place a ZERO I would. Let me start with I have worked in the food service industry for around 9-years. We had a reservation at 6:00pm for my Grandfathers 75th birthday. We were told around 6:30pm by the server that there is only one cook for the night and they were out of multiple items on their menu. We went ahead and ordered our food. We proceeded to wait 2 1/2 hours for the food and it all came out at different times for our group. When the food was coming out the server said that the kitchen ran out of things when food was hitting the table. Like "we ran out of baked potatoes so we gave you 4 extra shrimp" and "we ran out of penne so we gave you angel hair". Why not ask the guest what substitute side they would like? When 8:30pm hit I told the server my fiancé and I were no longer interested in our food. One of the members in our party got a pepper steak sandwich and was physically ill in the bathroom after not even eating a quarter of the sandwich from the amount of grease. The owner didn't even come out to talk with us, we had to ask for him and seemed like he didn't care. You would think as an owner you would hop on the cook line and help your business plus talk to unhappy guests. At one point the cook yelled "I fucking hate this place" slamming a door. Word of advice for the owner of the Eagle Grille and Tavern if your staff cannot handle a crowd maybe don't have guests sit down, close your dining room, and or post a sign on your door that their meals won't be out in a timely manner. Unfortunate how our experience was and none of us will be back. We weren't the only guests unsatisfied with the Eagle Grille & Tavern experience. During our 2 1/2 hour fail of a family birthday dinner some other guest was screaming about waiting two hours for their food and blamed it on our larger party, which is false. The kitchen was understaffed and couldn't keep up with the tickets and there were only two servers for how "busy" they were. Long story long do not recommend. read more

In the small town of Hubbard, this eatery ranks with some of the better restaurants one might find in a more metropolitan area. The large menu has something for everyone and has an Italian flair. Steaks, sandwiches, pasta dishes, fish, and tonight a Lenten special of Ahi Tuna, a standout for my husband who's had that dish many times. It was a Friday night, and the bar was packed with a birthday party, and just several guests enjoyed the perfect weather with the open door concept. There was plenty of room to accommodate everyone. We sat outside with one other family outside. We sat down and waited only a couple of minutes before being greeted by someone. We ordered a margarita and a beer off tap with fried zucchini and hummus. Both appetizers were great, fresh hummus and chips, and the large zucchini planks were cooked perfectly. The service was great! For dinner, I had the fisherman's platter, rib special, and chicken flatbread pizza. First off, those dinosaur bone ribs were awesome, and the flat bread was really good. It could have been a little crispier, but I liked it. The fisherman platter was great. Hush puppies were perfect, but the clams were a bit chewy. What a fun new place! We spend a good amount of time in Hubbard with my daughter taking lessons and stuff at Hubbard Music and so finding the Eagle for a snack or meal is just awesome! I would much rather sit in a nice place like this and eating crap fast food in the car! We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon with the munchies and an hour to kill between her lesson and her band practice. Since we couldn't decide on just one thing we ordered an array of appetizers and we WERE NOT disappointed! We had fries and cheese sticks and a pretzel and some loaded fries too! Everything came out hot and yummy. I truly loved the pretzel the best. It was not too salty and the cheese sauce for dipping was mild and not loaded with jalapeños like I find they often are. In Hubbard for a wedding and decided to stop in here for lunch. We sat on the outside patio which was really nice! Some noise from bikers and cars driving by but not terrible. All of the food was good! Had a party of 5 and ordered a couple of appetizers which came in about 8-10 minutes and they were good. However after waiting an hour and our food was still not ready, we asked to just pay for the appetizers and leave since we had to be at our destination in an hour (and it was an hour away). The waitress (who admitted it was her first Friday working there) convinced us to take the food to go. She brought the check and didn't discount anything! After asking, she claimed that her manager said it was the cooks fault and not theirs. We paid the full price and tipped her %20. Five miles down the road, we found that they didn't include ANY utensils, forgot one of the sides in an order, and entirely missed one of our orders. Food=ok Service=atrocious Price=average By the way, they claimed that they were busy in the bar area - which had about a dozen patrons but I didn't see any food orders.
