A year ago still doing good, giving decent portions. Now you order in or to ho and portion size is half but price is same. Ridiculous

What can I say it is a Chili's. The wait staff was friendly and my drinks were always refilled. Great place and simple place for my kids.

I used to love Chilis, but this was terrible. Service was bad and slow and the food was inedible. I will not be going back.

The parking looks awful until you spy the public lot just one storefront away. The interior is simple, which I prefer. Some cute knickknacks but not too much. The menu is the traditional Mexican fare, tacos, burritos, fajitas, plates, etc. Everyone should be able to find something to please them. The waitress was so sweet and helpful. They were doing a lot of take out orders and had my party and another couple dining in. She did great making sure we all had what we needed. We all started talking to one another so felt like dinner with a bunch of friends. My friends had the steak tacos and the Americano plate. Both really liked their items. The tacos were well filled and the meat tender and juicy. The plate had lots of steak on it as well as rice, beans, tortillas, etc. The sauce was a tad spicy but not overpowering for my non-spice liking friend. The star of the night was the Crazy Burrito. Massive burrito filled with shrimp, steak, fries, rice, guac and more. And when I say massive, I mean MASSIVE. Everything inside somehow all went together incredibly well. But each bite was different depending on what the ratio of the items was. Probably 1 of the top 3 burritos I've ever had. The steak, meat and shrimp were all perfectly cooked. Will definitely go back next time in Chicago.

Very disappointing getting what tasted like 2 day old meat. I'd be willing to give this place…read moreanother try if it were free.

Don't waste your time on asking for salsa verde because it tastes like nothing. The queso fundido is good but gets dry and hard fast. It's not very cheesy and melty like others I've had. Don't waste your time on the guac either, it's just mashed avocado. It needs some seasoning or spice or lime at minimum. And the chicken fajita's are absolutely awful. It was so disappointing. They have a very sweet and almost bbq-like taste. Also, you really don't get much chicken even. It's mostly just onions and peppers. I had to spit them out. The rice is good though. I'd some back for drinks and chips & salsa but that would really be it. The server was good and attentive and the restaurant was decorated for Valentine's Day. It was cute. We went around 2:30pm and it was not busy.

Waitress/hostess was not friendly at all. Not too many choices on their menu and is the typical Tex-Mex dishes. Got the crispy steak tacos platter, lettuce had a hair and didn't noticed it until half way through my meal. Salsas tasted straight up like tomatoes, no flavor whatsoever, asked waitress if they had a more spicy salsa and she had an attitude about it. Said she could give me green salsa but not their fault if the jalapeños were not spicy. I'm Mexican and no one would convince me that the rice was not from the day before. Every attempt l made to have a friendly nice experience with this lady was in vain, she didn't smile nor even once even tho l was friendly and nice to her.

When the caterer for our huge event of 120 people failed to show up at 6:30am, we were at a loss. I called around and the only restaurant able to assist on such a last minute-large scale event was The Southern Cafe. Without hesitation, DP said that he would do everything he could and cook not only our breakfast meals, but our lunch and two meals for the next day's event as well! In quick turnaround, he and his entire staffed worked hard and cooked up some great food. Thick bacon, great flavor, and phenomenal service. We nearly everything on the menu, and all of our guests loved everything! I can only imagine what they could do in restaurant if the food was this good and flavorful for 120 people on such short notice. So many people asked where the food was from so they can visit the restaurant and get more! I cannot express enough gratitude for the kind hospitality and delicious food service that The Southern Cafe provided. Truly, THANK YOU!!

The manager also checked in on us during the meal as well. All of our food came out promptly. Not only was it delicious, they were very GENEROUS portions. I am a bigger guy and I couldn't even finish my pancakes, as much as I really wanted to keep indulging. The place was immaculate and, considering how much syrup gets used, we didn't encounter any sticky floors or surfaces. All around, I am *already* looking forward to our next visit.
