Frank Capalano was the reason we went in, but the cool vibe kept us there for a few hours. The vintage building looked great on the outside. The big brick building looked like there was some history behind those doors. We walked into a dark room with two levels, a big bar flanking one side of the room and a stage with a dancefloor. I could tell people have fun here. We snagged a small table and listened to the 4-piece band while sipping on an ice-cold beer. The bartender Chris was fantastic. He got busy but never forgot us. There was a popcorn machine which was great, but I was hoping for a meal or at least an appetizer, since I had just gotten off work. It does have the word PUB in it's name. Oh well, the music kept us too busy all night to think about food. The place seems as though it has gotten a facelift. It looks restored not renovated. Everything was super clean, which is always a good thing. I really enjoyed my night at The House Pub and would definitely stop in again the next time I am in town.

Wow, what a joke of a place. Where do I even start. This place may have music but it's far from a…read moremusic venue. Awkward layout with restaurant goers facing the entrance door and the stage tucked into a corner. The audio guy didn't know what he was doing and both band mixes were extremely loud. Most bars have earplugs for this reason. Complimentary earplugs. Not this place. They charge a dollar for earplugs. I order a beer. I'm thirsty so I'd like a glass of water with it...nah. Bartender says he can't do it and has to charge me for a bottle of water if I want one. At this point I realize this place won't stay in business much longer and promptly leave. The only redeeming quality is its location so I'm excited for when it closes and something, anything replaces it.

They had a piano player the night we went but he took a break at 945pm and didn't start playing again till after 1030pm. This was disappointing. Drinks were very good and not over priced. Ah, good old Cub and Spanks…read more.. Now I've only been coming here for the past couple of months, but they fulfill a couple of requirements I require in a bar. 1) cheap drinks. And I don't mean this place is the kind of establishment that serves drinks in red solo cups, they serve them in regular plastic tumbler cups, and they're not bottom shelf garbage liquids either. A Jameson and Ginger ale will set you back a whopping $4. I feel like I'm stealing from the bar when I drink here! This is a good thing. 2) conversational level of crowd noise. This place has never been so loud that I couldn't hear the person I was sitting with, granted, we haven't come here on a Friday or Saturday night, so consider that the asterisk. I prefer a place where u don't need a bullhorn to talk to someone 3 feet away. 3) shuffleboard table. This place will always have a special place in my heart since I popped my shuffleboard cherry here on September 30th after closing out Charter Fitness. However, they've since replaced the old board with a new-fangled board with the prison bars that come up in the middle to avoid free plays, and the table is but crooked. Not that I'm a cheapskate and try to play for free, but the sand gets stuck in the holes so when you start a game, you have to manually push the bars in in order to allow your pucks to slide freely from end to end. I know, I know, #firstworldproblems 3) jukebox. Since the beginning if time, man has attempted to push forth their culture on those around them, and this is the perfect way to do it. You can even control the jukebox from your phone! Well, your smartphone at least. I don't think your Motorola StarTAC is going to help you out here, nor will your Nokia 8200. 4) regulars. You will see the same people day in day out here, whatever day of the week. They may or may not remember that you had a conversation about whatever you had a conversation about, but they're friendly. Or you can chalk it up to this place being a townie bar, but I won't call it that. Come to Cubbies, sidle up to the bar, and maybe drop a buck on a game of shuffleboard or two. If I'm there, say hello and challenge me to a game. I might show you a thing or two. Or not. I've only been playing for a couple if months...

Has mostly drinks but there's also some typical bar food. The drinks are cheap and there's free popcorn. A lot of bikers around here. It turns out they like this place. There's always like a hundred Harleys in front, so just look for those and you can find this. Beer is cheap. Liquor is cheap too. It's about $6 for a basic cocktail. Whatever and Coke pretty much. Food is what is expected. Pretty cheap stuff. Free popcorn is always available. There's also stuff like frozen pizzas if they aren't out of stuff. Better than it looks. It looks sketchy but it's okay. The crowd can be louder than the Harleys but there's usually no bar fights or those kinds of things.
