Tina was our server and she was amazing! The nachos were delicious and the salsa and tortillas are homemade- YUM!

Excellent lunch on the patio, it's inviting and they have umbrellas for needed shade. Our server Tina was fantastic and kept our drinks filled and our taste buds satisfied. This place is a hidden gem and will be back! Get the nachos - homemade tortillas and salsa! Big portion and a great sharable appetizer for me and my two friends that were with me. We will be back!

Absolutely the best staff you can ask for. Service is awesome. Love chilling there after a train ride back. Servers always knew what I wanted.

What I've always disliked about 3rd street in Geneva is there is no good inexpensive bar to just grab a drink and "bar food." Most places or very expansive with no specials or happy hour. Third Street Station is excellent. The price of drinks were very inexpensive ($5 vodka soda, $5 Tall) and a great selection of food that is very delicious (give the nachos a shot). This is an excellent place to grab a drink, food, and hangout on the patio. YES....the train comes through a few times......get over it. Great atmosphere with great food and great staff and.....great prices. I would definitely visit this place next time you are out. It's a nice break from most of the pricey places on 3rd.

The doors are back open after a six month renovation attempt of the defunct Cabooses Bar & Grill. What was possibly the 'last" blue collar bar in Geneva is now attempting an upscale approach to enjoy a cocktail or two. Time will tell if adding a dozen or so 4-top tables and a menu top heavy with an assortment of "Flat Breads" can actually lure the Geneva culture away from Antique Shops. Not gonna happen...this is a booze bar. Metra commuters love the convenience while local beer drinkers enjoy the camaraderie. The Irony here is that the new owners lost six months of revenue tying to fix something that was never broken!

Stopped here to wait for the Metra team. Sign clearly states "take it to go". Meanwhile the bartender gets in my face as I I'm leaving to catch the train to tel me I can't leave with my beer. I point out the sign and he tells me you can't take drinks out after 10 PM. Nice of them to detail the fine points. Seriously beyond rude.

What I liked about it was the games they have on hand to keep you entertained: NES Classic (Duck Hunt!) and darts were enjoyed throughly by us! The downside: the bartender, during our visit, was less than pleasant. And I couldn't figure out what his deal was because I went to the bar once and ordered two rounds: one (beers) for us and a second (shots?) for a friend and her friends at the end of the bar - a serendipitous meeting then and there! His mentality was one of treating me as if I'd never been to a bar before and "testing" me on my beverage orders. It was quite odd. Nonetheless, we had a good time but will probably hesitate on a return visit.

But what really makes this place shine are the bartenders -- Mariah and Robbie. Mariah is an absolute gem: warm, welcoming, and somehow always remembers exactly what you like. She's quick, creative, and makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Robbie is just as fantastic -- funny, attentive, and clearly knows his craft. His cocktails are spot-on every time, and he brings an energy that makes the whole bar feel alive. Between the great drinks, great atmosphere, and two of the best bartenders around, Bad Alice is the kind of place you walk into for one drink and end up staying for three. Can't recommend it enough!

I was disappointed that their beans have pork and they couldn't substitute for non-pork. Since the beans are in many menu items it really limited what I could eat. We got the corn ribs, flautas and burrito. The corn ribs were good and the flautas were okay. I really disliked the burrito because it had whole broccolini which made it impossible to take a bite. I felt like I was constantly pulled veggies out of the burrito rather than being able to take an actual bite. For drinks, I got a virgin Paloma was which just as pricey as an alcohol drink and had so much ice I finish it in 3 sips. It's a cool space but wasn't for me.

We initially tried to dine at Tia Carmen's downstairs, but the wait was too long--so we headed upstairs to Revolución instead. We were among the first guests. The service was friendly, though not particularly attentive. Our server didn't check in often, and we had to wait quite a while for water--thankfully, the busser eventually stepped in and kept our glasses full. The food was tasty overall. We weren't fans of the chips served with the guacamole; they were more like plain tortillas--dry and lacking salt. That said, the rest of the meal was enjoyable. My suggestion to management: even when it's slow, make sure tables have water and guests are checked on regularly. A little extra attentiveness would go a long way in improving the experience.

It was really nice out so, naturally, we were at the outdoor bar/patio. What a delightful space: open, airy, ample seating, great staff. I'd love to share my full experience at Preservation but alas, there isn't much in the way of food…read moreor drink I can report on. The service however, is a different story. My friend and I arrived around 7:15pm this evening, Tuesday night, a weekday. We were greeted by a hostess in a full winter jacket and completely empty front room. She gave us the option to sit in said empty room or to follow her back to a "cozy heated area." We couldn't decide so we asked her to choose, and she led us down a long, narrow hallway to the back. There were three parties total in the indoor patio--us, another table of 2 and a large party of 8. Their outdoor patio was open, and with a view of it from the cozy room. The outdoor patio was festive with holiday lights, heaters and perhaps 3 people sitting at the bar. Many employees bustled back and forth through the door linking our two spaces. Our waitress brought us two glasses of water and food menus, pointed out the QR code menu on our table and walked away. That was our ONLY interaction with her. We proceeded to then sit for 15 minutes, watching our waitress, along with 3 other employees walk back and forth, attentively serving the large party, cleaning up a recently vacated back booth, chatting with one another and even saw another employee take a moment to vape inside near the POS system. We were ignored. No eye contact, no smile, no acknowledgment. It's as if we were not even there. For a slow Tuesday night, with ample staff, this was unacceptable. It grew so uncomfortable that we gathered our jackets and began to walk out. As we made our way back down the long hallway, the hostess, carrying a tray of waters, thanked us for coming in. Clearly there is a lack of awareness--or attention to detail. In what world would we have been able to order drinks, eat and pay our bill in less than 30 minutes since you seated us? But Finally! Someone noticed us. Too bad it was too little too late. We walked a block down to a different restaurant, and had an amazing time, spending more time & money than originally anticipated at that establishment, as a direct result of the poor hospitality and lack of service received at Preservation. Their loss was the Alchemist's gain.

If you're looking for Michelin level cuisine and waitresses that scrape the table cloths during your meal...yeah, no. I've seen a few of the comments talking about individual situations, and I can say if you're looking to be a jerk, then you'll probably be treated like a jerk, then please don't come back and the rest of us will be quite happy not to observe your drama. I would put the Dam bar in the top 5 of all bars in Kane County. And the number #1 pub in Geneva. And we have a lot of good pubs in Geneva too.
