The service is great. The redhead bartender is very nice. Wish they had more food options. The atmosphere there is very laid back

The spark is gone. Patrons are not treated as guests. Its sad that this is even worse than the Stop Light now.

They charge $2 for 3 carrot strips and 4 celery pieces. I also got a Michelob ultra which was $3. It was nice and cold. Our server was new and did not know the menu too well, but he was trying. We were seated in the gaming room, which okay but a little weird. A musician showed up halfway through our meal and played his guitar but no one could see him play because he was right by the back door. Overall, it was okay but somewhat forgettable.

Our server was fantastic. We laughed afterward because we were a little nervous when she didn't write anything down, but she didn't miss a thing. Everything came out exactly as we ordered it. The pizzas were delicious, and a small is definitely plenty for one person. The meatball sliders were SO good -- the flavor was incredible. And the pepper spread? My husband was practically ready to lick the little ramekin clean! He wanted a simple salad rather than one of the specialty salads on the menu, and they were more than happy to customize one for him. Even the ranch dressing was fantastic. Great food, wonderful service, and such a good experience from start to finish. We will absolutely be back!

It was fine except that there weren't other diners there until we were halfway thru so our server wasn't easy to get hold of. Inside has a couple of big TVs playing football so it's like an Italian pub meets sports bar feel. We shared a Chicken Parmigiana and Caesar Salad. Others in our group ordered the Blackened Salmon Risotto, the bacon-wrapped dates and the meatball sliders. Everything tasted pretty good. The Ceasar Salad was smaller than expected as we were hoping to share a couple of orders, and it had cherry tomatoes and shredded lettuce but was good nonetheless. The vodka pasta that came with the Chicken Parmigiana was a standout- the pasta had a good bite and the sauce was excellent. The salmon risotto was also outstanding. The bacon-wrapped dates was unexpectedly stuffed with sausage, so it was very tasty. We didn't have room for dessert as we were stuffed. We didn't have pizza this time but had it previously and it was good too.

Disappointing Experience with Bartender Millie -- Management Needs to Address This…read more I've been to R House in St. Charles many times on weekends and have consistently enjoyed the atmosphere, the music, and the welcoming staff. Bartenders like Tyler and Amber have always made the experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, my recent experience with a bartender named Millie was completely unacceptable and has changed how I view this establishment. I ordered a double vodka Red Bull and watched as my drink was being made. Millie initially poured a single until I had to remind her that I ordered a double. When it came time to pay, my change was $4.30, but I received only $4. I let it go because I understood the bar was busy. When I ordered a second drink, I noticed the price increased because it was last call, which I understand. However, once again, I did not receive my full change. What happened next was the real issue. After I noticed the missing change, Millie told me, "Well, you didn't tip, so I'll remember your face." That comment was completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Tips are appreciated in the service industry, but they should never be treated as mandatory or used as justification to make a customer feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. I have worked in the service industry myself, and I understand how important tips are. However, respect for customers should never depend on whether they tip. I immediately brought the situation to management because no customer should have to deal with that kind of behavior. While I was speaking with the manager, Millie approached me, attempted to shake my hand, and told me she hoped I had a great night. Given what had just happened, the gesture felt inappropriate and did not address the issue. There was also an incident at the exit involving an outside drink. I acknowledge that I was unaware of the venue's policy regarding outside drinks. However, a person wearing an orange hoodie, who appeared to be someone Millie knew, took my drink and spilled it on the ground while Millie watched. The situation only added to an already unpleasant experience. Additionally, I have observed some bartenders taking shots while on duty. I cannot speak to the establishment's policies or the circumstances involved, but I believe management should review this and ensure that staff conduct meets appropriate professional standards. What makes this especially disappointing is that I genuinely enjoyed coming here. I regularly visited with friends, had a great time, and appreciated the welcoming atmosphere. After speaking with other patrons, I also heard accounts of similar concerns involving Millie. I cannot personally verify their experiences, but hearing them made me more concerned that this may not be an isolated issue. This review is not about being upset over a few cents or being charged more at last call. It is about professionalism, respect, and accountability. No customer should be made to feel unwelcome or threatened with being remembered simply because they did not leave a tip. I brought this to management's attention because I want to see improvement, not because I want to tear down a business I previously enjoyed. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, addresses the behavior involved, and ensures that every customer is treated with respect regardless of whether or how much they tip. R House has staff members who make it a great place to visit. However, experiences like this can damage the reputation of the entire establishment. I would like to see meaningful change so other customers do not have to experience the same treatment.

There are two sections to the Frontier Pub; the restaurant part and the smaller cozy pub. When eight of us arrived around 5:30 PM on a Friday evening, the pub was about 3/4 full. This has to be the most comfortable pub in the Western burbs. With sofas and easy chairs throughout, you can really kick back and relax. There is a small bar where the friendly bartender was chatting with her customers. The real attraction on this 7 degree evening was the warm fireplace that was already staked out by 10-12 Fermilab researchers and their families enjoying Two Brothers brews. Since we had a relatively large group we walked over to the restaurant section which is brightly lit with a couple of TV's on the wall. They have several beautiful Bison photos and a huge taxidermied Bison head hanging on the walls. It's a comfortable room but not fancy. The limited menu is standard pub food but its all prepared quite well. Our group ordered turkey burgers, hamburgers, black bean burger, grilled chicken and the special of the day; spinach calzone. I had the grilled chicken which came with fries ($6.50) and it was perfect. The people that ordered the spinach calzone said that they really enjoyed it. We shared pitchers of Two Brothers Bison Head Ale ($15 pitcher) which is a delicious brown ale brewed just for The Frontier Pub. It's a basic menu but the food is prepared with care. I also need to mention that our server was just delightful. (I wish I would have gotten her name.). Even the bartender came over from the pub to chat us up. The good food, unique setting, great service and friendly crowd all add up to 5-stars for me. Fermilab is a great break from your hectic grind. Come out and see the bison herd or even go birdwatching. At the end of your day of exploring, The Frontier Pub is a great place to quench your thirst and fill your belly. Who knows, you might even strike up a conversation with an atomic physicist!

The heavy weight bartender was incredibly rude and seemed genuinely irritated that she had to do her job. Her attitude alone made the atmosphere feel unwelcoming. I also noticed what appeared to be certain customers receiving noticeably heavier pours than others. Whether intentional or not, customers should never be able to see that kind of inconsistency. What was most concerning was watching a regular customer fall and hit his head so hard that the entire building heard it. Instead of showing concern or handling the situation professionally, the bartender's response was, "He does this all the time," and she seemed more annoyed than worried. I honestly can't wrap my head around how the situation was handled. Regardless of whether someone is a regular or has fallen before, a head injury should always be taken seriously and treated with care and professionalism. I left almost immediately after seeing how that was handled. The only bright spot of the evening was the server working the floor. She was, friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. Management, please do better. Your bartender's attitude and lack of concern for customers reflected poorly on your establishment. Customer service and safety should always come first. I really would like to hear feedback on this matter, thank you.
