Go to OLD TOWNE instead!! Here's why. Both places have similar menus. One has 30% higher prices and upcharges for ridiculous items, and fraudulently. Our meals were equivalent in size at both places, but Squire upcharged me a few bucks for a side of veggies over fries. An upcharge for two very small peppers and two thin, small pieces of zucchini? Old Towne substitutes veggies for fries for free, and the serving size is about 80% larger. My son had salmon with fries and a salad. They upcharged us for a side of ranch that he didn't order. That is, unless you are charging for the salad dressing the comes with the salad?? Another couple of dollars added to the bill..this one fraudulently. Very petty. I'm not in a restaurant for the waiter/waitress, but the girl that served us at Squire was robotic, slow and disinterested. She actually looked at her phone while asking us about our order. We arrived shortly after 4pm when the place was empty and several employees were standing around. We sensed that she was more interested in talking to her colleagues are the corner (we could hear them) than waiting on us. Food/taste is similar at both, entrees are equivalent in size, but the sides are differentiators with upcharges and amount. In summary, we're definitely not going back. Not open!! They don't open until 3pm on Sunday. A few other couples show at the same time. We will try again soon. We did come back at 3:45 - place was packed!! Was not fond of the lady manager that was standing with the host as she told us there was no bar seating (there was). Didn't give off the friendliest vibes. Our server Justine was GREAT. Prices are really on the high side. We just tried a couple of appetizers- cheese curds (really good) and the tuna wontons (excellent). Place looks similar inside and we want to come back but the prices may keep us from frequenting. Glad it's back open and hope it's a success!! read more

We sat at the bar and service was great! Kept up with food orders, drinks and water glass refills. Loved the pretzel appetizer, sounds basic but it was fresh and hot and the dippers were divine. Finally got the chance to try this restaurant- sadly forgot to take any pictures :( I am so glad a restaurant is here because there isn't a lot out this way. The menu of this place is huge- probably too big for everything to be excellent- but we were all pleased with our meals. The space looks great updated- much brighter and warm than it was before. There are several rooms available I am sure you could book for parties, and on quieter nights they can probably leave a few spaces unused. We came on a weekday night and had no trouble being seated, but I have seen the parking lot on weekends and it is packed! Our server was lovely, attentive, and timely. Meals we had- I had a burger, my husband had the schnitzel, my father in law had the fried chicken- we were all pleased, and 2 of the 3 of us had leftovers as well which is nice. I also had a paloma from their menu that was quite tasty. I'll certainly be back- happy to have a positive first experience. read more

Just had a fantastic dinner at Squire Ale House! The rotisserie chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy, and the Brussels sprouts were crispy and full of flavor -- definitely a standout meal. The staff was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and really made the experience feel welcoming. There was live music playing while we ate, which added to the lively and inviting atmosphere. My boyfriend and I went here for dinner last night and unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience, mostly due to service. As soon as you walk in, there's a strong smell that honestly reminded me of cheap cherry lipstick, which wasn't the best first impression. We sat at the bar, and the bartender made eye contact with us but didn't come over for about seven minutes. When he finally did, he pointed at us and said, "I need a minute," then walked away and never actually came back to take care of us. A different bartender ended up serving us the rest of the night. The food did take a little while to come out, but the place was very busy, so that part was understandable. My boyfriend substituted his fries for the baked French onion soup with his burger. When the food runner brought our food, he set down my sandwich and my boyfriend's burger, then walked away with the soup and gave it to someone else at the bar. We were confused, since my boyfriend had specifically ordered the soup. No one checked on us during the meal, so by the time we were able to get the bartender's attention and explain what happened, we had already finished eating. The bartender apologized and had the kitchen remake the soup, which was very delicious, but it came out after our meals were done. When the check arrived, there was still a $3 upcharge for the soup. While that's not a huge deal, it was disappointing that there was no discount, comped item, or even an offer of dessert to make up for the mix-up and lack of service, especially since the soup came so late. Also worth mentioning: when the bartender initially took our order, he never introduced himself or asked how we were doing, just asked what we wanted. And after we paid, the bartender who originally told us he "needed a minute" (but never helped us) said, "I hope you guys enjoyed your night with my mental breakdown," which both of us found to be a very odd and uncomfortable comment. The food itself was good, and we understand how busy it was, but the overall service experience really took away from the night. With better communication and follow through, this could've been a much better visit. read more

Tried it again with everyone getting something different & it was still not great. Smokehouse Grilled cheese with brisket was fine Prime rib was ok, but mostly fat Smokehouse Steak sandwich was ok Smash burger was fine Mac & cheese was a better portion this time but not nearly as good, it wasn't creamy at all. Soup & bread with the 2 entrees was nice & the best things we had. BTW what's the deal with the owners pics everywhere? They had a tv that just basically scrolls through his camera roll. No one cares about you, you're not a celebrity. they also had some lady going around the restaurant bothering all the customers (while they are eating) trying to sell raffle tix, & then she grabbed a mic to make announcements about the raffle that no one was paying any attention too. LEAVE YOUR CUSTOMERS ALONE, let them enjoy their meal. That goes for the 2 separate managers that checked in also. I literally couldn't even take a bite of food with all the people coming to our table. Our waitress was handling everything just fine, leave us be. I'm changing it to 1 Star because of the other nonsense that ruined our evening out. Oh & prices are still way high for 2 entrees & 3 sandwiches with fries. Over $150. Our family went there last Friday for a birthday dinner. The manager Sammi was very helpful in finding a table for our group of 12. A few things I noticed 3% fee added to bill for credit card purchases, many drinks on the drink menu had no prices, the only side that comes with burgers or sandwiches is French fries, all other sides have an up charge. Just felt like it was a money grab. Go to the Village Squire up Randall Road, same owner, better food options. read more

I have to comment on the excellent customer service service we received last night at the Squire Ale House. My husband has a walker & was having difficulties when one of the owners, Mike, came & opened the gate to a ramp and continued to assist us all the way in the restaurant & then he had his staff prepare the perfect table for our party, close to the entrance. He was so kind, & went above & beyond to assist us, & make us feel welcome. The meal was outstanding. We had several different entrees and each was prepared perfectly & delicious. We will definitely be back & recommend the restaurant our friends. read more

I should start by saying I don't ever write reviews but felt that this experience warranted one. We were excited to try out this new place but sadly we won't be returning. We had a pretty nice time at the bar and the live music was cool, but unfortunately the food was below average. And I can usually deal with bad bar food, but not for such high prices. But the worst part - we were basically kicked out of the place our first (and only) time there. We were watching the NCAA basketball tournament with other bar patrons when suddenly a bartender turned off all the TVs at once. We all looked at each other in disbelief. When we asked what was going on they simply said they were closed at 10. It was 10pm on the dot with about 15 other people watching the game and finishing their drinks. The group of gentlemen watching the game next to us all sat there with jaws dropped like we did, and quickly made their way to the exit shaking their heads and cursing. The manager's negative and combative attitude clearly showed how little she values repeat business. I'm guessing the owner values it. Very surprising attitudes and behavior, especially given the fact that this place just recently opened. I left feeling shocked, disappointed, and unwelcome. read more

Great decor, I'm glad they kept the fire pits outside too! First, they seated our party of 7 in the noisy bar right by the live singer. Now, with a party of 7, you can assume they want to talk to each other during dinner, so maybe ask them if they want to sit in the bar or the dining room. It was so noisy we could not talk to each other. There is no separate gluten free menu, and no markings on the (very extensive) menu as to what is gluten free. We ordered 2 appetizers and they took longer than expected. Dinner salad and lentil soup came out on time but the baked French onion soup came out alongside dinner. Not good. Dinner after that came out all at the same time. I'm gluten free (not by choice) so ordered the grilled caprese chicken sandwich with no bun. It was room temperature, sliced grilled chicken with wilted basil and one tomato slice on the plate under the meat, drizzled glaze, and burrata very sparsely dolloped on top. For a first time visit, I wasn't overly impressed. Other orders in our group were the stroganoff, rib tips, strip steak, and burger. Everyone said their food was good but didn't elaborate. I will probably give them another chance but I'm hoping for hot, well presented, gluten free choices that I can brag about. I want them to succeed, it's a beautiful space that is great for families but we have lots of choices out here. Gotta wow us! read more

We locals have been waiting for this place to open for a long time! Called for a pickup order but you have to order in person. That's not an issue since I live a few minutes away. I got there and the place was absolutely packed! I timed it perfectly and got a good parking spot and then a spot at the bar. I ordered a glass of wine and my "to go" order. The bartender was great...busy but very friendly and never rushed me. The music was good. The crowd was mixed, but mostly 40 plus. I will spell this wrong but I ordered the Shrimp de Jonghe. The bartender said it was her favorite. The sauce was generous and incredible. The shrimp were fresh and the portion perfect. Two of my kids got the burger. They said it was a little too pink but they ate it all. The fries were good. My wife got the chicken sandwich and she liked it. One of my kids had the chicken tender appetizer and liked it as well. It's a bit pricey...I believe the burgers are close to $17 or so. The place is a similar layout to the past....a good sized bar area to the left with TVs for sports and the restaurant to the right. The outdoor patio area will be nice when the weather warms up. I am very happy to have this location reopen with a quality restaurant and look forward to taking my wife for a few drinks to watch some games in the future. read more

Our party of 4 was very pleased with everything we ordered and the people who served us were being "slammed" at the time yet managed to do good by us !! We have been waiting for their opening for quite a while and are pleased to have a new rest. in the "hood!" Hope to go back soon, and we will, judging by the good time we had ! Bartender in the red cowboy boots does not understand hospitality. Turns NCAA game off, closes out checks and says everyone should go home. Probably cost them another $250 -500 by closing the bar and basically kicking everyone out. New places in the middle of nowhere can't afford to do that.
