I rarely go to Chili's. Maybe once a year or less. Today I took it to go and grabbed a "guilt-less" meal. I had the chicken with mango salsa, rice, and brocolli. It was pretty good and I was happy to have an option that wasn't heavy. Unfortunately, I feel like it was way over priced, especially considering the ingredients and portion size, and most importantly taste. Customer service is pretty lame. Got off work, decided to come by to pick up something for dinner. Quality- the chicken here are always burnt or too dry or too salty compared to the burnet location. Stood there at the ( to-go) for like 10 mins without any acknowledgment of any staff or management. Had a I guess male manager walked right past me and didn't even say anything while I was waiting to place a order. No wonder why this location is short staffed, the service is bad here so the customers goes somewhere else and no customer comes here so staff don't get $ so they leave for another job. So took myself to another place with good customer where the staff is busy but at least acknowledge that you are there and will be with you shortly. read more

It only allows 1 star not 0. I would have left zero. I entered Chilis with 2 companions. Though there was ample seating we were told there would be a 10 minute wait. After waiting about 8 minutes two more parties of 3 entered. They were both seated immediately with no acknowledgement or explanation to my party. Clearly unprofessional, rude and very poor service. Came here with my grandma a few years back and had the time of our lives. The food is absolutely divine, the staff is first class, and the ambiance is one of a kind. My grandma is sadly no longer with us but at her funeral every single staff member from the chilis on 45th and Lamar came to show their respects. My ribs were terrible I waited an hour for the weakest margarita I've ever had Passive aggressive staff I was trying to cut them some slack, but my experience was horrendous. I was very skeptical of eating here based previous experiences at other locations and the general images I had of Chili's. I have to admit that the food exceeded expectations and tasted great. I like the price and the portion of the food. I ordered the 3 for $10. The deal came with a drink (lemonade), side salad, and the margarita chicken. One down side is that most of the options were very calorie dense and fried. I tried to pick something somewhat healthy and the options for a healthy meal were very limited. It was noon of Sunday, a full parking lot, and a restaurant full of empty tables. A bad sign. We were greeted by our very friendly, very professional waitress that escorted us to our table. That's the good news, and the only reason our visit didn't deserve a 1 star. We both order a new menu item. I choose the chicken and prime rib fajitas. I received my side garnish tray with enough for one and a half fajitas. Twenty minutes after we ordered, the food arrives with a non-sizzling fajita plate. I touch the handle of the fajita plate and was told "don't worry, it's not very hot". Well, the chicken and prime rib were not seared and were devoid of flavor and texture. I mean no taste and no texture. You know how some chicken is soft and kind of rubbery, that's it. My wife's chicken was also without taste and texture. Me thinks it comes in frozen. This location is very clean and well maintained compared to other Chili's. However, the food here leaves much to be desired. I had the Margarita Chicken Bowl for dinner. It actually felt like a worse, but more expensive version of the burrito bowl from Chipotle. The ingredients were mostly the same with chicken, rice, beans, salsa, and vegetables. However, Chipotle's ingredients have much better flavor as well as texture. I also had the molten chocolate cake, which was pretty tasty. On the bright side, our waiters were very attentive, and they provided great service throughout the entirety of the meal. I also really like the tablet on each table. I was cautious of Chili's, as I hadn't been here in a while. I came here and we saw the 3 for $10 deal, and immediately ordered. We got the strawberry lemonade, Southwest soup, and the honey-chipotle chicken crispers. It was absolutely worth the money, super delicious! The chicken crispers are super good and taste good with the ranch. The fries and corn on the cob are just the right flavoring, and total we only spent $22! We came home with an extra meal because since we got chips and salsa with the entrees, we were full and took home a bunch of extra food. I'll be back! read more

My family is visiting from out of town and wanted to enjoy a nice evening together for their first night here. Took about 10 mins for the hostess to come up to us , she ask how many (it's 11 of us) : all adults only two kids. I tell her "11" and she proceeds to say omg and roll her eyes. We left. I will not tolerate eating somewhere , where the employees make it seem as if we're asking for to much. I went to the Chilis location at Research Blvd and Burnet today for lunch, I went in to sit at the bar. They have a three for for me menu which I really like. I ordered the Big Mouth Chicken Sandwich, that came with fries and I got the Enchilada Soup as the starter. There is also and option to get a Margarita or a draft beer or a glass of wine instead of a soda. I would have chosen a beer but the only beers available for that option were light beers which I can not stand. I got the Margarita, or at least I thought it was. I was all sweet and sour and very little Tequila. Well the soup came out first and it was luke warm at best, I asked to have it warmed up in the micro, it came back to me and it was still not hot. The Big Mouth Chicken Sandwich came out and it was hot and cooked perfectly, probably one of the best chicken sandwiches that I've ever had, not kidding, but the fries were cold and had been sitting around for some time. I had just sent the soup back for the same reason, so I bit my tounge and kept the fries as is. When they cook a sandwich fresh as they did why not pair it with fresh fries. The meal could have been great with just a little attention to detail. Hot food should be hot and cold food should be cold, no exceptions ever! I think that Chili's isn't all that special, but the food was pretty good given my expectations for chain restaurants. The cheese fries were amazing! I don't care how unhealthy they maybe.. they are just that good. The steak was alright. The onion strings were really salty and oily. Service was attentive and nice. I knew that our waiter was really trying hard to get our party's orders right. There were about 2-3 mistakes but I'll be forgiving given that we had a party of 20 or so. A huge thank you to Allegra, our server tonight. She was patient with our large group and did an excellent job of making sure we were well-taken care of. I appreciate her grace in spite of the fact that we were a later group and finished near closing time. One thing that could improve are the Ziosks; they are super slow. And the servers get docked reviews for not using them!! I found this to be unacceptable. Chili's should take note of this and improve its payment and employee review systems. read more

A new low. Now the food was ok, but the experience . . . you would have thought you were eating lunch at midnight in an abandoned town. Except this happened at 1230pm on a weekday. We were seated and told that some guy would take our order. A lady took our drink order and eventually our meal order too. When the food came, they had to ask who had what. I'm ok with that. Sometimes that happens. Water - well, we were never checked on again. I stood up and looked around. I saw the water pitchers and ended up filling it up for my wife and myself. My wife said she saw the waiter, his eyes remained down looking at his phone the entire time. As I walked to the restroom to change my 8 week old son's diaper, I saw two wait staff looking at the TV - watching a soap opera. Dirty restroom - Koala station for changing my kid was dirty. The soap dispenser was broken too. When it came time for dessert, my wife wanted the Molten Lava Cake - (for $7). I had to stand up to flag someone down. We paid at our table off one of the tablets (because no one came by again). We left without anyone saying a think. The entire experience . . . let's be honest . . . I could have ordered food, eaten it, and just walked away without paying and no one would have noticed. I am not encouraging committing a crime, but let's just say that a drug deal could have been done in broad day light here. I wonder when they even bussed the table. Did I leave a tip? So I come here every so often and thought they deserved a review. Every time I come to Chili's at this particular location, I always have a great experience. I'm immediately seated. Waiters or waitress immediate serve you with drinks and give you time to look over the menus. I like ordering the Fajita platter that comes with shrimp and chicken. I don't care for the rice because it is too spicy for my taste buds. Other than that all is well. My favorite dessert is the Molten Chocolate Cake. OMG it's soo good! My favorite drink is the Strawberry Lemonade. Regardless what other people say, take into consideration that they may already be in a bad mood and probably have taken their issues to dine out. Because I have. I've see the mountains of babyback ribs. I've braved the appetizer trio. I've heard the sizzle of fajitas for two on a hot platter, shrimp, beef and chicken coming together as one. I've ordered extra ranch and downed obnoxious margaritas big enough to baptize a baby in. It's an encyclopedia of American food with an appendix on Tex-Mex. It's packed every night of the week, even with a dozen high quality restaurants serving similar fare nearby. Half of it's because people want the something safe. It's also half because people want something consistently good. It's also half because maybe for once you want to get dinner with locals, tourists and people who don't sneer at a plate because food is integral to their personal brand. It's also half because I can't count. I suggest an ironic journey here with some other buddies. The menu alone is hilarious in it's scope and Michael Bay approach to sensory overload. Order apps, margs and some ridiculous entree. Instagram that shit because it's probably going to be the most interesting thing your scrolling friend notices among artisan donuts and #fitness gym selfies. A star subtracted because the tablets at each table are lame as hell. Let the servers serve. And getting rid of your busboys is a weird move.
