    Margarita, Asada Quesadilla
    Lauren ..

Great margaritas for a great price, the drinks are so strong and delicious! The asada quesadilla was also great, very juicy and flavorful. We really enjoyed the rice as beans as well. Ordered a small bean and cheese burrito for $2 and it was well worth it. Great spot with good prices

I live so close to here and wanted to check it out for so long but I'm glad I waited. When I got inside there was no one at the counter. I waited around 15 minutes or so before I met eyes with someone who was coming in and out of the back. I walk around the front bar and tried to get their attention to ask if someone can help me out but they just ignored me. I gave it another 5 minutes before I was going to leave before turning around and seeing a pretty poorly designed and marked self service kiosk that I wouldn't have noticed if not for staring at it too long wondering what it was. I tried to order food off the kiosk and nothing matched what was advertised on their menu. It was finally when another associate walked to the front and I stopped to get her attention and asked if she could take my order. All this hassle just to get food and I was already pretty upset with the place, I wanted it to a good place since I always see people sitting in their front patio so I decided to wait until I tried the food. I got the bean and cheese breakfast burrito and the best part of it was that the tortilla was heated up just right but it wasn't very good. Not to say that it wasn't bad, but it just wasn't very good. I guess I had some pretty high expectation and was met with a burrito that tasted like it came from any other restaurant. All in all I'm glad It really wasn't a good experience here. Maybe it was the time of day that showed up. I'm definitely not giving up on the place, I'll be coming back to see what else is good on the menu but at least I'm prepared if the service is the same as I had previously.

This was our 2nd time here and again, really enjoyed the experience. Staff was kind, friendly, and ready to help with whatever we needed. They got the margarita texture fixed since our last visit so that was great! Strawberry margarita was sweet but enjoyable! Decent amount of alcohol. The food was great , if I had to nitpick- a little too much cheese in the vegetarian quesadilla but, afterall- it's a quesadilla. lol They had the music pumping and lights dimmed with colorful lights lighting up the place. They weren't too busy and food came out promptly.

this is one of my go-to spots in Austin for a breakfast burrito or taco! I think they do an excellent chorizo! The service is always fast and food is always fresh. Casual spot to do pick up orders or eat in.

I came here thinking it was a food truck style with outdoor seating only, and was more than pleasantly surprised with the cute interior. Then we got our food, and it was all incredible. My chicken burrito was a 9/10, the steak quesadilla was a 7/10, the Mexican rice was a 9/10 (very greasy). We got the dip trio and the guac 6/10, salsa 7/10 (kind of tasted like spicy tomato sauce), and the queso was a 6/10. You can order on a QR code which was super convenient, but you can also order at the register or at a self-checkout style register. They bring the food out to you promptly!

Very tasty tacos! I was in the neighborhood for a comedy show at Spiderhouse and wanted to grab a bite beforehand and ended up here. They have a small parking lot and street parking can be hit or miss depending on when you're trying to eat. This is a standard situation for any place close to campus though. Foodwise though this is a great option for food if you're in the area. Tacos were tasty and came out relatively fast. I had a barbacoa and the others in my group got the carne asada tacos. They do run about ~$4+ a pop but solid food. And they even have 3 different salsas, my favorite was the jalapeño one

Juani is a great bartender, lovely customer service and great drinks love it her! The staff and ambience is amazing and great environment to be in their drinks are great and love their burritos

It's almost like I wasn't paying for my food, with how little meat they added to my burrito. I understand cutting cost but this is a joke of a restaurant.

I really enjoy Salsa Limón! The employees are wonderful and always down to give recommendations. They have super generous portions (huge tacos) and the pricing isn't bad (only $4-5 per taco). Which means you can eat a really filling meal for $10 which is hard to beat in Austin. Their margs are also unexpectedly strong which could be a really good or bad thing depending on what you're going for, but it's definitely economical. I'm obsessed with their salsa selection - the habanero salsa is my favorite! My main complaint (hence the 4/5 review) is that I occasionally run into issues with my taco being soaked in oil. 75% of the time, the taco is perfect, but the other 25% of the time it's really oily and my tortilla gets soft. I've noticed this more with the asada or pastor tacos. However, I will keep coming back and risk the occasional oily taco because they are delicious.

Solid taco place! It didn't absolutely blow me away so I can only give 4/5 stars, but the staff was friendly and helpful, the tacos are only $4.25 each, and you can get 3 or so of them and get full. Bathroom is clean, and the seating is picnic table style so plenty of room. I enjoyed the asada one most out of the two I got (also tried chicken). They're made with traditional small corn tortillas but they double them up to help them keep their shape. Overall did enjoy the tacos! Bet they'd be great with a marg or Paloma on their drink menu. Oh also - they have free chips and salsa during happy hour which they said was 2-6p on weekdays.

This place just isn't good. Worst tacos ever and the beer was flat. Just a bad vibe overall today

It's not always easy to find flavorful vegetarian tacos, so this place was a pleasant surprise. I loved it so much that I ended up visiting twice during my two-day trip to Austin. Sixth Street's neon and noise are basically next door, the Capitol sits up the hill, and the whole area is packed with people, bars, and that classic Austin mix of polished downtown hustle and late-night chaos. Velvet Taco is pure counter-service: you walk right up, order at the register, and then grab a seat. There's plenty of seating, so even with a couple of kids in tow it was no problem finding a spot. The place leans hard into what can only be called white-people tacos--soft, sad flour tortillas that taste like they came straight out of a grocery-store package, loaded with every wild creation the kitchen can invent. Global mashups, brunch hybrids, burger impostors, the works. No one is pretending these are the real deal. I went for the chicken-and-waffles taco, which was actually built on a thin, real waffle instead of a tortilla. Surprisingly good--crispy, a little sweet, chicken holding its own. The burger taco tasted exactly like a cheeseburger that had wandered into a tortilla and decided to stay. We also tried the shrimp taco (fine), one daughter got the kids' chicken taco (perfectly kid-level), and the other ordered the chicken tikka (spicy, saucy, and very much in the "why is this on a tortilla?" category). Everything was okay. Comparable to Torchy's in that same creative-American-taco lane. If you're looking for a true Mexican taco, stay far away. But if you just want to play around with some decent flavors on a cheap flour store-bought tortilla while sitting in the middle of downtown Austin, this is your spot. Not my favorite. Glad I tried it. Won't be back.

I had only stopped by this Food Truck (area) to try Desnudo Coffee, and spotted this business. I had heard some good things about Veracruz, but I was planning lunch elsewhere. Well, that other spot was CLOSED ON WEDNESDAYS! Seeing my situation, I saw it as opportunity to try the options at Veracruz --- including the famous from Food Network, migas taco. I ordered 4 tacos: the migas, migas poblano, shrimp macha (!!), and the Dona Reyna tacos. All of these specific tacos were priced between $6 and $6.75 per taco, not bad in Austin, and not bad considering the quality of said tacos. As you can see from my order, I opted on the more "novel" choices and they did not disappoint; that said, I do HIGHLY recommend the two variations of the migas taco and the shrimp macha taco. Oh, the shrimp macha was so FIRE, the flavors were bold and smoky with a kiss of heat. The migas tacos were FULLY LOADED, and the scramble with the tortilla chips were flavorul. TIP: They will ask corn or flour --- do flour. Everything is handmade, but those corn tortillas fall apart with all the sauce. Flour = durable and flavorful. I had plans, but the Universe had other plans for me that were superior. Try Veracruz All Natural --- and if your limited on $$$, you can snag 3 EXCEPTIONAL LOADED TACOS for about $20, that you will not find anywhere else!

I walked into this unassuming restaurant and perused the menu, which felt like Mexican tarot cards. Pictures. Titles. Small description. It all looked basic. But simple food made with fresh ingredients and seasoned well has won Michelin stars. Unfortunately, I don't foresee them receiving one. The al pastor taco was tasty. The steak taco had too much fat in it. If I was strictly bashing this review on the food. I'd give it a three. It's not worth the price. Now, the service seemed to be decent until I didn't put a tip on my takeout order. Things seemed to go south. When my name was called, I grabbed the small paper bag and paused. No guacamole. If I hadn't have looked, I could've walked a really long wasteful before noticing. Maybe long enough to not go back. The last behind the counter, said okay I'll get it. It felt like a chore. I said thank you and made the long walk fighting the heat of the dragon's breath once again. The story does not stop there, I thought 3 tacos, a drink, and guacamole couldn't honestly cost $43. The guilt of spending that kind of money on such little food that was also just average, screamed in my conscience. Well, that was because the woman also had not given me my tres leches, which was going to be for my wife. I took the long walk back, stood at the counter for what felt like 10 minutes, and again it felt like a chore to get me what I paid for. No sorry.
