Chuy's in Mueller is a good location to meet people as they have street parking and a garage with validation. The weather was nice last week so the 4 of us were able to sit on the patio. The service was a bit slow and hard to get attention but our food came out quickly once we ordered and we all enjoyed the options we ordered. I tried the chicken relleno and enchilada for the first time. Others had various enchilada dishes including the chicken with boom boom sauce. Always love the thin chips they serve at Chuy's with the jalapeno ranch. I'm glad to know there is another Chuy's option to meet people and I'm sure I'll be back to this location again!

Everyone was excited that a Chuy opened in our neighborhood so I had to check it out. Came here on Friday night at 730 for a show and my group of five was able to be seated right away. We all got some drinks and I got the New Mexican martini. It was quite delicious and at a pretty decent price. I ended up on the steak burrito for food and it too was also quite delicious at a decent price. Overall, it would be a good place for casual food and drinks. I'll probably be taking advantage of this close proximity and be ordering take outs whenever I'm in the mood for Tex mex.

We dropped into Chuys Mueller location for some drinks. Just like all locations this one is very cutely decorated. Lots to look at and cheerful colorful bar and dining area. The bartenders were attentive and drinks were good. No complaints!

Love this chuys! It's a brand new location so usually a safe bet as far as clean and new equipment! Very cool and eclectic inside - plenty of fun decorations! We split the panchos with ground beef and the green chile chicken enchiladas - both incredible! The panchos are the best way to have nachos - everything on one big chip! The enchiladas are delicious too - so yummy and cheesy and full of chicken and chiles inside. I also got the watermelon tini - insane deal for $11.50 - it's so sweet and refreshing - I love it for summer! Service was great - always nice when they offer free chips and salsa too!

Well decorated and lively, Chuy's a must have staple in Austin! My friend, a UT grad, took charge in recommending me dishes to try. I thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary chips, and the green cream-based sauce paired very well with it. I liked its ranch-like taste! I got the chicka chicka boom boom enchiladas. It was very flavorful and a good balance of spicy and savory. The rice was my favorite! Well seasoned and cooked, it was fluffy and a nice contrast to the wetness of the enchiladas. This is definitely a heavy meal, so be advised before eating here. Parking was not difficult at least after 7pm on a Monday. It was also not too busy, but I was pleasantly surprised by how popular it was still for a weekday.

Was very excited to see that Door Dash advertises that all orders include chips and salsa. Unfortunately this isn't true. I received no chips which was the part I most look forward to when going to Chuy's. I rarely make it into a physical location anymore, so they need to remove this verbiage from their delivery sites if it's not true. (I will not be emailing yall to discuss. You can message me here.)

Whenever someone from out of town asks for a Tex-Mex recommendation, I always recommend Chuy's--it's a solid option that never disappoints. I came in on a slower day and was quickly seated on the patio. Our bartender/server was awesome--super chill, efficient, and made our experience feel relaxed. Unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to my usual Chuy's standard. The food was lukewarm and lacked the seasoning I love. I always order the Elvis Presley Memorial Combo because I look forward to the leftovers, but this time, the meal was so underwhelming that I ended up throwing the leftovers out the next day. It's not the bartender/server's fault, but the food just wasn't up to par compared to other Chuy's locations. Love the location, but needs some work before I'll return.

Chuy's Roast Chicken Chile Rellenos circa 2024
    Brian O.

Chile Rellenos 2.0 are back on the menu, but they're not quite like 1999 or 2019 before Covid-19 iykyk being that they're breaded with panko or maybe Lay's potato chips and they're maybe pre-prepped with a chicken breast filling and frozen versus really fresh roasted chicken breast and Anaheim Chile peppers. I guess I'd say that they're good or okay, but not nearly as great as before. I was able to sub the Green Chile Rice from the special feature Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken, so that was the best part and the saving grace to my meal. Overall, the Mueller Chuy's is developing it's own vibe and is good, but unlike the iconic Barton Springs, North Lamar, and Round Rock locations we still have a ways to go and maybe it's just that it's no longer possible to be like before whether it's Barton Springs, Round Rock or Mueller. Probably best just to enjoy Chuy's nowadays for what it's become and cherish the many precious beloved menu items that haven't changed, as Chuy's still is better than many ever were or those that lost their identity during the covid environment or from the challenges that have resulted the past few years.

    Jean B.

Decided to try the *new*(?) chicka-chicka boom-boom sauce and wow it is so good. The queso of course never disappoints and the chicken quesadillas are great. You do have the option to remove the grilled onions and I will say it is an odd choice to have in a quesadilla with the cheese and chicken so that kind of ruined it for me,, otherwise though a very solid meal to have!! And this is one of the less overstimulating chuy's which is a rarity nowadays.

I was excited to see this place pop up in my neighborhood, love a good local Chuy's. Came here on a Sunday night and it was packed. We were seated fairly quickly but we were packed in there like sardines. Service was good. Chuy's green sauce was fire as always. Got the baja shrimp tacos and they didn't disappoint.

    Krystyna L.

The service at Chuy's was fantastically attentive. The menu currently includes some classic favorites, like the Elvis Fried Chicken, breaded in none other than Lay's potato chips. For great value, shared plates are the way to go--we tried the new Bacon Guacamole Arancini like appetizer. It was tasty, though I'm still unsure about hot guacamole. I also discovered that you can customize the quesadilla appetizer with a mix of beef and chicken, getting two small quesadillas of each. To top it off, they even gave me an extra bag of chips with salsa and jalapeño ranch to-go! Best ranch ever. There is a big indoor area and large covered patio. I prefer the outside, I like fresh air and the inside is a little loud in decor.

First, the menu needs a rewrite for content and clarity. For example, buying fajitas doesn't list guacamole and based on size, single, for two and family you get more sides of rice or beans. There's no definition of how much actual meat you get and our server couldn't provide that information beyond a rough estimate. Second, the fajitas we got of family size and for two portions for 7 were not consistently cooked. We asked for medium rare and got about 25% at that with the ones in the center at a more well done. Again, the multiple tiny sides were more obnoxious than anything as it's legit beans and rice unless you want to upcharge. The cilantro lime rice tastes like nothing so skip that and go for abuelita rice which has a hint of flavor. Overall, the butter/gravy that go on the fajitas is the real winner but again a menu where you overbuy and misunderstand (that doesn't even list extras like guacamole or a simple small queso) was beyond frustrating. I would stick to them for one to possibly get a better cook.

At this point, El Dorado is an Austin favorite. People don't really debate whether it's good. They debate whether the wait is worth it, which is a very different conversation. So rather than adding another voice to the pile of praise, it seems more useful to talk about what people should actually expect when they go. First, yes, there may be a wait. This place is popular, and popular restaurants attract crowds. That's not a criticism; it's simply the reality. But it's also worth noting that many of the legendary wait times come from showing up exactly when everyone else does. If you can sneak in before or after the prime lunch and dinner rushes, the experience becomes much more manageable. Once you're seated, do yourself a favor and order the white queso. Better yet, if you're with family or friends, just get the sampler. It turns the beginning of the meal into an event rather than a formality. The white queso is every bit as good as people claim, but what surprised me even more was how seriously El Dorado takes its salsa. Most restaurants treat salsa as a free opening act before the main performance. Here, it feels like something carefully considered. Several varieties stood out, and more than one made me wonder why so many places settle for mediocre salsa when it can clearly be this good. As for the food itself, it's important to know what kind of restaurant you're walking into. If your idea of Austin Tex-Mex is fresh, light, bright, and vaguely health-conscious, you may need to adjust your expectations. El Dorado leans toward the heartier side of the spectrum. These are rich, deeply flavored dishes that feel rooted in tradition rather than trends. The portions are generous, the flavors are bold, and the meal has a certain gravitational pull to it. This is not food that politely taps you on the shoulder. It gives you a warm hug and then insists you have another bite. What impressed me most, oddly enough, were the beans and rice. Normally, they're supporting characters that exist simply because tradition demands they be present. At El Dorado, they seem to receive the same attention as everything else on the plate. It's a small detail, but great restaurants often reveal themselves through small details. The service deserves just as much praise as the food. During our visit, we interacted with several different staff members, and every one of them was friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. There was none of the rushed indifference that sometimes sneaks into busy restaurants. Even better, management was actively moving through the dining room, checking on guests, talking with tables, and making sure people were enjoying themselves. It's the kind of thing that doesn't always get noticed when it's done well, but it absolutely contributes to why places like this develop loyal followings. The atmosphere itself is cheerful and comfortable. It's colorful without being flashy, lively without being chaotic. Nobody is going to leave talking about the interior design, but that's perfectly fine. The room accomplishes what it needs to accomplish: it feels welcoming and relaxed, allowing the food and the people to be the stars. As for negatives, there really aren't many. If you're looking for an elevated dining experience with dramatic plating, moody lighting, and a server who explains every ingredient as though introducing characters in a novel, this probably isn't your place. El Dorado seems far more interested in feeding people well than impressing them with presentation. And honestly, that's probably part of the reason Austin loves it so much. Go when you can avoid the biggest crowds. Order the queso. Explore the salsas. Don't overlook the beans and rice. Show up hungry. The food is hearty, the people are kind, and the restaurant knows exactly what it is. In a city where so many places are trying to become something, there's something refreshing about a place that already has.

THAT PLACE IS THE BEST". Located off Mopac and Anderson in North Central Austin, this beloved tex-mex restaurant is situated in a relatively aged shopping strip less than half a mile from the highway. Parking is ample and available so there should be no issues with access getting to the restaurant. Although easy to get to, it's a whole different story getting into the restaurant. First and foremost, they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Secondly, they are so popular that you should almost always expect a wait. The pro move here is to book a reservation, but if you don't have one - anticipate waiting anywhere between 30 - 90 minutes in order to get in. Once in, you have the option to pick from a variety of tex-mex cuisine, including some local house specials such as the "crunchwrap supreme" which has an interesting backlore related to Taco Bell. Free chips and salsa (choose up to two salsas to try) land as soon as you arrive. El Dorado is known for its vegan tex-mex offerings so those with more particular diets will certainly be able to find something that works. The salsas are tasty. The serving portions are large. The flavors are good - there's really not too much to complain about once you're in and seated.

Decided to come in and the cashier greeted us and was really nice and patient because of questions with the menu. The Taco Bueno is what I had ordered and requested no potato. Anyone reading this, try this place out and if u like it, come back! Cuz we are for sure =D
